Just wondering if poeple on here drink 'essiac tea' ? - I just ordered a couple of months supply to give it a try rather than drinking coffee. I am not a big drinker of coffee, 2 cups in a day and not even every day, but thought essiac would be a MUCH better alternative :)

I think it is more for people suffering with illnesses etc but think it would be a GREAT alternative to normal tea/coffee

Just wondering if many drank it and what they thought of it?

I've been drinking Essiac tea almost every day for about eight years now. It is a foundational tea that helps the body in a number of ways. It cured my asthma and it does prevent cancer. I mean who wants to get cancer in the first place?

It also normalizes bowel movements, supports the liver, detoxifies, helps diabetics, etc.

Since I drink Essiac tea almost every day, I've done a lot of research on it. There's a lot of disinformation out there about Essiac.

Essiac tea originiated with a native American herbalist who lived in Northern Ontario in the late 19th century. He cured a woman of breast cancer and this woman later gave the formula to the head nurse of a hospital in Ontario in the early 1920's. The nurse, Rene Caisse, tested the formula for more than fifty years and reduced it to four herbs.

The best source of information comes from Sheila Snow and Mary McPherson. Both Sheila and Mary knew Rene Caisse personally and an English woman by the name of Mali Klein took their information and wrote several books on the subject.

You can buy Essiac tincture from original recipe of Rene Caisse from www.HarmonikIreland.com and you can also see an interview with Rene Caisse on a DVD go to www.luogocomune.net Dr Simoncini.. I watched the programme on one of the channels on my Sky TV. You can buy the DVD and a book and they want people to copy the DVD and pass it around.

So many of these types of people have been arrested or bad mouthed by the powers that be..even myself was once told i was a threat to the Medical Profession with my knowledge.

Actually, the "Essiac tincture" offered by HarmonikIreland is not Rene Caisse's Essiac tea. Essiac tea is a decoction not a tincture. Rene Caisse did not use tinctures. Also, the formula offered by this website contains herbs that Rene Caisse never used--blessed thistle and kelp. This was Dr. Brusch's own formula, not Rene Caisse's.

Also, in order to qualify as Rene Caisse's Essiac tea it must contain sheep sorrel roots. She considered sheep sorrel roots to be essential to the formula.

I found a website that has the most documentation on Essiac tea on the internet. They don't sell any products, either--www.HealthFreedom.info (http://www.healthfreedom.info). The Essiac FAQ on that website is quite extensive and the information comes from the two people who were closest to Rene Caisse--Mary McPherson and Sheila Snow. Here is an article from that site called The Truth About Essiac (http://www.healthfreedom.info/Cancer%20Essiac.htm).
