Yes I believe it does. To the point I even hesitate to enter this conversation. One would have to be very mindful indeed for it not to bring forth violence, most all desire to fight and train comes from a very dark place and is symptomatic of problems in our past and is linked to fear ( or at least overcoming it). This type of thinking is beyond even your more cerebral martial artists, and from observation of martial artists I know, even the ones who I consider to be exemplary humans, who are some of the most kind and peace loving people I know.......violence and fighting seems to find its way to them.
I believe this is a big part of the link between medatative philosophy and martial arts, is there a fighting way to peace? Ways around this? You can train just for health and fitness or just for fun and sport without thinking of the real world application and hurting your enemies but I do not know if that is going to negate the effects, there are many factors.
