Default ahhh an ice cold beverage, sounds nice dosen't it

on a hot sunny day as you relax in a bear garden, the sun beaming down and an ice cold drink in your hand, maybe you ask for a slice of lemon or lime to accompany your nice ice cold beverage to add a little extra zing and ofcouse to count as one of your 5 a day fruit n veg, ahhhh sounds nice,,, or does it...

A new study found that the lemon slices you get on the side of your glass may be spiking your beverages with bacteria,
A total of 25 different types of germs were found on 53 out of the 76 lemons that were sampled. Some were fecal in origin (either from dirty fingertips of the restaurant employees, or from meat-contaminated cutting boards and knives), while others were types commonly found in saliva, on the skin and in the environment,
Although there have been no reported outbreaks of illnesses attributed to lemon slices in beverages, every microorganism that was recovered had the potential to cause a variety of human infections. Establishment of an infection would depend upon the numbers and types of germs involved, the general health and age of the person and whether the person had chapped lips or a cold sore on the lips or gums.

Did you know that you shouldn't eat peanuts that are place around the bar counters as treats, because many people who eat them haven't washed their hands after going to the toliet. This also spreads germs to many people's toilet issues. They same as when abroad at some hoilday resorts, to be careful when having ice cubes in drinks, salads and ice creams. Just makes you wonder what we are eating.

It makes you wonder what germs are contained in sauce bottle that appear on many tables at some restraunts, no one really knows who's interfered with them. Many have residue still clinging to the sides,Ugh. Thank goodness a lot of places now have the sachets where it is only you who can handle them. I know we still have to eat and it's just scary to think what kind of bugs are around? We have all got to eat a peck of dirt before we die, but germs I think I will be careful in the future.

I have been told by restaurant staff (and observed myself) that very few kitchen staff take the time to wash salad greens before preparing salads, despite that salad ingredients (lettuce mixtures particularly) have been crawled on by flys and other insects in storage, are handled by various people during picking and packing for market, and are often sprayed with anti bacterial solutions to keep them 'fresh' prior to being packaged and delivered in bags or crates to restaurants and cafes.

Bon appetite

Now you see I suspect this report very much, because a Lemon is a highly acidic fruit, which is added to most cleansing products for "freshness and zest", and interestingly a major source of Vitamin C.

Fact of the matter is IMO they are trying to reduce vitamin intake more and more and scaremonger reports like this so you don't take the lemon with the drink.

Its more important you don't take the Lemonade with the drink because of the E591 Aspartame shit in every diet bloody item on the market.

Nifty

You will not build up a resistance to things you are not exposed to ...kinda like how vaccines are supposed to work
