Don't know where you got that idea from.

I think history records after splitting with Edison, Nikola Tesla beat Edison in the much publicised ac/dc battle standard's war and went on to build the first ac power generation station at the Niagra Falls for Westinghouse.

They do say that Tesla was gifted with a photographic memory and had access to the Vatican Library

Tesla had more than a photographic memory. He had the power to perfectly visualize his inventions before putting them together. Because of this he did not need to time intensive drafts on paper first.

How could Tesla have had access to the Vatican library? What is your evidence for that. Tesla was not Catholic. He was Orthodox Christian. Teslas father was a Serbian Orthodox priest and his mother was the daughter of an Orthodox priest. From the 10th century there has been a huge rift between the two (christian) religions.

Yes your right Tesla was the son of a Serbian Orthodox priest who rose to the rank of Archbishop.

But as stated in this article here;
http://bibliotecapleyades.lege.net/s...pol_bush19.htm

"Tesla had the opportunity to study a variety of topics contained in his father’s personal library. As a young boy, he accompanied his father on trips to Rome, where he was able to study the lesser-known works stored in the Vatican’s vast scientific repository".

Lightbulb Nikola Tesla Discovered the Electric Scalar Wave.

Nikola Tesla experimentally discovered the electric scalar wave. His work was suppressed, appropriated and derailed. He was shut down by Westinghouse and others - and lived the rest of his adult life in a state of isolated dejection and poverty. In the meantime his work formed the basis of 'hidden' technologies derived from this suppressed branch of physics - while 'Industry' publicly went about installing the AC/DC infrastructure that has bound people to a power-bill ever since. Scalar waves are distinct from electromagnetic waves and have been purposely kept out of the realm of mainstream public 'science'. James Maxwell's third equation (derived from papers that he published 1861 and 1862) had put the scalar part to zero - and it was left that way, despite the fact that Maxwell - who wrote the first exposition of electromagnetic theory - had attempted before his death to debate whether or not it should be left at zero. Adherents of 'classical' field physics have since been discouraged from following that line of enquiry because there had supposedly been no way to "detect" the scalar component of a wave. Recently, the sister waveform of the electric scalar wave, the magnetic scalar wave, has been openly discovered by field physicist Professor Konstantin Meyl. It is a wave form that was most likely understood at the time of WW2, or earlier - following on from work appropriated from Tesla. It has been put to covert use by various agencies since at least the seventies, though possibly earlier, in weaponised form. The work of Konstantin Meyl now allows the magnetic scalar wave to be irrefutably detected and measured, which - even if a century too late - serves to reunite the work of Nikola Tesla with the current advent guard of mainstream field physics.
