Default NO food or drink for 70 years

Man claims to have had no food or drink for 70 years

Telegraph | Article

Indian military scientists are studying an 82-year-old who claims he has not had any food or drink for 70 years.

Prahlad Jani is being held in isolation in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gurjarat, where he is being closely monitored by India's defence research organization, who believe he may have a genuine quality which could help save lives.

He has now spent six days without food or water under strict observation and doctors say his body has not yet shown any adverse effects from hunger or dehydration. MORE > > >

We can now tell people to just shut up and starve to death........

I think if true it would be EXCELLENT, but i have my doubts........

I dont think it would be something anyone can just do for the fun of it. It would take a fundmental shift in your perception and consciousness. It could take a life time to be "educated"....

I think things like that can happen and i believe it is possible, but still i have massive doubts about it..........

Why did they lock the fella up? Sorry, not been awake long, but pisses me off that human reaction is to lock someone up and study them. I hope humanity dies this afternoon. Something quick to end life as we know it. That would be merciful.

Default Man survives 70 years without food or drink

And what pisses me off, is how the military get involved so they can utilize this gift to train their soldiers to survive during difficult situations...What about the poor who are starving, why cant they teach these people to survive, rather than starve. Makes me puke how these twisted minds work.

Military medics hope the experiments on Prahlad Jani can help soldiers develop their survival strategies.

The long-haired and bearded yogi is under 24-hour observation by a team of 30 doctors during three weeks of tests at a hospital in the western city of Ahmedabad.

Two cameras have been set up in his room, while a mobile camera films him when he goes outside, guaranteeing round-the-clock observation.

His body will be scanned and his brain and heart activity measured with electrodes.

"The observation from this study may throw light on human survival without food and water," said Dr G. Ilavazahagan, who is directing the research.

"This may help in working out strategies for survival during natural calamities, extreme stressful conditions and extra-terrestrial explorations like future missions to the Moon and Mars by the human race."

Since the experiment began on April 22, Jani has neither eaten nor drunk and has not been to the toilet.

"The exercise of taking this yogi under the medical scanner is to understand what energy supports his existence," Dr Ilavazahagan added.

"Jani says he meditates to get energy. Our soldiers will not be able to meditate, but we would still like to find out more about the man and his body."

Jani, who dresses in red and wears a nose ring, grew up in Charod village in the Mehsana district in Gujarat.

He claims to have been blessed by a goddess when he was aged eight, which has enabled him to survive without sustenance.

What i don't get is, if this guy is a holy man, why on earth would a holy man be getting involved with the military, to help them survive in a war zone more effectivly. It doesn't make sense.

Yep, just read this story...

For an 83 year old he sure looks good for his age.

As a regular visitor to India there's a lot more yogis out there who have been doing the same and more, they just like to remain hidden, usually in caves in/near the himalayas and the wilderness.

This chap must have had a crisis of conscience to come out in the open, coz the bonafide yogis stay well away from the rest of humanity.

Maybe somethings afoot in the great ether?

Plus there's a kumbh mela going on which attracts all the worlds 'holy' men/women.

First Stop Iraq(Sumer) next stop India then onwards to the Middle Kingdom?

I hope something good comes outta this.

Meditation strengthens the mind and allows a person to disassociate there feelings from there experiences. Very helpful for PTSD, soldiering in extreme climates...bla bla blah.

Also they could've bribed the holy man with cash and food for his village, it happens a lot in India, bribes and corruption that is.
