The PetroDollar. For every barrel of crude oil that is paid for in US Dollars the US of A gets a percentage.( from memory about 9%) this revenue is what helps to keep America financially viable, so to speak.
America is the only country in the world that prints dollars to pay for its imports.
Every other country has to pay with money earned from that countries exports.
