A nosey thread
Which Bible do you read; my favourite is my Douay Rheims (although I have more than is perhaps healthy - a NIV study bible, 2 KJV (one of them a study bible on PC), a little old gideon and an REB

I too am awash with Bibles! I've got a NIV Study Bible, a KJV, a little Gideon one that was presented to me at school and another NIV (a mini one which is a handy small size but the print's absolutely tiny and hard to read!). I also have bits of the Bible on audio - selections from the NT (KJV version), selections from the OT (NIV version), and the four Gospels (KJV version).
I also have the Apocrypha (NKJV version)!
My favourites are the KJV for beauty of language and the NIV for ease of use (I like the study notes).
I also appear to have acquired the Book of Mormon but Heaven only knows where from, lol!
The Douay Rheims is the Roman Catholic translation, isn't it? I've heard it's a good one. (My father and his family are RC).

Rouay Rheims is indeed the Catholic one, with language similar to the KJV. Lol, my gideon is also from school (and I to have a book of mormon
from when I was at Uni (RS Graduate) but never got around to reading it
)

I have an old King James Bible that is old as Moses! It's so brittle I'm afraid to open it (it's more of a keepsake as it belonged to my grandparents) but the one I use is a NIV. When I search the Bible online I ususally go for the NIV also.

I have several NIV's and KJV's around the house which if I'm planning to read at length I prefer to use an actual book rather than read online. When I'm doing research into a particular passage or verse I use this site:

fantastic research tool, you can view the greek and hebrew next to the english translations...really provides great insight into the meanings. I also like strong's concordance to look up specifice words.

Yeah logos, there's actually quite a few, my most used are my sword, which is essentially a bible study suite, it has a lot of public domain versions. The other is the youversion bible app, this has all the modern versions. I dunno, my sword seems better, not only does it have the kjv with strongs. It also has the Matthews commentary. I like both, both support copying so you can use your phone to quote Scripture in your icke posts if you wanted.

Also just received my first hand bound premium bible from Allan's Bible direct website. Its an ESV buffalo goatskin, cheapest bible they had on there at £50, but worth every penny. If anyone is looking to get a posh bible, let me suggest bibledesignblog.com this dude knows what he's talking bout.
