I've always got a humming noise in my ears, I don't hear it during the day because when other sounds are entering my ears I can't perceive it but when I'm laid in bed at night and it's silence all around me there's a constant humming in my ears. I put it down to damaged ear follicles or something from too many loud nightclubs as a teenager. Either that or wax in the ears. lol

The most intense Hum I have heard on the East Coast atm..it is a constant drone noise and has been for the past few days but tonight it is the worst I have ever heard it..

I can't believe other people can't hear it!!

Out of curiosity, is the hum louder in the right or left ear. In my case it's the right. I can barely hear the noise outside, but inside the house it's deafening.

I don't want to seem like I am deriding this entire thread, but I noticed a low frequency hum when I got up at 5am for work.

It was a year before I realised that it was the refridgerator vibrating against a studded / partition wall. I moved the fridge away by a few cm's and the humming stopped.

If only all the mysteries were so easily answered...

It has been quite intense for the past few weeks a constant drone of a few second followed by a small gap and then repeated..I could actually hear this during the day if there is no background noise.

It is different to 'the hum' as I have heard that a few years ago but that got quieter then disappeared but this is something else and is difficult to ignore.

I suspect it might be something connected to the weather..would it possible to hear vlf (HAARP) if that was continuously 'transmitted' ?

I've got it also, I absolutely detest it. Doctors don't have a clue what causes it.

It's bad enough hearing the hum all the time while you're awake, but now I'm experiencing auditory hallucinations while waking up. Last Sunday it was a hot day and I was tossing and turning all night and had trouble sleeping. I briefly managed to get some sleep, but upon waking I can remember lying on my side looking at my bedroom door and hearing loud techno music playing inside my head. As soon as I fully woke up, it stopped. I thought that's weird, as whose going to be playing techno music at 5.30am in the morning. It was like a ghetto blaster right beside my ear.

After thinking about it further, I decided I was going to pay closer attention to what's happening while waking up and now I've noticed it's happening more often than not. Today, as I woke up I could hear a really creepy female voice calling me names and basically taunting me. Is it any wonder I've been waking up lately in an angry & bad mood. What's going on? Looking for a logical explanation, could a brain tumour cause this?

I don't drugs and I haven't been drinking, so what's causing these auditory hallucinations. Any ideas? Sigh! Mentally and physically, I feel like I need a long break from this reality.

Here is a worldwide map of locations where these hum sounds have been reported (map pinpointing locations)

The quantity of the reports is overwhelming, the reasons given for these strange noise runs the gamut from plausible to bizarre and the truth is no one really knows what is actually causing this phenomena. If you speak with those that have heard these strange sounds there is no doubt in your mind that they are real. Until the mystery is solved we can only sit back and listen!

Many peeps are familiar with the hum or ULF (ultra low frequency), these are perfectly natural occurances which can be observed within the magnetosphere.

However for some time now, (originally pioneered by the likes of Plessey) Extremely Long Wave (ELF) transmissions have been used for communications with Submarines. It is rumoured that the UK has an ELF transmitter that runs almost the entire length of the country.

There is considerable anecdotal evidence of increased bouts of depression and suicidal tendencies when exposed to ELF fields over a period of time. This came to light after a number of suicides of top researchers at Plessey and within the Electrical power substation (workers).

Hi and welcome 13thhour Good suff.

I was talking to an elderly woman that reasearched these type of noises years ago and she stated the pipeline running from the gas fields inshore station (Bacton) to the pumping was causing some people within a certain radius to hear a drone hum type noise and they apparently lagged the piping more..

Could the ELF fields causing depression be linked to the Bridgend teenage suicides (anything connected to Plessey in the area) or anything other than their own staff in the surronding area where they undertake the research or power station?

If you're hearing the hum in one ear and voices/music inside your head then search the net for 'electronic harassment' and 'targeted individual'. I too am a victim of this and have researched the topic for years. Don't believe all the bullshit disinformation about the potential causes, it's all deliberately posted to divert you away from what's really happening.
