Newman Honoured In Connecticut

Late movie icon Paul Newman has been posthumously inducted into the Connecticut Hall of Fame.

He'll join fellow movie star Katharine Hepburn, writer Mark Twain and baseball legend Jackie Robinson among the other big names to receive the state honour.

The induction ceremony took place on Thursday in Hartford.

Newman, 83, died in September.

Doctors Investigate Death Of Holmes' Brother-in-law

An autopsy has failed to determine how Katie Holmes brother died.

Joseph Jeffrey Fretti, the husband of Holmes' eldest sister Tamera, was found unconscious and in cardiac and respiratory arrest at his mother's home in Sarasota, Florida on 12 April.

He was later pronounced dead at The Doctor’s Hospital.

Initial tests have failed to conclude what caused the 48-year-old's death but Dr. Russell Vega of the Florida District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled out foul play.

Vega adds that he will do extensive "tissue tests, blood test and toxicology tests" to determine how Fretti passed away.

Fretti was separated from Tamera, 41, who filed for divorce on 13 February.

A newly discovered moss was just named after the president, according to the Ventura County Star. A California lichen expert found the new species on Santa Rosa Island. What does 'lichen' mean? According to dictionary.com it's a fungus that grows with algae.

Anyway, the guy who found it is Kerry Knudsen. He took a sample right before the election then published a paper on it in March. Knudsen said he wanted, "to show my appreciation for the president's support of science and science education."

It's officially called Caloplaca obamae. And it's now in the scientific record books forever.

Nato exercises 'a dangerous move'

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has condemned Nato's "dangerous decision" to hold military exercises in Georgia next month.
He said such decisions "are aimed at muscle-flexing" and would impede the resumption of full-scale contacts between Moscow and Nato.
Moscow's envoy to Nato said on Thursday he had asked the Western military alliance to postpone the exercises.
Nato says the exercises, from 6 May to 1 June, represent no threat to Moscow.
Held some 20km (12 miles) east of Georgia's capital Tbilisi, they will be non-aggressive and based on a fictitious UN-mandated, Nato-led crisis response operation, the alliance said.
"There should really be no element of surprise for anyone," Nato spokesman Robert Pszczel said. "There is no heavy armour involved at all, it's just people."
Nato has said the exercises, expected to involve 1,300 troops from 19 countries, were planned before last year's conflict between Russia and Georgia over South Ossetia.
Georgia hopes eventually to join Nato, a move strongly opposed by Russia, which says the alliance's eastward expansion is a threat to its security.

Seems that they are not happy about this in the slightest and dont want georgia and Nato joining forces
