good thread, i love tarot! when i'm at a point of stagnation, i lay out the cards and always find an immediate response. apart from the mind ascribing meaning, it also trains your intuition.

I used to have a pack of these cards, purchased books to help me understand and enjoyed the experience. I eventually began uderstand that when reading a card you forget its meaning and instead focus upon the person sat with you. The imagery of the card then "feeds" or tunes into you and images and ideas develop. (if that makes any sense - sorry)
For me, the Fool card always sings forth a character free of the burdens we others carry. Innocent, eager to learn and also a good friend. The Fool can also depict someone whose overcome a barrier - now free of its grip leading to victory, freedom and joy. Thats my view, but I only studied them for around 3 years before life had other plans for me

I heard and grew to understand that a person would have to be given a set of Tarot cards for them to be effective, I never got a set, boo hoo
My grandmother used to do readings with tea leaves, my mother had the 'gift' to. Her workmates would ask her to do the readings and cross her hand with silver. All the money raised went to charity.Basic symbolism, a fair ground act, I don't know, I do know that it is harmless . Tarot is a bit heavier.'specially if you're 'good 'at it.

The Fool Card in orign is named Seoul (Sun) its meaning has to do with the first step of initiation into the mysteries hence the symbolism of the cliff the walk into the unknown. The staff and bag once was a flute which is the first major step the mastery of the breath or pranayama exercises in empowering the psyche, empowering the mind.etc Its still the main starting point for a student in the Eastern Yogic systems. The name Seoul has to do with the spiritual sun.
The next card of the Mage deals with mastery over the elements the ability to invoke and evoke them. Invoke them into the soul and rotate them thought the centers.etc The whole tarot is an alchemical book. The Chariot card deals with the sun stone and its rotation thought the charka's.etc You can still see it in the ancient glip for the Raidho rune. |

The REAL Power is Love-UNION.....UNITY, the LINK or connection of ALL.
IT TRULY IS THAT SIMPLE FOR THE FIRST FOOL GAVE EDEN AWAY... AND FOR WHAT/ A FAMILY OF HIS OWN... THAT FOOL WAS THE FIRST FOOL THAT FELL IN LOVE WITH THE THOUGHT... TO HAVE SOMEONE LOVE HIM AS HE LOVED THE FOOL THAT CREATED ANOTHER IN THE FIRST PLACE... THE TRUE SECRET OF TAROT CARDS... THE WORD TAROT... TRUTH ALWAYS REVEALS ONE THING... THE TRUE MEANING OF LOVE FROM A DECK OF CARDS... ![]() IN LIFE IT'S MORE LIKE A ROLL OF THE DICE.. THE WORD FOOL... JUST TO PROVE IT... WHO WAS PUT TO SLEEP AND WHO DID ANOTHER FIND ASLEEP... F8L... Yes, thank you! In the future I am going to take this thread into further degrees of esotericism with further elaborations of the Trumps, so be on the lookout for that! Last edited by shinobishaw1982; 29-06-2012 at 05:37 AM. |

Will bring this thread back into action soon in the future with a focus upon the THOTH deck (as supposed to the Waite deck which was my main focus before).
