Default What do you make of this Argos lamp?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...7C14418028.htm

If you go to page 1146 in the Argos catalogue there are 3 of these displayed in a row. Also this lamp is prominently displayed on Lorraine Kelly's breakfast show.

Looks to me like a maori fishing hook design.
Quite a common design for various things.

Bit too chrome for me.

It does look a bit like a Swan though, and everyone likes them, apart from their much vaunted ability to break your arms...according to mothers worldwide that is, I've never heard of it actually happening.

I've often wondered if this is actually true. I was always warned about it, but I've never actually heard of it happening.

Swans must have been really militant in the past, they've obviously been successfully oppressed in recent years.

How about you explain what you make of it? Clearly it means something to you otherwise you wouldn't have raised the question?

Or are we to assume you simply have an interest in knowing other people's opinions about random retail items?

Looks that way doesn't it?

I thought it probably foretold disaster in some unknown way, but no, they really are trying to canvas opinion about a lamp.

I've seen one attacking an elderly woman, she needed stitches to head wound.
It's partner was sitting on the eggs in the nest.

They can be bloody frightening,I seen one attack another swan who happened to enter the territory of the resident swans. The noise it was making as it held the 'enemies' neck in it's beak whilst whacking it with it's wing, had me shaking.

Satan, Oh no! Where do you find all these imaginary spooks?

If you know his address send him on to me, I'd like to win 190 million € on the Euromillions lottery.

The lamp is the shape of a 6. On the page where 3 are lined up it looks like 666. This is why the OP asked us about the lamp.

Wink What do you make of this Argos lamp?

It would make a darn fine cosh for any 'whodunnit' [made for TV] mini - series.
