Smears and lies: Why the media and money are killing Michael Jackson again Posted by daniellcohen on 2013/05/11 in Michael Jackson Michael_JacksonSo this week a new lawsuit was filed against Michael Jackson, or in this case his estate. Just when fans were lured into a false of security about his legacy, thinking the tides were changing. It seemed that Michael was remembered more and more for what he was: a unique artist, performer and entertainer the lies and slander was almost forgotten, and with his families lawsuit against AEG the truth about his death would finally come to light. But no, a new lawsuit claiming that Michael has abused someone has been filed years after his death by someone who once claimed he was his friend. Wade Robson, a close friend of Michael from the age of 5 till the day Michael died (when Wade was in his late 20’s,) claims that he suddenly remembers that Michael abused him in the past. Wade sites repressed memories triggered by a nervous breakdown. Naturally this condition exist, and is horrible for true victims. But in his case it is very, very unlikely to be the case. Let’s start the story at the beginning: in 1987 Jackson was touring Australia, when during his stop in Brisbane he met Robson who was just five years old. Jackson was so impressed with Robson’s dancing talent he invited the youngster to perform at his Brisbane concert and then helped Robson throughout his career. Over the years Michael flew the family over from Australia to Neverland, his sister and parents were always with him. Michael helped him develop his dancing, signed him to his label so he could release an album and helped the family move to America. Wade was desperate to move to LA so he could start his dance career and had already found fame as a Michael Jackson imitator on Australian TV. Wade says the abuse stopped when he was 14, still he was seen flying all over the world with Michael for long after that, and remained close to him all his life Michael even introduced Wade to his niece, since he thought they would make a good couple and Wade dated her for a while. Robson also appeared in three of Jackson’s music videos, Black or White, Jam and Heal the World. “He has been a close friend of mine for 20 years,” Robson said in 2009. “His music, his movement, his personal words of inspiration and encouragement and his unconditional love will live inside of me forever. “I will miss him immeasurably, but I know that he is now at peace and enchanting the heavens with a melody and a moonwalk. “I love you Michael.” In later years he performed tributes to Michael on his own TV shows all the time, sang his praises in every interview he did, even after 2010, the year where it is claimed thar claims he had a breakdown and a psychiatrist helped him “realise” he was abused by Michael. But let’s return to the 1990′s first, shall we? In 1993 Wade supported Michael publicly in his first trial, stating he was not abused. This must have been a big thing for a young kid, especially as he now claims he WAS abused back then, it was something you remember doing, and seeing pictures and videos of it would have triggered memories at any point in his life – especially in 2005 when he defended Michael in the other case. And yes, Wade posted in a chatroom on his website on April 27th, 2004, a few days after Jackson was officially indicted by a grand jury“It’s no secret that I had a link to Jackson when I was a kid, and he’s a huge influence on me professionally and personally but I do not need to be reminded of circumstances that happened when I was a kid. Especially when said “circumstances” were all trumped up charges brought forth by that god damn D.A. and Police Chief there in S.B. county. Fuck that!” According to Jermaine Jackson’s book, Wade’s own mother, Joy Robson, has made claims that she had been approached by a tabloid to say her son had been molested in exchange for money, but refused. Wade did the same in 2005, Tom Mesereau can attest to the fact that Wade defended Michael without falter in the 2005 trial and held his ground when cross examined by prosecution. And here we are in the present where Sources for TMZ say that Robson’s anxiety date back to 2010 and it reached a boiling point in March 2011. Robson has since been unable to work and even went to a psychotherapist. After Robson told his family, he said that he planned to sue the Jackson estate. The interesting thing is that while he was “remembering” what happened to him, he continued to happily babble along about his love for his “mentor Michael Jackson”, and dance to his songs. On Rhythm Addicts TV on August 11, 2011, Wade praised Jackson and spoke about his involvement with the upcoming Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour, which began in late 2011. In the interview he spoke of his desire to “give back” to Jackson’s legacy. In a video interview with Wade Robson and Chris Judd on the Pulse Tour’s stop in Toronto published to YouTube on December 6, 2012, Wade was praising Michael. Upon researching the actual date of the interview, its discovered that this interview took place in Toronto either on February 11th or February 12th of 2012. At the same time, during the months he now claims he already knew, Wade joined by Tyce Diorio and Gil Duldulao dancing to Michael Jackson’s Unbreakable during their Pulse Tour stop in Santa Clara – this is February 2012. Then in July 2012, his entire family now knows, plans to sue are supposed to be made, Wade appeared on Master Class Legends, the choreographer gushed about the time he spent with Jackson as a child. In the interview, Robson recounts dancing on stage with Jackson at age seven, after winning a dance contest in which meeting & performing with the singer was the grand prize. He recalled being obsessed with Jackson’s Thriller video at the young age of 2. Then there was his sister who was, as late as December 2012 praising Michael and talking about The Way You Make Me Feel as one of her favorite songs. Nothing in all of this adds up, and then there is the timing: why did he wait until May 1, 2013, just TWO days after opening statements for the Katherine Jackson vs AEG Live trial began? At the moment thereis rampant speculation in the fan community that AEG is behind all of this, and has either paid Robson a large amount of money to back stab Jackson, or has threatened to blacklist him in the entertainment industry if he refused to do so. As a choreographer he is dependent on AEG, for a large part of his work and income. Wade is a choreographer in the music industry and AEG owns Staples and other venues he needs for employment. Jackson’s longtime trial attorney, Tom Mesereau, claims that Robson’s accusations are suspiciously timed in conjunction with the lawsuit between AEG Live and Katherine Jackson. “I find it very curious that this claim has arisen in the middle of Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s children’s civil trial against AEG,” Mesereau said. “AEG’s lawyer got up in his opening statement in that courtroom and said it was going to get ugly, suggesting he’s going to try and vilify [Michael's reputation].” Mesereau also points out that Robson’s allegations directly contradict his testimony in Jackson’s 2005 criminal trial, in which Robson testified that Jackson never once molested him. He now says he had “repressed memories” — but Mesereau ain’t buyin’ it. “I don’t know who’s influencing him one way or the other; I don’t know why he’s been induced to apparently change his very strong and very powerful [previous] testimony,” the attorney said. “And remember, he didn’t just give testimony in the courtroom. He did some interviews after the trial where he said nothing ever happened.” Helen Yu, one of the lawyers representing Robson told RadarOnline.com: “Mr. Robson has had NO contact whatsoever with AEG whatsoever regarding their case. It’s false and untrue that AEG had any contact with Mr. Robson before his claim was filed.” The way this is worded is interesting…Robson hasn’t had contact? how about his lawyers? The only one profiting at the moment is AEG who would want to do the damage in the media and taint the jury’ s and public’s image of Jackson. Robson would need the money, in August 2011, Wade claims he’d be working on Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour, except, Wade didn’t in the end. Due to his son getting ill the job went to Jamie King, who “coincidentally” also replaced Wade on the Britney Spears’ Circus Tour. Wade also lost out on working in Vegas on the Michael Jackson One’s residency to – oh dear- Jamie King and that show just happened to be having a huge press release the same day TMZ broke the story about Wade’s sexual abuse claims. Hmm, losing out on dancing in the show of the icon you’ve idolized all your life to the point of obsession by being overshadowed by a hated rival, not being able to deal with his death, rumours of a divorce. From the day that he was three Wade wanted to be a Mini Michael on stage Wade had a life long Michael Jackson obsession, only unlike other fans he got to be part of his life. Could it be that after the Jackson related let downs -due to the same rival- and the death of his icon and mentor Wade was ooverwhelming by grief and rage that he doesn’t know what to do with? A feeling of being let down by Michael -because he died? An easy target of manipulation by psychiatrists hungry for PR and AEG. Repressed memory is the most convenient way to go, as look: How clever, Wade’s repressed memory claim conveniently gets Wade passed the red tape of the statute of limitations for filing a creditor’s claim also the repressed memory would come to Wade’s rescue and protect him from any prosecution for perjury. Then we ask: why would a 31 year old guy see a child psychiatrist who would tell him he has suffered from repressed memories and why would he then wait for over a year to not seek justice but a creditors claim for lots of money? Why? Because Wade is following a blueprint similar to the prior accusers Chandler and Arvizo. Even the way the “abuse” came to light is similar: Jordy and Gavin both had to either be drugged and/or told by either a parent or psychiatrist that they had been abused. And now, ‘coincidentally’ Wade is being told he has repressed memories of sexual abuse by HIS psychiatrist. Furthermore, the Chandlers and the Arvizos sought monetary gain overall. As soon as the Chandlers received a paycheck, they dropped the criminal charges even though they still could have pursued them. During the 2005 trial, it was discovered that instead of reporting the alleged sexual abuse to authorities FIRST, the Arvizos contacted the SAME civil litigation attorney the Chandlers used in their civil suit against Michael to inquire about their options to file a civil lawsuit for sexual abuse. That attorney recommended criminal charges be pressed first and thanks to TMez we know that the attorney advised such because it would make civil litigation easier. Conveniently all this keeps the accusations of Jackson’s friends and family out of the press, as the media has jumped on the accusations outside of the court. All the old accusations, that were already litigated are being dusted off to remind the public, all the stories are repeated, not the fact they were all based on lies by money hungry people. Blanca Francia – In 1993 she was paid $20,000 by Diane Dimond’s Hard Copy to say she saw Jackson shower nude with Wade Robson. It later came out she had been FIRED for stealing and looking in other employees purses and at Jackson’s 2005 trial Wade Robson testified he never showered with Jackson and had lied for money. The so called Hayvenhurst 5 (five bodyguards: Leroy Thomas, Morris Williams, Donald Starks, Fred Hammond, Aaron… White) were paid $100,000 by Dimond’s Hard Copy to say they were fired from Encino because they saw Jackson behave inappropriately with young boys. But at police depositions they admitted they never saw anything. The Neverland 5 (Kassim Abdool, Ralph Chacon, Adrian McManus, Sandy Domz and Melanie Bangall) were paid at least $32,000 by various tabloids to say incriminating things about Jackson as well as to sell gossip about him and Lisa Marie Presley. Three of them testified at Michael’s 2005 trial – they were all proven to be liars and opportunists. Phillip LeMarque and Stella Marcroft (a couple who worked at Neverland for 10 months in the early 90s) – were offered $100,000 for their made-up stories, but it wasn’t enough for them, they wanted $500,000. LeMarque himself admitted it in court at Jacksons 2005 trial. And the list goes on. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. You can be sure that people like Terry George, the Quindoys, Orietta Murdock etc. were paid by the tabloids too!! Why would the media prefer to report on fake stories, instead of writing about what truly happened to Michael, as Charles Thomson wrote in his article on the 2003 trail states: “After the initial outrage, the Michael Jackson story slipped out of the headlines. There was little analysis of the not guilty verdicts and how they were reached. An acquittal was considered less profitable than a conviction. Indeed, Thomas Mesereau said in later years that if Jackson had been convicted it would have created a ‘cottage industry’ for the media, generating a story a day for years to come. Long-running sagas like custody of Jackson’s children, control of his financial empire, other ‘victims’ filing civil suits and the long-winded appeals process would have generated thousands of stories each for months, years, perhaps even decades.A not guilty verdict was not quite so lucrative. In an interview with Newsweek, CNN boss Jonathan Klein recalled watching the not guilty verdicts come in and then telling his deputies, “We have a less interesting story now.” The Hollywood Reporter noted that hastily assembled TV specials about Jackson’s acquittal performed badly and were beaten in the ratings by a re-run of Nanny 911. The story was over. There were no apologies and no retractions. There was no scrutiny – no inquiries or investigations. Nobody was held to account for what was done to Michael Jackson. The media was content to let people go on believing their heavily skewed and borderline fictitious account of the trial. That was that.” After Jackson’s death, Wade issued the following statement of remembrance and condolence to Jackson: “Michael Jackson changed the world and, more personally, my life forever,” Robson said. “He is the reason I dance, the reason I make music, and one of the main reasons I believe in the pure goodness of human kind.” Jordy Chandler: 1993 Gavin Arvizo: 2003 Wade Robson: 2013 Sources: michaeljacksonvindication2/SellingOutSouls

Alan Duke reports Tajs story on CNN
Los Angeles (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's nephew revealed Thursday that when he was molested as a child, Jackson "was a support system for me and my mom." Taj Jackson, 35, claimed he was a child sex abuse victim in a series of Twitter messages posted in response to Wade Robson's televised claim that Michael Jackson molested him. "I will not let them smear my Uncle's legacy," he tweeted. Robson, a dancer who frequently visited Jackson's Neverland Ranch as a child, called Jackson "a pedophile and a child sexual abuser" in an interview Thursday on NBC's "Today Show." He said Jackson "performed sexual acts on me and forced me to perform sexual acts on him" from ages 7 to 14. Apparently Taj Jackson, one of three sons of Tito Jackson and co-guardian of Michael Jackson's children, posted a series of Twitter messages in defense of his uncle, Michael Jackson. "I hate that Wade made me do this, this way," Taj Jackson tweeted. "But since my uncle Michael is no longer here to defend himself. I will." "I am writing these words knowing that the minute I press send, my life will never be the same afterwards," he tweeted, before claiming in another tweet that he was sexually abused as a child by a relative. Michael Jackson "was a support system for me and my mom," he tweeted. "He wrote a letter to her that many have seen already, u just didn't know what it was about." He posted a photo of that handwritten note from Michael Jackson to Taj's mother Dee Dee Jackson: "Dee Dee, Please read this article about child molestation and read it to Taj, T.J. and Taryll. It brings out how even your own relatives can be molesters of children, or even uncles or aunts molesting nephew or nieces. Please read. Love MJ." It was his own childhood experience that qualified him to question Robson's accusations, he said. "That is how I KNOW Wade is lying. Because I AM a survivor." Robson, now 30, denied in testimony at Jackson's child molestation trial in 2005 that he had been molested by the singer. Jackson was acquitted, partly based on the testimony of Robson, his sister and his mother. Tom Mesereau, the lawyer who successfully defended Jackson in the trial, said he was one of his strongest witnesses. Robson said Thursday that his denial was the result of Jackson's "complete manipulation and brainwashing" of him. "Don't forget I was living at Neverland when Wade testified during my uncle's case," Taj Jackson tweeted. "I sat there and ate dinner with him and his family." Robson, who filed a creditor's claim against Jackson's estate this month, insisted in the NBC interview he was not now coming forward because of money. "The idea that I would make all of this up and put myself, my wife, my son, my entire family through this extremely stressful and painful experience all for the sake of money is completely incomprehensible," he said. Taj Jackson's tweets challenged Robson's explanation. "What people will $ay and do for money and to $tay relevant is $ickening. De$perate times call for De$perate mea$ures. I will not sit back and let someone flat out lie about my uncle. PERIOD." "I always told my uncle Michael that I would take a bullet for him," he tweeted. "I mean it today just as much as I meant it back then." Taj Jackson was appointed as a co-guardian of Michael Jackson's three children last year. http://edition.cnn.com/2013/05/16/sh...son-sex-abuse/

Frank Dileo's lost emails could be very interesting:Michael Jackson manager's e-mails found, could be key in AEG trial By Alan Duke, CNN updated 10:29 PM EDT, Fri May 17, 2013 http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/17/showbi...arebar_twitter ![]() Frank DiLeo's laptop couldn't be found after Jackson's lawyers subpoenaed it AEG's lawyers represented DiLeo's estate in the fight to stop the subpoena Another lawyer kept a copy of the manager's e-mail file Jackson lawyers argue AEG forced Michael Jackson to take DiLeo as his manager Los Angeles (CNN) -- A cache of e-mails believed lost when Michael Jackson's last manager's laptop disappeared could become key evidence in the wrongful death trial against AEG Live. Lawyers for Michael Jackson's mother and three children don't know what they'll find in Frank DiLeo's e-mails, but they are hoping it will support their contention that DiLeo was beholden to the concert promoter and not to Jackson. Jackson changed managers twice in the last three months of his life. In late March 2009, he hired Leonard Rowe -- one of his father's friends -- to replace Tohme Tohme, the manager who initially negotiated the deal with AEG for his "This Is It" tour. Jackson lawyers argue that AEG Live forced Jackson to take DiLeo, who had worked for him off and on for decades, as his manager in May 2009 because they did not want to work with Rowe. Their contention is part of their larger argument that AEG Live executives were liable for Jackson's death because they hired, retained or supervised Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician convicted of involuntary manslaughter. AEG counters that it was Jackson who chose and hired Murray, not them. AEG lawyers argue that Jackson was responsible for his own death and that drug addiction led to his bad decisions. The coroner ruled his death, which came near the end of preparations for a series of comeback concerts, was caused by an overdose of the surgical anesthetic propofol that Murray was using to treat Jackson's insomnia. AEG Live contends its executives had no way of knowing the doctor was using propofol in the privacy of Jackson's bedroom. The Jacksons are seeking billions of dollars in damages, equal to what Michael Jackson might have earned if he had not died on June 25, 2009. The Los Angeles trial began three weeks ago and is expected to continue into July. The lawsuit contends AEG Live ignored warning signs about Jackson's health in his last weeks, and instead of getting him help they pressured Jackson and Murray to have him at rehearsals. DiLeo would have been part of that pressure, they contend. "Get him a bucket of chicken," DiLeo said on June 19, 2009, in reply to concerns about Jackson's weight loss, makeup artist Karen Faye testified last week. "It was such a cold response, it broke my heart," Faye said through tears. The next day -- June 20, 2009 -- DiLeo left a voice mail on Murray's cell phone. "I'm sure you're aware he had an episode last night. He's sick. Today's Saturday. Tomorrow, I'm on my way back. I'm not going to continue my trip. I think you need to get a blood test on him. We got to see what he's doing?" DiLeo's e-mails were recovered after what the judge called "a lot of red tape and kind of cloudiness," that included the AEG's lawyers also representing the estate of DiLeo, who died in 2011, in fighting the Jacksons' subpoena for them. "Because (DiLeo's widow) didn't have litigation counsel, we're representing her for the limited purposes of responding to that subpoena," AEG's lead lawyer, Marvin Putnam, told the judge. Soon after an Ohio court ordered DiLeo's estate to give his laptop and e-mails to the Jackson lawyers, the AEG lawyers -- in their other capacity representing the DiLeo estate -- reported that they could not locate the computer or e-mails. Jackson lawyers, however, learned that the DiLeo estate's previous lawyer -- Pennsylvania lawyer David Regoli -- kept a copy of the e-mail files. For the past several weeks, however, the AEG lawyers argued he had no authority to provide them to the Jacksons' lawyers for use in the case against AEG. But in a phone call to the court this week, Regoli said he advised DiLeo's widow, Linda DiLeo, that "in my opinion, it was a conflict" for AEG's lawyers -- from the Los Angeles firm O'Melveny and Myers -- to represent her in the matter. "She said that she never signed anything with O'Melveny and Myers to authorize them to represent her, and as of this moment they are not representing her anymore," Regoli said. Linda DiLeo then rehired Regoli, which allows him to send the e-mails on to the Jacksons -- after removing any that are personal or not relevant to the case. "I think I can give the court my assurances that I'll go through the documents that I have and I'll go through the e-mails, and anything that is related to the subpoena, I would obviously turn over," Regoli said. As for the missing laptop, there was a simple explanation. Linda DiLeo "had told me her daughter had given it to a friend who needed a computer," Regoli said. "It wasn't a very new computer." While the Jackson lawyers wanted to explore how AEG's lawyers came to represent the DiLeo estate in Ohio, the judge declined exploring the matter. "All we know right now they're not representing her, and that's enough for us," Judge Yvette Palazuelos said. The trial's fourth week starts Monday morning with AEG's chief counsel, Shawn Trell, on the witness stand. Jackson lawyers are expected to grill him about the contract negotiations with Michael Jackson and Murray.

Great blog: This Screencap Says It All! Michael Jackson Is The Ghost Over Wade Robson's Right Shoulder. But Is It A Ghost Of Pain...Or Of Guilt? This Screencap Says It All! Michael Jackson Is The Ghost Over Wade Robson’s Right Shoulder. But Is It A Ghost Of Pain…Or Of Guilt? Somebody’s out Somebody’s out to get me They really wanna fix me, hit me But this time around I’m taking no s… Though you really wanna get me You really wanna get me-Michael Jackson, “This Time Around” I’m starting to become convinced that too much public speculating on Wade Robson’s next moves may be a dangerous practice. I am sure that Robson and his attorneys are keeping a close eye on what the media is saying. I also believe they may very well be lurking on MJ blogs, forums, and social media sites in order to tailor their story and course of action. Case in point: When the repressed memory angle was so thoroughly debunked and ridiculed, the story changed. When many scoffed at the idea of filing only a creditor’s claim for sexual abuse, boom! It suddenly became a civil suit as well. When I started drafting Part One of “Wade Robson: What the Heck Is Really Going On?” I correctly guessed that his next move would be to to go to the media…but I had no idea that the announcement of his Today Show interview would break the very day I posted it! But nevertheless, the gambler in me can’t resist the urge to make one more speculative bet. And I’ll be willing to wager I’m not too far off. Perhaps being able to second guess Wade’s next moves might not be such a bad idea, though, as doing so can effectively arm us for the counter punch. Shortly after his Today Show interview, Robson released this statement: “I hope to inspire other molestation victims to come forward.”-Wade Robson That certainly seems like a very noble sentiment. Oh, but wait… Remember this tantalizing story from a few days ago, courtesy of The Daily Star? TWO more alleged child abuse victims of Michael Jackson are preparing to file lawsuits against the late King of Pop’s estate, it was revealed yesterday. A legal source close to the singer’s family confirmed: “One is in the public eye, the other is not. “They are both telling the same story of regular and repeated molestations.” The bombshell claims come ten days after top Hollywood choreographer Wade Robson launched his claim for compensation from Jackson’s estate. Australian Robson, 30, alleges he was “systematically” molested for seven years during his childhood at Neverland Ranch, where he was a regular guest of the Thriller singer. Both the other victims waiting in the wings claim they too were subjected to “years of abuse,” according to the legal source, who added: “They are waiting to see what happens in the first action.” Robson was a key defence witness in Jackson’s 2005 trial, at which the star was acquitted by a jury of seven counts of child molestation and two of administering “intoxicating agents” to a 13-year-old boy. His U-turn was slammed by Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the Jackson estate who described his lawsuit as “outrageous and pathetic”. But Robson’s lawyer Henry Gradstein hit back: “Jackson was a monster and in their hearts every normal person knows it. “My client has lived with the brainwashing of a sexual predator until the stress and burden of it crushed him.” Let’s keep in mind that this is still only an unconfirmed tabloid story, and so far The Daily Star is the only source that has reported it. But it’s odd that long-time Michael Jackson detractor and backstabber Stacy Brown had wind of it even before the story broke: stacy brown NOW it’s all starting to come together, and it doesn’t take rocket science brain power to figure it out. I believe sincerely now that Robson is setting the stage with that statement-not so that other child abuse victims in general will come forth-but so that other Michael Jackson “victims” in particular may come forth, to help corroborate his own story (got to hand it to him, it’s a smart move to sidestep the credibility issue of his story). At first I brushed these alleged “cases in the wings” off as being solely about money, based on the comment that they were waiting “to see what happens in the first action.” Now I have a different assessment. I don’t believe they are waiting to see how the payout goes. I believe they are waiting on the cue from Robson and/or his attorneys, so that this can be set up and staged to look like those other victims now having the courage to “come forward.” Except that I’m willing to wager these “victims” were personally cherry picked by Robson or his attorneys months ago. Who might these potential backups for Wade be? Well, none of us know for sure, but here is an excellent breakdown of the possibilities: http://michaeljacksonvindication2.wo...-of-molesting/ And if that proves to be the case, then that means this thing is a whole lot bigger than even what we’ve been led to believe so far. It will prove this to have been a very deliberate, very orchestrated, and coldly calculated plan that has been in the making for MONTHS (if not longer). The big question that remains…who is really the evil mastermind behind it? Is Robson acting alone, out of his own greed and ulterior motives, or does he have a sponsor? At this point, I don’t have those answers. But clearly, Michael’s lyrics to This Time Around continue to have relevance even in death. And are more chilling than ever. ![]() http://www.allforloveblog.com/?p=8122

An AEG Live accounting executive testified Monday, May 20, 2013, in a Los Angeles courtroom that the company spent $24 million on preparations for Jackson’s ill-fated “This Is It” shows, however never paid the singer’s personal doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter because a fully-signed agreement was never obtained. LOS ANGELES (AP) — AEG Live LLC did not conduct any background checks or supervise the doctor who was later convicted of killing Michael Jackson, a corporate attorney testified Tuesday in a lawsuit claiming the concert promoter was negligent in hiring the physician. AEG Live General Counsel Shawn Trell told jurors that no legal or financial checks were done involving Conrad Murray or anyone else who worked as an independent contractor on the "This Is It" shows. Jackson's mother Katherine is suing AEG claiming it failed to properly investigate Murray, who was deeply in debt when he agreed to serve as Jackson's tour physician in 2009 for $150,000 a month. Trell said he thought a background check would be appropriate for people working in financial roles, but not tour personnel who weren't employees of AEG. Murray's employment status is a central issue in the case. Katherine Jackson's lawyers contend he was hired by AEG, but the company denies it hired him and notes the singer died before signing the doctor's contract. Trell also acknowledged while testifying that numerous people in the company knew of concerns that Jackson's health was declining. Five days before Jackson died, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips alerted the promoter's parent company that Jackson had missed a rehearsal and didn't appear to be ready for his comeback concerts. "We have a real problem here," Phillips wrote in the message to the CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group. Trell agreed with a statement by plaintiff's attorney Brian Panish that company executives knew by then there was a "deep issue" with Jackson. Trell also said he continued discussions with an insurance broker about additional coverage to recoup AEG Live's investment if the tour had to be canceled. Hours after Phillips sent the warning email, attorney John Branca, who later became co-executor of Jackson's estate, offered to enlist a spiritual and substance abuse specialist to help Jackson, according to an email shown in court. On that same day, Phililps and others met with Jackson and Murray at the singer's home. Trell also testified on Tuesday that no one at AEG supervised or monitored Murray, who was convicted in 2011 of administering a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol to Jackson. Trell is considered the most knowledgeable person on numerous issues involving the shows, including contracts and Jackson's health. He has not yet been questioned by AEG's trial lawyers. Earlier in the day, Trell revised previous testimony in which he told jurors that tour director Kenny Ortega worked on "This Is It" without a contract. The lawyer said Monday that Ortega worked under an agreement forged through a series of emails but didn't have a signed contract. On Tuesday, he told jurors he was mistaken, and Ortega did have a contract that was not displayed in court. He said he was reminded of Ortega's agreement by AEG's trial attorneys. ___ Anthony McCartney can be reached at http://twitter.com/mccartneyAP
