The Daily Telegraph spotted three police officers

Man 'put own kids in porn videos'

A PERTH man is being interviewed by police for allegedly using his own children in pornographic videos.

A police spokesman said the man had not been arrested but Child protection Squad Officers planned to search his home later today.

No further information was available at the moment.

West Australian police also announced
the end of child pornography operation
Keiko,

which had led to the arrest of 18 people,
including two police officers, a customs officer,
a naval officer and a teacher, since December.

WA police received information from
Interpol, Europol, Belgian and Dutch police,
US authorities, Queensland police and the Australian Federal Police
which led to 24 search warrants being executed and 18 arrests.

Detectives discovered more than 500,000 child pornography images, 2500 DVDs, thumb drives and 705 written stories depicting abuse between adult men and children, who ranged from three months to 16 years old.

"No matter what you do, everything's traceable on your computer," Detective Jamie Merritt said.

"No matter how long it takes, you will be caught, brought before the courts and punished."

The 18 people arrested across WA were identified by overseas police who found their names on the computers of pedophiles in their own countries and were able to show they had been sent the images.

The same information was used to arrest an unknown number of people in other Australian states and territories.

Of the 18 people arrested in WA,
one was a supplier of child porn images
through a website membership.
He received a
two-year suspended sentence
for his crime.

The 17 other men received the images from various internet sources.

"Some people like keeping them (images), they like sharing them with other people, and they brag about how many images they keep," Det Merritt said.

One man was found with 150,000 child porn images on his personal computer.

None of the children in the images have been identified, but they are not believed to be Australian.

The last person arrested in relation to
the now-closed operation Keiko

was detained last Wednesday.

Howard pays for Bush golf clubs

JOHN Howard may have been able to resist
a silver cigar box from the Greek prime minister,
pearl cufflinks from the Filipino president
and a silk carpet from the Iraqi president.

But there was no way he was going to knock back
a golf bag, custom putter and club covers
from his good buddy US President George W Bush.

Mr Howard was showered with gifts by visiting leaders during last year's
APEC summit - and duly surrendered most of them to his department
because they were over the allowable limit of $750.

But - perhaps with his impending retirement on his mind -
he kept the golf gear,
ferried to Sydney
aboard Air Force One.

"During the recent APEC meeting I received a golf bag, custom putter and
golf covers from the president of the United States of America,''
Mr Howard wrote to House of Representatives Clerk Ian Harris in a declaration dated September 30 last year.

"As the gift is valued over the allowable limit, I have forwarded a cheque
to the Collector of Public Monies for payment of the difference in value to
the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.''

He also decided to pay for eight crystal wine glasses
given to him by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper,
who has publicly hailed Mr Howard as a mentor for a new generation of conservative leaders around the world.

But he surrendered the two bottles of dessert wine that
came with them for use during an official function at The Lodge.

He also handed over the carpet,
the cigar box and the cufflinks,
as well as a south sea brooch in a
stingray skin box,
a hand-painted ceramic pot,
some historic scrolls and
a laptop computer.

Kevin Rudd,
who ousted Mr Howard as prime minister
two months after the APEC summit,
also received a gift from Mr Bush -
a leather stationery box and platinum pen
valued at $US365 ($390).
Mr Rudd kept the gifts.

Rail staff appeared to shadow a middle-aged man wearing a black beret and a little, blonde girl until police arrived at Town Hall train station to question the pair. The Daily Telegraph spotted three police officers talking to the man and the girl at the Luneburger German Bakery underneath the Queen Victoria Building in the heart of the city. But police say the report "There was a possible sighting," a police spokeswoman said. "It's been checked. The police obviously took it seriously enough to check." A world-wide, nine month search for the missing four-year-old was launched last year after she went missing in May while on a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal. There have been numerous, false sightings since she disappeared.

Howard pays for Bush golf clubs By Maria Hawthorne March 17, 2008 07:45pm JOHN Howard may have been able to resist a silver cigar box from the Greek prime minister, pearl cufflinks from the Filipino president and a silk carpet from the Iraqi president. But there was no way he was going to knock back a golf bag, custom putter and club covers from his good buddy US President George W Bush. Mr Howard was showered with gifts by visiting leaders during last year's APEC summit - and duly surrendered most of them to his department because they were over the allowable limit of $750. But - perhaps with his impending retirement on his mind - he kept the golf gear, ferried to Sydney aboard Air Force One. "During the recent APEC meeting I received a golf bag, custom putter and golf covers from the president of the United States of America,'' Mr Howard wrote to House of Representatives Clerk Ian Harris in a declaration dated September 30 last year. "As the gift is valued over the allowable limit, I have forwarded a cheque to the Collector of Public Monies for payment of the difference in value to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.'' He also decided to pay for eight crystal wine glasses given to him by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who has publicly hailed Mr Howard as a mentor for a new generation of conservative leaders around the world. But he surrendered the two bottles of dessert wine that came with them for use during an official function at The Lodge. He also handed over the carpet, the cigar box and the cufflinks, as well as a south sea brooch in a stingray skin box, a hand-painted ceramic pot, *some historic scrolls* and a laptop computer. Kevin Rudd, who ousted Mr Howard as prime minister two months after the APEC summit, also received a gift from Mr Bush - a leather stationery box and platinum pen valued at $US365 ($390). Mr Rudd kept the gifts.
