![]() ![]() But lots of silly teenagers have probably seen Crossroads (not the soap - the film) and thought it looked like a good shortcut to some awesome guitar skills. I'm sure I wasn't the first and I won't be the last.

I'll have to check that out. I wonder how many impressionable and/or young people have tried to sell their souls because of seeing these films? That's a little bit of a conspiracy right there. Hollywood programming to get youngsters and stupid people to sell their souls to the Devil

I love that series. I hate that everything I watch from the US is on a break right now, though!

![]() Though it wasn't to play the blues, it was purely because I was fascinated by all things dark. I too wrote a contract of sorts then proceeded to use my own blood to sign it... backwards if I recall correctly ![]() ![]() This all happened one lunchtime at school. I buried it at the top of the football pitch where we used to go for a smoke. |

I'm quite sure you would know if you've "sold your soul". I don't believe there's any literal beings to sell your soul to, anyway. Personally, I gave my soul over to the Yahweh/Jesus archetype a few years ago and I'm in the process of getting it back.

I think if you'd actually sold your soul to the Devil, you would know (I would think that impressionable kids messing about probably doesn't count, thankfully!). Demonic influence though (as opposed to actual possession, willful or not), is fairly pervasive throughout our society, IMHO, and much harder to discern. It's often very subtle. "The enemy" is very good at sniffing out our weaknesses and using them against us. (Sorry if that sounds paranoid, but sadly I think it's true.) James 4:4 Adulterers, know you not that the friendship of this world is the enemy of God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of this world, becometh an enemy of God. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the world. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. By the willful consent of the will to sin you join evil. You in some way obey demons or the world or the flesh (or all three together) and expand Satan's kingdom here on earth. You are owned by him. Demons possess many perfectly. They are not aware. Reason has been perverted and conscience has become erroneous. The way they think is the way Satan wants them to think. Jesus explains: At Nob during the Following Days. HIDDEN POSSESSIONS http://lambda.univ.rzeszow.pl/kb/poem/v3-527.htm Those who help demons; they also persecute Christ http://lambda.univ.rzeszow.pl/kb/nb44/nb44_feb_6.htm

![]() You see, kenan, I have no idea whether your version is true or not, I am too naive to have an opinion about it but it sounds like we are all sinners and we might be. But the question comes back to what about those babies who were born disabled? What about toddlers who gets abused and murdered? They haven't even established a sense of good and bad yet ![]() I can understand the bit that says 'you don't have to sign a contract' though. By consenting and doing it is binding. |

Bad things happen all the time, it's nothing to do with the person's sins, it just happens. That's the world we live in. Disability is not a punishment, illness is not a punishment, abuse is not a punishment, death is not a punishment, they are symptons of living in an imperfect world. Everyone is born into sin, it's what being human means, we all sin in some way, even Christians, we can't help it, the only sinless and perfect being is God, we try but we aren't perfect and we fail but we are forgiven. You need to make your own opinions, maybe it would be better to talk to God about it rather than ask people on a forum with many, many different opinions. You're just going to get conflicting and confusing answers here and I don't think that is very helpful for someone trying to form their own ideas. |

Thank you merla and zysmon.
While the bible or koran have some sensible advice, I'm sure some meanings are either mistranslated or interpreted different than how it was meant originally. We are all human after all. I guess there is absolutely no one that can tell us if G-d exists or not and whether religiously or how it's described here is right. So I must make up my own view on this and pick up the consequence of my right/wrong decision. But I much appreciated different point of views expressed here. Right, I'm off to rob an offie ...as if I can drink that much.
