It ended with X-Men star Sir Stewy yelling: "Beam me out of here! Taxi!" Things kicked off when the 69-year-old actor went on to present the Best Actress gong to Avatar star, Zoe Saldana.

Sir Patrick launched into a long, self-congratulatory monologue. Yawn.

Then he turned to the Gavin & Stacey star and double Bafta-winner and, in a patronising tone, said: "I want to speak to James, here. It is James, isn't it? "When the presenters are standing up here, and when the recipients are receiving their awards, don't stand at the back of the stage with your hands in your pockets, looking around as if you would rather be anywhere in the world but here."

Interrupting him to apologise, 31-year-old James then returned to the back, shoved his hands in his pockets, stared at the ceiling and retorted: "And when you come on stage to present an award, you should just f****** get on with it."

Patrick then hit below the belt saying: "From where I was I could see your belly and that was from right at the back of the room." In reply, James said: "Sorry, I'm waiting for the punchline. You could see my belly... I can see you dying right now.'' Cue raucous laughter from the audience.

Undeterred, Patrick referenced a quip James had made earlier about fancying Nick Jonas. He said: "If you fancy one of the Jonas Brothers, cover your belly."

Silence descended at the Berkeley Street marquee in Mayfair. Then James bopped to the front of the stage, lifted his shirt and said with a loud laugh: "I feel bad for people who haven't seen my belly." Touche.

As Sir Patrick eventually left the stage, James got the last word - and the last laugh - saying: "OK, can we get a taxi really quickly, please? "There's an ol' man going home.'' Afterwards, James told us: "I'm hugely disappointed. He tried leaning in to speak to me, but I wasn't interested and couldn't hear what he said.

"I couldn't care less now. It's just a shame he wasn't what I hoped.

"I didn't want it to ruin the night."

Personally, I would pick Stewart over Corden anyway, obviously Stewart was pissed, and I think Corden was on something, if you look at the petulant way he was acting, when an actor of over 40 years is calling him up on being bad mannered, and then Corden replies with get the FUCK on with it. I would have just called him an arrogant fat bastard and had done with it.
But no, Stewart - ever composed - tried to make a joke out of it. It didnt work but so what, Corden is a base human being, bares his stomach in front of hundreds (and now millions) of people. What a c*nt.

I put this here just in case it had a kanye and taylor style ritualism, but now i think Corden's just a c*nt and thats it.

Oh and as an aside, the list of "celebrities" mentioned makes me LOL big time.

I've met Patrick Stewart and he was a really nice guy, seemed down to earth (!) and actually interested, as opposed to many other celebs.

Corden just comes over as well, stupid.

i'll have a look around but i doubt he does anything remotely controverisal or significant through his comedy
