Ok on WalMart Money Card you pay $3.00 to load the card then 14 days after that they take away another $3.00. After another 16 days they take away another $3.00 so total taken away from you is $9.00 regardless if you used it or not. If this is not bad enough, they make you give then your name, ssn, physical address e, and some other information. Now after this is all collected they market this information to other companies. See below.

I suggest you opt out using the given above addressee & phone number and complain to them what a huge invasion of privacy this all is. I would also recommend you using any other debit card (anonymous) that doesn't retain all this information about you and not ever use WalMart Money Card unless you want your information passed along to unnamed sources & even though its a debit card, your information also passed along to credit agencies (which is terrible because its a debit card meaning you have to pay first to put money on it to begin with). Total invasion of privacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

store cards have always been a joke.
I also hate how the internet shopping sites are biased towards credit cards, specifically visa/mastercard.
Banks have made it difficult for businesses to accept debit cards.
Laser cards in Ireland are bloody useless online

Well this is a prepaid debit card with the visa/mastercard logo on it. It can be used anywhere visa/mastercard is accepted & debit. The bad thing also about the scam is that they continue to market to you even if you account is empty/card over with/you used all the funds/etc. This was the updated tos that was sent 6/8/10 above. The bad thing about all this is that basically your lets say for instance $3.00 payment for the card presuming you use all the funds before the 14 day period so no more money is taken away from your account, you can still earn WalMart very possible thousands of dollars just from your one $3.00 purchase during the course of your lifetime & even within 5 years & the longer you live the better because they can still market the crap out of you as long as your alive & then after that probably your next of kin/husband/wife/etc.

Interesting. I used to work for a company that suddenly went mad for these cards and threatened to sack staff if they didn't sell them. I ended up leaving over it but oddly they don't make a lot of money for the company selling them so I wondered at the time what the incentive was. They even ran a training course for people who wouldn't sell them (and I was forced to attend) and it had typical cult style bullying and crude (very crude) NLP.

Store cards are just another example of how they have been bleeding consumers dry by tempting them with a convinient way of getting what you want now rather than saving and getting it later. They were introduced to encourage debt, to make people believe it's okay to owe money and that nobody should have to save for things they want.

Any company who are offering store cards to their customers want to have power and control over that customer. If a store offers store cards they are part of the plan to get most people into a spiral of unmanagable debt.

Funny how people actually think these stores are being kind to them when in reality they have got you by the ankles and their shacking every last penny from your pockets in exchange for products that are useless or outdated within a year.
