one could theorize that the "anal retentive type" (those who "hold on" too tight, those who were told to "hold it, HOLD it!", don't let a bad one slip out now! CONTROL yourself!!) would flaunt a mass extinction event as the need to "hold on", and the fear of death so dominant, the controlling ego takes comfort in knowing that its not going down alone!
