No mate, I don't think it's a cage. But what you said seemed to imply you thought it was.

You said NOTHING WHATSOEVER about a divine tool of freedom in your previous post.

This is all new from you. I was the first to talk of tools (which is becoming more apt as this thread progresses into a mire of nonsense)

You totally missed the point.

Spare us the waffle and just try to understand what I'm trying to say to you.

If you live in Oman then what makes you so such an authority on how Iran shutting down the internet is going to affect the "poor iranian people"?

Most moslem haters have never met a moslem.

I've not only met moslems but lived in Moslem countries.

Have a nice moslem girfriend too. Though she probably wouldn't define herself as a moslem.

And I'll be back with her again in a few months (long distance relationship, if she was here with me I wouldn't be wasting time on futile rubbish like this)

All the things you have been brainwashed to hate moslems for are not really true in reality.

They're humans too.

Not hate-figures for you to express your own inner tragedies.

I take it as a personal insult to have someone who I thought, might perhaps know me and my views by now, say I live in Israel.

Just get smarter dude. Being dumb and then rolling over and crying over it isn't good enough.

Just don't make the mistake in the first place.

Well, then do tell please where you live in the middle east, so close we can't imagine.

I am curious.

It begs a rather good question really, would we all be better off or worse off without the internet?

Not be long until we are the same. It's happening already.

We have received several emails, and a fresh report today that users in Germany and Portugal are met with the following notice when trying to access the Hollie Demands Justice campaign website.

"Forbidden – users from your country are not permitted to browse this site"

Does this campaign really frighten the powers that be so much that they must employ the power of internet censorship, powers that are only available to the State."

That's an interesting and quite alarming development.

I think that apart from news anything that can be said or posted or photographed in any sequence has been done a multitude of times over.

I see it as just more preparation for war with the west.

The west has it's own brand of censorship, especially in war time.

for the majority of people the result of the web being shut down would be facebook and twitter being out of date - you wouldn't know if your friends were waiting in a bus queue or taking a shit, and having to visit shops more often, buy newspapers and watch more TV.

This is why the web will never be shut down in the West, its a consumer paradise, everything you want at the click of a mouse, and the MSM can update their sites in real time telling you exactly what you should be thinking 24 hours a day instead of relying on scheduled TV programs. If you have money you can dominate search engine results and ensure the masses see what they are supposed to see and everything else is buried into obscurity.

There is no need to do an Iran style shut down in the West as its already 99% controlled anyway. The Internet is no beacon of light in a dark place, its just another media channel that is susceptible to manipulation. You will only find the truth online if you are already questioning the mainstream views and are really searching for it in the first place (the vast majority are not looking, hence they just have their programmed views constantly reinforced). In interweb terms if its not on fox news or the BBC site etc then effectively it never happened.
