The USA has nuclear weapons to deter attacks from other nuclear weapons countries.
Do you think the people of the USA would be better off if nuked by rivals? No, so money on nuclear weapons is well spent. You quoted interesting details about relative poverty and wealth of people here in Britain, Scotland etc. Much of this is down to how the kingdom is governed but that is down to the Queen's government, "Her Majesty's Government" and how people choose to just love the royals, watch royal weddings, trusting the BBC and the politicians they put in front of us. Condi has helped defend our freedom to run ourselves in our own interests if we wish. It is not Condi's fault if Britons have foolishly stuck with the Queen and her kingdom and allowed HMG to run this country in their interests instead of ours. We could have a republican revolution and change government if we wish. Condi allows for that but she can't do it for us. We must do it ourselves.

am i to take it that the op believes in the whole left/right, rep/dem bullshit system? some people cant seem to figure out when they are being lied to....it aint hard you know...you listen to what they say then you watch what happens. after a few decades its pretty clear. i'll give the op the benefit of the doubt if they are under thirty. then again its so in your face now days that if you cant figure it out real quick, your just not paying attention.
