Your looking for potassium iodide (KO). Potassium Iodate (KIO3) is as effective and has a much linger shelf life. I recommend Chuck Fenwick's site,
Medical Corps - http://www.medicalcorps.org/ where you can read all about KI and KIO3. I first met Chuck at an EMT conference up in Mt. Pleasant Michigan in the mid 1980's. He runs a top-notch organization and I'm glad to recommend him.

If you're in the UK, try these folks: http://www.reagent.co.uk/potassium-iodate

Get a supply for everyone in your household, including your dog.

Potassium idodie and potassium iodate are both very unhealthy things to put in your body.

It's much better to get a high quality iodine supplement like nascent iodine or thyadine.

Thanks everyone

tenzingnorgay - the link you gave says that potassium iodide is safe, its iodate that isn't

Iodide is given out by the govt's after a nuclear attack, its also safer to give to babies & children.
