Stefansson lived for a total of five years on an all-meat diet. Not five years in one stretch but five years out of ten years. It totalled five years when added up. Or so he said. But, he had a mixed diet before and after that. So what does it prove? There are meat fanatics on this forum who say that anyone could live for a few years on a vegan diet but their good health was built before that. Some say that a vegan would have to come from a long line of vegans before they could claim a vegan diet was healthy.
I think it's only tiresome for you.

You are the only one who writes responses to my posts.

Well, I guess I will be the new test case, since I cannot eat a plant-based diet. I will be sure to check in with you through the coming years.

Stay tuned...

I call them Eskimos and always will. I want people to call me Lord and Master but they don't. I didn't say they could have a vegan diet. I said they didn't have the good health some fantasists think they had.

It's not acceptable to me for other animals to be referred to in the ways they are. It's not acceptable to me that they are abused, hunted, terrorised and slaughtered by humans.

The fact is that vegans get all the protein they need.

for nutrition..., for a more balanced diet, for the taste satisfaction.., i know their are natural alternatives for such things as protein / omega acids.. - beans, seeds, nuts ect... but i would get very tiresome of eating the same products / taste sensations over the weeks - months, i like to mix everything up.. too much of anything is bad. I enjoy new foods, its a sensation of life =]

You need to create a subsection for the vegans
As I suggested previously.
Otherwise you need to monitor them constantly
as if it's a kindergarden.

merlincove has left a mod note and you feel the need to stir up more by such comments. You are not being helpful and showing that your mental age must be just right for the aforementioned kindergarten Plam!!

He's an idiot. He thinks laughing is unhealthy. He's got nothing better to do than to troll this forum with broscience. I think he gets some sort of sexual thrill from getting vegans all het up.

Question Vegetarians/ Vegans and Smells

I have noticed something recently that really is disturbing , I am a vegetarian and was before a vegan. I'm hardly ever exposed to meat but the other week when out with my bike some people had a BBQ and the smell of the meat really made me feel ill. I am not one of those who complain what others put on the plate but this made me ill. Is ther anyone else on here that experience difficulty beeing among meat eaters when they cook or having a BBQ? Or is it only my mind playing tricks?

I've been a vegetarian all my life. I don't really like the smell of cooking meat. Once I stayed for a holiday in a pub and every night they cooked a big roast in the room right below ours! yikes!

But I've never actually felt ill from the smell. Do you think the barbecue fumes might have done it?

I've noticed that meat has a rank, sweaty smell. I notice this when I pass butchers' stalls in the market. Bacon smells nasty. I used to like the smell when I was a meat eater.

Meat eaters often have an unpleasant smell about them. I don't know if it is their sweat or some gaseous emission.

one thing that has crossed my mind when it comes to smells and meat eaters contra vegetarians/ vegans is how animal reacts to humans. Maybe I have this wrong and maybe I am imagining but animals use smell as one way of communicating. Very often when taking my daughter to school we pass deers and hares on our way. Usually they would take a runner and hide in the woods but not now. Do they also react to smells and can they tell if we are harmless contra dangerous just by smell?

So much generalisations and ignorance.

Sweat is odorless!!!
The bad smell comes from the bacteria on the skin
which feeds on the sweat.

Plus the actual smell varies from person to person.
The 'recipe' of sweat is individual.
It does not depend so much on the food
but the personal hygiene.

I rarely have a bad smell.
Maybe because I don't sweat so much!
Like the queen!

There are certain type of food that do contribute
to bad smell - curry, garlic and strong spices.
That's why people eating these food and lacking proper hygiene
usually smell really bad.

And this idea about the animals being put off by human smell
it's your imagination and your tendency
to see yourself as somewhat superior.
In other words - bollocks!

Vegans generate hardly any body odor compared to omnivores. I could shower once a week and I'd still smell better than someone who eats meat because my meals a) don't putrefy during digestion and b) are void of foreign proteins and amino acids derived from the tissue/blood of another organism (yes, blood is at all times in the tissue of animals dead or alive, just like in humans).

About a month ago I was at a family function (and really hungry) and for some reason decided to conform and try some barbecued chicken. I recognized the taste, but I must have forgotten how awful it used to make me smell. I got about 4 hours of sleep that night because I couldn't stand my own BO - and of course showering didn't make it go away.

so no matter what plam says meat = body odor.

*edit*
mariag's thread about diet and body odor was merged here.

Thanks I noticed that my thread sort of vanished into this I don't mind people making fun of my statements, especially from meat eaters . Get kind of used to it by now. I still stick to that smells is an animalistic way of communicating and yes blood and dead flesh in the summer heat do smell like sh** and I have also noticed that my own body odor is better then some of the meat eaters I know . My hair is better too, I would never consider going back to eat meat again. My health has gained so much better and even my ADHD symtoms has reduced with my diet so it is for the best ))

I think you are wrong... about all of that lol. Of course food affects the way you smell and garlic and curry smell has jack squat to do with hygeine.
