 Obelisks were prominent in the architecture of the ancient Egyptians, who placed them in pairs at the entrance of temples. The word "obelisk" as used in English today is of Greek rather than Egyptian origin because Herodotus, the Greek traveller, was one of the first classical writers to describe the objects. When they accidentally kill an alien from a downed UFO (REF 119/120 approx) instead, SHADO intervenes and doses the guilty pair with amnesia drugs (decades ahead of a similar story device in Men in Black, and one deployed for similar reasons). Straker realises, however, that the drugs will not affect their basic motivation and, worse, he cannot reveal the truth to local legal authorities..
Earth is being continually visited and attacked by aliens from a dying planet and humans are being covertly harvested for their organs by the aliens.The alien race is never given a proper name, either by themselves or by human beings; they are simply referred to as "the aliens." Humanoid in appearance, the autopsy of the first alien captured reveals that they are harvesting organs from the bodies of abducted humans. 22 St Peter's Square, in Hammersmith, London, is a grade II Listed building with a former laundry that has been converted to an architects' studio and office building. The property is situated in the western corner of St Peter's Square, that was laid out and built from 1827, opposite St Peter's Church, Hammersmith.. In the basement of the rear of the building is the former studio of Island Records known as The Fallout Shelter, 47 British Grove. If today one looks compassionately at what has happened , what is happening, and what will happen, one will be able to see a strange figure standing before humanity: a distortion of the truly human form, in garments woven of shadows, a figure uniting in itself in its thoughts, sensations, feelings, and will impulses what has put humanity on a wrong track and gives every promise of taking it further on the wrong track. Deep within what is happening outwardly dwell those three shadow thoughts that have been described.
Whoever learns to see that figure in garments woven of shadows, has prepared oneself in the right way to look at something else: to look at the tree that can illuminate even today's darkness with its lights. Whoever is pure in heart and does not allow oneself to be misled by the threefold shadow – existence – antiquated symbolism, antiquated ecclesiasticism, antiquated materialistic science – will see what wills to shine in the darkness as a real Christmas tree, and lying beneath it the Christ - Jesus Child, illuminated anew by the Christmas light. This is the real aim of our anthroposophically(Wisdom of Man in his relationship to the Cosmos) - oriented science of the spirit: to seek the Christmas light, so that the Jesus Child, Who entered the world first to work and then to be understood, may gradually be understood; to illuminate in a modest way the greatest of all the events in earths existence.This is the goal of our anthroposophical spiritual science within the religious currents of humanity. People will not understand the light that this spiritual science wants to recognize as its Christmas light unless they have the will really to penetrate the three-fold shadow existence of our time. The times are serious. And whoever lacks the will to take them seriously will perhaps not be able in this incarnation to see what should truly be perceptible at this time to every human being of good will, there for the healing of the many wounds that otherwise mankind will still have to suffer. People of good will should take notice of what may be seen when the anthroposophical science of the spirit enkindles the Christmas light. The light is truly small, and those who profess it remain humble. They do not wish to extol it to the world as something special , for they know that now it appears small and insignificant , and many people and many generations must still come, to help what now burns dimly to become brighter. But even though the light is weak it shines on something whose effect within human earthly evolution is not weak something that is working powerfully as the deepest meaning of human evolution. The light illumines what we may call the birth of Christianity, the Christmas of Christianity. Along with the Easter meaning of anthroposophical spiritual science may this its Christmas meaning be understood. May many, many souls look forward in this spirit to the profound experience of the Christmas Holy Nights. They will then be able to feel that already a call is sounding through the world to contemplate the appearance of Christ, who awaited here on earth that moment when He was to meet death, in order in His spirit-life after death to give a new meaning to mankind and to earth evolution. My dear friends, let us feel something of this Christmas mood that is to enter our souls from spiritual science! I would like at this moment to begin Christmas solemnly, by expressing the wish – as my soul's innermost holy Christmas greeting – that you may experience the mood of consecration that wills to receive the new Christ - revelation. RS How can Humanity find the Christ again Christ’s Way of Passion was the enduring of the human karma of the Fall, that is, the path of overcoming the illusion of outward appearance and the elemental forces of shame and fear. Christ took this karma upon Himself and suffered it for Humanity as the representative of humanity. The words “He took on Himself the sin of the world”, are literally true for the debt of sin was discharged by the Passion of Christ. But in a still deeper sense these words of the Christian tradition are true : Christ took not only the consequences of human guilt upon Himself, but also the actual guilt itself. The sacrifice of Christ was greater than bearing the consequences of human guilt while he himself was innocent – Christ suffered the karma of the Fall of Humanity, not in the consciousness of His own innocence, but in the consciousness of guilt. His sacrifice went so much deeper in that He absorbed into His consciousness the guilt of humanity and experienced it as His own guilt. His love was so deep that He had identified Himself with humanity. He was the representative of humanity, not only as its Example, but also as its Conscience – a conscience filled full of the consciousness of human guilt before the Father. The consciousness of the innocence of Christ was to dwell in those about Him – in humanity – but it did not dwell in Him For he did not go to his Crucifixion with the consciousness of receiving injustice, but with the consciousness of accomplishing divine justice. The words, “It is finished”, handed down to us in St. John’s Gospel were spoken by Christ Jesus as He was dying on the Cross; tey do not sound like a last reproach, condemning the injustice of human judgement, but rather like the solemn proclamation of the justice of divine judgement. Now, therefore, it is the mission of humanity to be the more deeply conscious of the injustice of human judgement and the innocence of Christ Jesus. If the content of the conscience of the crucified Christ Jesus was consciousness of the guilt of the Fall, then consciousness of the guilt of the unjust judgement and crucifixion of Christ will be more and more, the content of the conscience of all who wish to be Christians.It is neither sentimentality nor mystic rhapsody, but a fact of every clearly conscious experience in spiritual knowledge, that the judgement on Christ Jesus was pronounced by the whole of humanity, and that, therefore, the whole of humanity shares the responsibility of it. For all the forces of human nature took part in the judgement of Christ; representative characteristics of all mankind sat on the judgement seat at that time, and the result of their collaboration was the Crucifixion. It is important – and in the future will become more and more so – to awaken a consciousness of the fact that it was we who judged Christ. For just as it is true that in some form or other doubt, hatred, and fear exist in every human, so it is true in some form or other Pilate, the Council of the Elders, the denying Peter, yes even the traitor Judas, dwell within every human. And if their exists in humanity the Pilate-force, the force of the Council of Elders, the denier’s force, the traitors force, why should there not also exist in Humanity a consciousness of the guilt of Pilate, the Sanhedrin, of Peter, of Judas ? Are we to be held innocent merely on the ground that forces dwelling in us operated at that time through other individualities? And if we are to speak of those who were directly concerned with the sentence passed on the God-man, would it not be fairer to remember, in judging them, that Judas for instance judged and condemned himself, and Peter suffered the martyr-death of crucifixion, asking in humility that he might be crucified head downward because he was not worthy to be crucified in the same position as Christ … P29 Anthroposophical studies of the New Testament by Valentin Tomberg |
