Default The 72 Demons Of The Goetia. What is to be done?

Magick and the Art of War (The evocation of Armageddon).

One of the problems with the opposition to the current economic, religious and political establishment is that those who oppose the current establishment have various different counterproposals, inlcuding the regression to Christianity, Islam and the various religions of the old Aeon, and various forms of the "economic reformation" of Capitalism, tyranny (government) and religion, as opposed to eradicating these three central pillars of human evil.

Generally such establishment opponents consider themselves to be "good" and their establishment enemies to be "evil." I would include in a definition of "goodness" the characteristics of rebellion or resistance against evil and against established "authority (tyranny)," however the history of politics seems to show that while there is often popular support for revolution, revolutions or even "elections" generally result in new forms of tyranny which fail to solve the probems of economic evil and human slavery / impoverishment; this phenomenon is also mirrored in the "religious" arena where often the response to a corrupt religion or religious personality cultism is to start a new corrupt religion or to revere some new religious tyrant as the object of personality cultism.

God and the evocation of "good spirits."



One of the problems here is that when people speak of God or "good spirits," they are entirely influenced by their personal definition of the term "good." When the chaplains of the armies of the Anglo-American state terrorists offer religious rituals and services to their militia and when they bury their dead, they evoke (call upon) Jesus and the hosts of heaven; they constantly use the word "good." This process of hypnosis has been going on throughout history; all throughout the crusades, the slave trade, the Inquisition and numerous Christian wars, the Christians have been evoking what is "good" and have considered those who have evoked different deities to be "evil," heretical etc., however by an Anarchist definition of “good,” the history of Christianity would appear to be a history of the propagation of human evil in the name of goodness.

Similarly when we consider the oft quote Masonic mantra "Masons take "good" men and make them better" we are referring to their own personal definition of "good."

Let us consider the example of their current cult leader, Prince Edward George Nicholas Patrick Paul, Duke of Kent Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England and First Grand Principal of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of England; Grand Master of the Order of St Michael and St George; Royal Knight of the Garter; Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order; Personal Aide-de-Camp to the Queen; Order of St George and St Constantine, 1st Class; The Most Illustrious Order of Tri Shakti Patta, 1st Class; Knight Grand Band; the Order of the Star of Africa, Grand Cordon; the Order of the Renaissance, Grand Cross; the Order of St Olav, Grand Cross; Colonel, of the Scots Guards; Colonel-in-Chief, of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers; Royal Colonel, of the 1st Battalion, The Rifles; Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards; Honorary Air Commodore, RAF Leuchars; Honorary Air Chief Marshal, Royal Air Force; Colonel-in-Chief, of The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment); Chancellor of the University of Surrey and 'President of The Scout Association'



So let us consider the question, with regards to the current Masonic cult leader, “Has Masonry taken this "good" man and made him better?” What we have here is a person who clearly propagates tyranny (monarchy specifically), Capitalism, state terrorism, narco-terrorism, etc. Thus when the Masonic cultists speak of "good" and that they believe in "God," such terms are entirely related to their defintion of "good;" in reality they are referring to a psychological projection of the Creator which is the god of state terrorism, narco-terrorsm, tyranny, Capitalism etc.



Similarly with Christianity.



The economic system of Christianity is essentially Capitalism; the chosen political system of Christendom is various forms of police statism; the tyranny of Capitalists; a "good" Christian is generally considered to be a "good" Capitalist, an anti-Communist and a person who does "not" resist authority (tyranny) and the Capitalist system; this is a generalisation of the majority of Christians of course and would exclude the liberation theology movement (i.e., Marxist Christians) and Anarchist Christians who represent a tiny minority in comparison to the masses of Capitalist Christians. What I wish to point out is that the evocation by Christians of the spiritual forces of "good" is entirely illusionary; the term "good" appeals to most people linguistically but it is entirely subject to numerous subjective definitions.

Magick and the evocation of demons.

On the other hand we find that among those of the ilk of Crowley who have rejected the evil and hypocrisy of Christianity and whose spirituality is rooted in necromantic magick (the summoning of ancestral spirits), that it is often what Christians would define as "demons" which are summoned, since they are generally entirely unchristian archetypes and the Christians seem to define enemy dieties as demonic.



It is quite easy to understand why someone like the Masonic cult leader, the Duke of Kent who is a perpetrator of tyranny / monarchy, genocide, infanticide, Capitalist imperialist revolution and whose armies have littered Iraq and Afghanistan with the equivalent of 1000's of Hiroshimas of radiation, could be considered a "good man"who has been made better by Masonry by those who themselves consider genocide, infanticide, tyanny, Capitalist revolution, imperialism and nuclear war for "God" to be "good."




The Summoning of the armies of Heaven and Hell.


Since it is clear that, as the Christians have done throughout history, one can summon "good (by one's own personal definition of good)" spirits, as the chaplains of the Anglo-American Christian state terrorists do and then terrorise populations who consider the behaviour of the Christians to be "evil," it is clear to me that the summoning of "good" spirits is entirely illusionary, particularly since it is simply not possible to "judge" or "discern" accurately the spirits of the dead.

Submission and Domination.

The magickian using the Abramelin method summons "both" the armies of heaven and hell; the guidance of Abramelin the Mage which is exactly the "opposite" of the Christian tradition is clear; the Magickian is Master (or Mistress); it is the Magickian who seeks dominion, who gives commands, who demands obedience; the opposite method of this is the Christian "submissive" who seeks to be "possessed" and often states "come into my mind" and "take over my life;" this is the Christian recipe for mental instability and possession by ancestral spirits whom the victim will be unable to judge or accurately discern; the "bow down and worship me" temptation is exactly what the Christian submissives do in regards to their magickal relationship with the ancestral world; on the contrary, the Abramelin Magician demands "obey me;" he (or she) makes a list of demands to the gods; it is not an act of worship; it is the Magickian's will which is sacred, and that will is known perfectly by the Magickian whereas the will of the gods is impossible to discern perfectly anyway.

Slaves and Masters.


To use the language of the two archetypes of the popular BDSM culture (i.e., master and slave), the magickian who seeks to impose his or her will upon the armies of Heaven and Hell is a “Master” or “Mistress,” they are "dominants" whose own will is paramount; whereas the victim who seeks to be submissive and subservient is simply a “slave” and a “possession.” Whereas on earth one may communicate with a Master or Mistress and discern their will, when the submissive has Masters or Mistresses in the spiritual world it is almost impossible to discern their true nature.

Reincarnation and Afterlife Beliefs.

With regards to afterlife beliefs, the New Age movement is a mixture of reincarnationists, atheists (such as the LaVeyans) and Neopagans who hold traditional afterlife beliefs. Necromancy of course serves no function to those who are atheists or who believe strictly in reincarnation; in the latter case the spirit at the point of death is believed to simply migrate to a new body and there is thus no ancestral realm to communicate with; however in reality most reincarnationists (including the Hindus) appear to believe in a rather confusing mixture of afterlife beliefs “and” reincarnation; Hindu reincarnationists believe that the soul is everntually liberated after many lives and goes on to live in a heavenly paradise, however this does not explain the existence of Hindu demons and why they were not reincarnated; never the less for the Hindu there is still a realm of benevolent and malevolent spirits, despite this contradicting their reincarnation beliefs. I should out myself and state that I entirely reject the theory of reincarnation; however this “belief” can neither be proven nor disproven; it is simply a position I take based upon a lifetime of subjective spiritual experiences.

I should also point out that I do not consider the 72 Goetic spirits to be definitions written in stone; they simply represent archetypal ancestral spirits of which there are countless myraids, much like the 12 archetypes of astrology or the 22 archetypes of the major arcana.

The New Age (New Aeon).

The New Aeon movement is full of old hippies, pacifists, tree huggers, reincarnationists and those who believe that the current economic establishment can be defeated by the power of prayer or meditation or otherwise peaceful means; it is an eclectic mix of well meaning Canutes attempting to "hold back the waves," Unfortunately the Capitalist elites are entirely militant and similarly the resistance must be militant if it is to be successful; the mantra of "Magick is the art and science of briging about change in accordance with the will" is not simply a reference of some kind of meaningless ritualistic hocus pocus; the point of evoking the gods (ancestral spirits) is to manifest change on earth; change which must be carried out also by the militant will of earthbound agents.

The Evocation of Armageddon (The Apocalytpic Destruction of Capitalism).

There are generally rather disturbing passages in Crowley's alleged channelling of Aiwass from an Anarchist perspective; "trample down the weak" and so forth; however this entirely represents the behaviour of the Christian Capitalist militia who mostly have a disdain for Crowley; this is anyway an essential aspect of the "Art of War;" the point of war is not endless martyrdom, it is total victory, and this victory over the police states of humanity is one which I forsee can only be brought about by the application of advanced alchemy (science); in particular "nuclear" weapons.

The alchemist's quest was widely misunderstood to have been the attempt to convert lead to gold, when in reality it was the generally the attempt to convert mass to energy and light; this secret is a secret no more; unfortunately the the end result of this alchemical quest, the application of this science to war, will entail a global war the like of which humanity has no memory. It has been foretold, predicted, prophesied, and what has been written of this apocalyptic age will in time come to pass by the application of militant will; it is simply inevitable.

Praising and flattering the gods.

It is often claimed by Christians that they "love God (i.e., their own personal projection of goodness);" this "God" is also an "experience" which many claim to have, and yet they have no way of discerning the origin of spiritual experiences, whether the source is of malevolent or benevolent; a more important questions is whether "we" on earth are loved, admired and respected by the gods; for why else would they heed our demands; it is very unlikely that anything other than beings are low intelligence are impressed by to ritualistic flattery, praise, submission and subservience; such things are more likely to lead to a contempt of humanity.

Long ago I evoked the 7 angels (demons) of the Apocalypse and have since then sought to incite the world to nuclear war. My demands are the complete and total defeat of the Capitalists, their eradication from the face of the earth (the holocaust of the "chaff"), the destruction of all nations (governments), the eradication of all forms of organised religion and the creation of of New Heaven and a New Earth. While this is my true will and I have perfect faith that it will come to pass, I must point out that this is also the predicted in the Book of Revelation; however strangely enough, I expect those who will be the most resistant this will be the Christians themselves, who seem to represent entirely the anti-thesis of their alleged historical founder, who himself bears all the hallmarks of the "Master" magickian of his era, but whose legacy has given birth to all manner of evil and hypocrisy.

The point of prophecy and magick is not to predict the future, but to change the future.
The fulfillment of prophecy does not occur by "miraculous" means; it occurs when agents on earth utilise their own will and invoke (personify) such prophecies.

The second spirit is a Duke called Agares, he is under ye power of ye East and cometh up in the form of a fair Old man riding upon a Crocodill, very mildly, carrying a goshawke on his fist. he maketh them runne that stand still, and fetcheth back ye runnawayes. he can teach all Languages or Tongues presently, he hath the power also to destroy dignities, both supernaturall & Temporall; & cause Earthquakes. he was of the order of Vertues; he hath under his government 31 Legions &c: & this is [his] seale or Character wch is to be worne as [a] Lamen.

The Third spirit is a mighty prince, being of ye same Nature as Agares, he is called Vassago, This spirit is of a good nature, & his office is to declare things past and to come; and to discover all things hidden or lost &c: he governeth 26 Legions of spirits. This is his seal.

The 4th spirit is called Gamigin, a great Marquise, he appereth in ye forme of a litle horse or asse and then into humane shape he putteth himself at ye request of ye Master and speaketh wth a horse voice; he teaches all Liberall siences, and giveth and account of ye dead soules of them that dye in sin. & he ruleth over 30 Legions of Inferiors &c. This is his seal, wch is to be worne by the Magician when he Invocateth.

The 5th spirit is called Marbas -- he is a great presedent, and appeareth at first in ye forme of a great Lyon: but afterwards putteth on humane shape at ye Request of ye Master he Answareth truly of Things hidden or secreet, he causeth deseases and cureth them againe & giveth great wisdome & knowledge in mechanicall arts, & changeth men into other shapes he governeth 36 Legions of spirits. his seal is this.

The 6th spirit is Valefar -- he is a Mighty Duke, & appeareth in ye form of a Lion wh a mans head Lowring, he is a good femiliar, but tempteth those he is femiliar with to steale, he governeth 10 Legions of spirets, this is his seal to wearne constantly if you haue his familiarity. Else not.

The 7t spirit is Amon. he is a Marquis great in power & most strong, he at first appereth like a wolf with a serpents taile, vomiting out of his Mouth fleames of fire, but at ye command of ye Magician he putteth on ye shape of a man, with dogs Teeth beset in a head like a Raven, or in a Ravens Head, hee telleth [of] all things past & to come, and procureth love, and reconcileth controversies between freinds & foes, [1] & governeth 40 Legions of spirits, his seal is thus, wch is to be worne as afforesaid.

The 8th spirit is called Barbatos he is a great duke & appeareth when ye sun is in Sagittarius, with four Noble kings and their companions in great troops, he giveth ye understanding of ye singing of Birds, and ye voice of other Creatures and ye [such as] barking of dogs &c, he breaketh hidden treasures open, that have been Laid by ye Enchantment of Magicians, & [he was] of ye order of vertues, [of] which some part beareth rule still &c he knoweth all things past and to come: and reconsileth friends & those that are in power, he ruleth over 30 Legions of spirits, his seal of obedience is this. wch were before you &c.

The 9th spirit in order is Paimon; a great king, & very Obedient to Lucifer, he appeareth in ye forme of a man, sitting one a dromedary, wh a Crowne most glorious on his head. Three [There] goeth before him a host of spirits like men with Trumpets and well sounding Cymballs, and all other sorts of musicall Instruments &c. he hath a great voice, and roareth at his first comming, and his speech [voice] is such as ye Magician cannot well understand, unless he compelleth him. This spirit can teach all arts and siences, and other secret Things; he can discover wt ye Earth is, and wt holdeth it up in ye waters, & wt ye wind is or where it is, or any other Thing yu desire to know, he giveth dignity and confirmeth ye same, he bindeth or maketh a man subject to ye Magician if he desireth it he giveth good familiars, and such as can teach all arts, he is to be observed towards ye North west, he is of ye order of dominions and hath 200 Legions of spirits under him, one part of them is of ye order of Angells & ye other of Potestates [Potentates], If yu call this spirit Paimon alone yu must make him some offering to him & there will attend him 2 kings called Bebal & Abalam, & other spirits of ye order of Potestates [Potentates] in his host are 25 Legions because all those spirits wch are subject to him, are not allwayes wth him unlesse ye Magician compelleth them, This is his Character.

The 10th spirit is Buer, a great president and appereth in Sagittarius that is his shape when ye Sun is there, he teacheth Phylosophy [both] Morall & Naturall, & ye Logicall arts, & ye vertues of all hearbes & plants, & healeth all distempers in Man, & giveth (familiars) good familiars, he governeth over 50 Legions of spirits and this is his seale of obediance wch you must weare when you call him to apperance.

The 11th spirit is a great & strong duke called Gusoin [Gusion], he appeareth like a Xenophilus he telleth of all things past, present & to come: he sheweth ye meaning of all questions you can ask, he reconcileth friends and giveth honour and dignity to any, and ruleth over 40 Legions of Spirits. his seal is this, wch weare as aforesaid &c.

The 12th spirit is Sitri, he is a great prince & appeareth at first with a Leopards face, and wings as a griffin. But afterwards at ye command of ye exorcist, he putteth on a humane shape very Beautifull, Inflaming Men with womens Love, and women with mens love, and causeth them to shew themselves Naked, if he [it] be desired, &c. he governeth 60 Legions of spirits, and his seal to be worne is this.

The 13 spirit is called Beleth, he is a mighty king and terrable, ridding on a pale horse wth Trumpets and all other kinds of Musicall Instruments playing before him, he is very furious at his first apperance That is whilest ye Exorcist allay his Courage, for to doe that, he must hold a hazel stick in his hand, streched forth towards ye South & East quarters making a Triangle without ye Circle, commanding him into it by ye vertue of ye Bonds & chaines of spirits hereafter following, & if he doe not come into ye triangle by your Threats, rehearse ye Bounds & chaines before him, and then he will yeild obediance and come into it and do what he is commanded by ye Eorcist [Exorcist], yet he must receive him courteously, because he is a great king & doe homage to him, as the kings and princes doe that attend him, and you must [also] have allwayes a silver Ring on the middle finger of the left hand, held against your face as they do for Amaimon, This king Beleth causeth all ye love that possible may be, both of Men and women till ye Master Eorcist [Exorcist] hath had his mind fullfilled &c. he is of the order of Powers and governeth 85 Legions of [102v] spirits, his Noble seal is this wch is to be worne before you in the Time of working.

The 14th spirit is called Leraye (or Leraje) [written intra linea]. he is a Marquize great in power shewing him selfe in ye likeness of an archer, cladd in green carring [carrying] a Bow and quiver, he causeth all great Battles & contests, & causeth ye wounds to putrifie that are [made] wth arrows by archers this belongeth to Sagittarius he governeth 30 Legions of spirits, & his seale of obediance is this.

The 15th spirit is called Eligor [Eligos], a great duke, he appeareth in [the] form of a goodly knight carring a lance an Ensigne & a serpent, he discovereth hidden Things & knoweth things to come, & of warres and how the soulders will & shall meet, he causeth the love of Lords and great persons, and governeth 60 Legions of spirits, his seal is this, wch wear or else he will not appear nor obey you &c.

The 18th spirit is called Bathin, he is a mighty [and] strong duke & appeareth like a strong man wth ye Taile of a serpent, sitting on a paile couloured horse he knoweth the vertue of hearbes & precious stones, & can transport men suddenly from one Country into an other, he ruleth over 30 Legions of spirits his seal is thus to be made and to be worne before you.

The 20th spirit is called Purson a great king; he appeareth commonly like a man wth a Lyons face, carring a cruel viper in his hand, and ridding on a Bear goeing before him [are] many Trumpets sounding; he knoweth hidden things and can discover Treasures & tell all Things present past and to come; he can take a Body either humane or aiery, and answareth Truly of all Earthly Things, both secreet & devine, & of ye Creation of ye world, he bringeth forth good familiars, & under his government [power] are 22 Legions of spirits, partly of ye order of vertues & partly of ye order of Thrones, & his mark or seal is this, wch he oweth obediance to & [which] must be worne by ye Exorcist in [the] Time of acction.

The 29th spirit in order is Named Astaroth, he is a Mighty & strong duke, & appeareth in [the] forme of an unbeautifull angel, ridding on an Infernall like dragon, and carring in his right hand a viper (you must not lett him come to neare yu least he doe yu damage by his stinking Breath. Therefore ye Exorcist must hold ye Magicall Ring nere to his face and yt will defend him he giveth true answares of things present past & to come & can discover all secreets; he will declare willingly how ye spirits fell, if desired, & ye reason of his own fall. The 33d spirit is Gaap. he is a great president & a mighty Prince, he appeareth when ye Sun is in some of ye Southern Signes, in a humane shape, [Clm 849 reads: "He appears in the form of a doctor (medici, not meridii=southern as in Weyer) when he takes on a human form"] goeing before 4 great & mighty kings, as if he was a guide to conduct them along in their way. his office is to make men knowing in Phylosophy and all ye Liberall siences; he can cause love or hatred, and make men Insensible he can Teach yu how to consecrate those Things that belong to ye dominion of Amaymon his king & can dilever [deliver] familiers out of the custody of other Magicians; and [he also] answareth Truly and perfectly of Things past present and to come, & can carry and recarry [things] most speedily from one kingdome to another, at ye will and pleasure of [the] Exorcist, he ruleth over 66 .. Interesting posts, Commandante. I personally do not practice magick, I prefer yoga, martial arts, t'ai chi, meditation, prayer etc., but to each their own.

Forgive me for what may seem like a rather obvious question to an expert, but if all of these 'Goetic demons' are personified by the person who invokes them (ie. what one invokes one becomes), then isn't this a rather ephemeral play on the subconscious psyche of the magickian who wishes to increase his power (ie. impose his will and see his demands met) if the magickian doesn't actually believe in Hell or the literal existence of extra-dimensional / extra-planar entities that these demons are supposed to represent?

In other words, without faith in the existence of these demons as entities / actual other-worldly beings, isn't the act of invocation as damaging to the psyche as a dangerous delusion?

Or have I got that all backwards? Perhaps knowing them only as 'ancestral spirits' neutralizes any damaging effects on the mind of the magickian?

Would appreciate your wisdom.

Well I suppose that for the person who practices necromancy and who does not believe in the existence of the gods (ancestral spirits) and who is a materialist or strict reincarnationist, then from my point of view it all seems entirely meaningless, since there would be no gods (ancestral spirits) to evoke and it would simply be a form of delusion.

Yes, of course; we could have "faith" that a planet of blue cheese circles the sun, but it would not make it a reality; the shamanic experience of the gods however is generally based upon subjective experiences, which are by definition occuring within the person's consciousness; a person may receive a vision of a blue eyed, blonde haired Aryan Jesus and believe it to be true; so there are many dubious experiences in the subjective world which when subjected to reason make no sense, however generally the collective human shamanic experiences of the afterlife have certain commonalities; the evocation of the gods in conjunction with psychoactive useage generally bears fruit in a common testimonial, that of the perception that the ancestral world does exist and that interaction with human consciousness and is subjectively real; however it is pointless to pursue scientific proof of what occurs in the subjective realm.

In his introduction to the Goetia, Aleister Crowley describes the Goetic "spirits" as, quote, "portions of the human brain". What is actually going on is a type of psychoanalysis: the magician seeks to know himself, including those subconscious aspects. Some of those aspects are objectified as "Goetic spirits" and are investigated. If one particular "demon" represents an unflattering or negative part of his psyche, the magician then banishes it.

I think Thelonius that it is inevitable that those who are atheists (such as the LaVeyans) or reincarnationists will find it necessary reduce Crowley's channeling and necromancy to "psychology," otherwise their world views will make no sense; the idea that Crowley was a spiritualist who actually believed in the realm of the gods that he was evoking makes no sense at all to an atheist or a strict reincarnationist; in fact he appears simply as the height of insanity from such persepectives; there is always this tendency to turn a popular figure into a proponent of a person's personal belief system; this is certainly the case with the Christians who worship the God of Capitalism and propertyism and Buddhists who believe in idolatry.

Frankly those who wish to interpret Crowley purely from a psychological perspective would find a great deal of resistance from the psychological profession; the summoning and channeling of demons in the modern age is generally a fast track to incarceration in a mental hospital; unless of course one is part of the Christian establishment such as George "God told me to invade Iraq" Bush whose direct link to the voice of God is widely believed, or Elizabeth Windsor's claim to be Jesus' representative on earth to all Anglicans.

Yes, however, it does not follow that as I (and you) have immortal/eternal souls, that gods exist; however it may follow that the spirits of our ancestors reside within each of us, from the realm of mind and/or genetic (body) memory, and we may see this as the work of the gods, divine continuity, etc.

There is the famous story told by Bertrand Russell of a Solipsist (i.e., a soloist) who wrote a letter to him and stated that Solopsim is such a wonderful philosophy that he was surprised that there was not "more of us." Well the subjective realm is real but it is just not "empirical"; feelings such as love and the various human emotions are "real;" they constitute part fo reality, but if we ask "how long is love and how much does it weigh?" and "what is the height and colour of beauty?" such questions make no sense objectively; never the less such non things form part of our reality; similarly with what we would commonly define as shamanic, spiritual, metaphysical experiences; this does not mean that such experiences are "true," such as George Bush's claim that God spoke directly to him with regards to the invasion of Iraq.

There are numerous trip reports on http://www.erowid.org for example; such experiences may seem meaningful to the recipients, but if they have visions of an angel with 7 heads, it does not mean that such a thing exists.

Oh you Irish guys should meet up; there were quite a lot of beer fueled David Icke meetups last year in the South of England; you might need to make your own DI forum Guinness fests in Ireland.

Oh you Irish guys should meet up; there were quite a lot of beer fueled David Icke meetups last year in the South of England; you might need to make your own DI forum Guinness fests in Ireland.

Not sure about Ireland, but I did attend a few of the drunken DI forum meetups in and around Somerset last summer; generally the constant verbal fighting which exists on this forum seems to be non existant when you get a group of people familair with Icke's worldview together; such meetups seem to be devoid of the Christian and Masonic element and resembles more a group of stoned drunken kindred spirits; I would certainly recommend that your start something like that in Ireland. Most of the meet-ups are announced on the "Forum Projects / Meetings / Members stuff" thread here; you might consider starting an Irish meetup.
