Default Quantum of Solace

I very recently saw this and was extremly dissappointed that it's just about American intelligence overthrowing the Haitian government so they can get their oil. I don't understand how this is supposed to be fiction when this type of shit actually happens. Anyway James Bond's boss this woman 'M' always talks about the Americans as like being totally incompetent or in bed with the bad guys, while British secret agent goes around looking cool getting all these differen't girls and killing somebody every 5 minutes. Is this more to make American's look stupid and corrupt, or making the British look like rightous, genius bad-asses?
All CIA Hollywood type subconscious implants I'm sure. I remember in Goldeneye which came out 1995 M said "Unlike the American government we prefer not to get our bad news from CNN." I didn't really believe that was true about the American government untill 2001 when 9/11 happened. How could things be so blantant in the movies but in reality everyone acts like this type of stuff isn't reality and couldn't possibly ever be the case?

Default Quantum of Solace

As a James Bond fan, I hated the recent films as they're so loaded with terrorism themes and more like a Bourne film than what they should be about which is a fun, entertaining, sometimes funny and witty action-adventure film about a secret, sophisticated spy that only should exist at the movies. Casino Royale, although probably Craig's best so far, was uneasy to watch in some parts if that's the best way to describe it (oppressive, dark and too serious imo), and this is because of the propaganda in the media and the world we live in with this fake war on terror. What happened to the films of the 60s, 70s, 80s and even 90s? Quantum of Solace is no different I feel. They have gone the way of the Harry Potter films, depressing and dark.

It's been quoted a few times that Craig has been hailed as the ultimate Bond and the best since Connery; is it that what's been before (in terms of actors/characterisation) was just a way of easing in the real purpose/design of the character and using false characters to get to the character that they had originally intended from the very beginning? I kind of James Bond totalitarian tiptoe? lol. Just a weird thought.

James Bond died when they ran out of Ian Fleming books to film up.

I think that is a very good point, how people often see things in movies but then struggle to accept very similar events in real life.

A good example would be the next james bond after golden eye, tomorrow never dies, Synopsis from idmb:

Quote:
James Bond heads to stop a media mogul's plan to induce war between China and the UK in order to obtain exclusive global media coverage.
But then trying to convince people that the media could be controlled in such a way, all at the same time, is an impossible feat. But yet it seemed so plausible to them after watching the movie.

Another one would be die hard movies and the similarity with 911.

Die hard 1, in a building.
Die Hard 2, to do with an airport and hijacking (even though i believe no planes)
Die Hard 3, was the diversion and theft of gold etc.
Die Hard 4, was the so called "firesale", total control of communications and confusion and panic that existed due to this.

But try telling someone a story about 911 that involved similar aspect and they won't believe you, but after watching the movie they would most definitely say that it was plausible and could happen tomorrow.

True but for one thing, he died when Sean Connery left the role.

I found this video on youtube that says 007 is also the two ball cane symbol. I also thought that the new M being a women might be a referene to the Queen and how she definately has pull over intelligence if MI6 arn't just working for her. It seems if you watch the James Bond movies cronologically it's just whatever terrible thing the elite were doing during that time made into a really violent and sexual movie.
