Default Finally awake.. Time for breakfast.

So the other day while I was at my buddy's apartment, a couple Jehovah's witness' showed up at the door. We didn't invite them in as the apartment was one giant hotbox at the time but we took a couple of magazines. My friends would rather use them for filter, but I wanted to read them first. I've always believed in some higher power or a "god" but I've never been to church or read any religious literature so I figured, what the hell, let's see what this Jesus crap is all about. The two magazines were entitled "Who is God?" and "Planet Earth". I read through both of them, genuinely interested but needless to say, they could only answer questions with more questions and it left me thinking "That was bullshit, but now I want the truth".
I wiki'd the bible, in search for an old, completely unaltered piece of religious literature but didn't have much luck. So I said fuck it, and started loading up a video game for me to escape into.
Then I remembered that I downloaded a torrent a while back entitled "the path to enlightenment".. there's gotta be something in there!
The first thing to catch my eye was, "And the truth shall set you free".

I'm currently half way through the book and I already feel a sense of purpose to my life. Two days earlier, I was contemplating suicide.
I threw out my TV years ago, and I have been very selective over what I download and watch. I've cut myself off from 90% of the people I knew in high school (I dropped out in grade 12, 3 years ago) because it seemed all they cared about was drama, money, or how they could benefit themselves.
I got angry.
Angry at the world, angry at north america and our sheltered existence, angry at the people I loved for purposely creating drama, for dressing like their favorite TV characters, and angry at myself for giving in to it all for so long.
Then depression, chain smoking and bourbon and well.. you know what I'm talking about.

Now I feel as if I've been slapped in the face, snapped into action.. Finally awake.
Thank you, David Icke.

I like the way you use the word "Drama" I have been noticing this alot its a bit like Shakespeare when he said all the world is a play and so the drama is people acting out their roles, everyone role plays and to see that is to see how unreal it is. Its like theres predefined programmed reactions within people to external stimuli.

The more i see it the more I can break free of the role play, I no longer cry laugh mourn or get angry "on que" if at all.

Addictions are certainly a compensation for a perceived state of lack of not knowing who we are. Just watch someone closley next time they are gulping down some food and you will see each mouthful is a desperate attempt to fill that lack.

The reason Jesus is still popular is because the truths he spoke are eternal pick one... "seek first the beam in your own eye before looking for the splinter in the eye of your brother" I dont think anyone could argue that that exact advice is not exactly what is required in the world today and if your not who you are then it will always be eternally true meaning the teaching will be as useful in million years time as it is now considering we do not progress.

When the pharasies question him on heaven he said "The kingdom does not come with observations, say not lo here or lo there for behold the kingdom of heaven is within you!"

So you can see the hypocrisy of the christians who think Jesus the person is going to appear in the sky at some future date... LOL it does NOT come with observation get it!? The knights of the round table searched the four corners of the earth (symbolic of everywhere in this physical reality) and they did not find the holy grail because it wasnt to be found outside yourself.

Hello ebosiam. Glad you've joined us. That same book stood out in a bookshelf in a bookshop one day during a large crisis in my professional career just before last Christmas. Changed my view on everything.

Er, right. Living in a fringe reality will ultimately fail you. You can't just shun the world around you because you are unhappy with it.

Yes, you can. Don't try to dictate the way people choose to run their lives. You like being a part of society. For others, it isn't their cup of tea. There is nothing divine in our social structure and no reason to expect everyone to assimilate.

Do your thing and let others do theirs.

don't mean to be too judgemental, but @ 12 grade you were within months or weeks away from graduating
that's like running a marathon arrive next to the finish line, then, decide hey! i am not running anymore....

sorry.

i do not say this to make you feel bad -- had you been my friend or a relative i'd tell you the same, it's not
too late to go back & finish what you started..... the diploma is yours, you've earned it
