The Manananggal, a ghoulish creature of Phillipino folklore:
http://aycu10.webshots.com/image/23209/2002277085548280888_rs.jpg

A manananggal is described as being an older, beautiful woman (as opposed to
an aswang), capable of severing its upper torso in order to fly into the night
with huge bat-like wings to prey on unsuspecting, pregnant women in their
homes; using an elongated proboscis-like tongue, it sucks the hearts of fetuses
or blood of an unsuspecting, sleeping victim. The severed lower torso is left
standing and it is said to be the more vulnerable of the two halves. Sprinkling
salt or smearing crushed garlic or ash on top of the standing torso is fatal to the
creature. The upper torso then would not be able to rejoin and will die at
daybreak. The name of the creature originates from an expression used for a
severed torso: Manananggal comes from the Tagalog, tanggal (cognate of Malay
and Indonesian tanggal) which means to remove or to separate. Manananggal
then means the one who separates itself from its lower body.

And then there's the aswang:

Aswangs have an ageless appearance and a quiet, shy and elusive manner.
They can be distinguished from humans by two signs. One is the bloodshot
eyes from staying up all night looking for opportunities to sneak into houses
where funeral wakes are being held, and stealing the dead bodies.

According to the elderly, the Aswang can also transform from human to animal
and animal to human. The Aswang can disguise him/herself as a pig, dog or a
black bird. Supposedly if a person looks at them in the eyes, the reflection
would appear inverted. During their nocturnal activities, they walk with their
feet facing backwards and toenails reversed.

One type is the tik-tik which transforms into a huge bird/bat at night and
prowls. The tik-tik looks for a pregnant person. Then extends a very long
proboscis into the womb and licks the baby to kill it. While performing, a
'tik-tik' sound is heard.

Planet Earth is a strange place, no?

Reminds me of the Mothman Propehcies. What do you make of that?

There are lots of weird creatures in the folklore of different countries but
they often share similar traits: they seek blood, children, young &
pregnant women and some animals. They're also often thought of as
originating from caves or from under bodies of water, i.e., they're
subterranean.

Their descriptions vary some from region to region but they're pretty much all
doing the same thing: preying on us. Recurring aspects of these creatures
often include shape-shifting, invisibility, flying ability, blood sucking tongues,
"changeling" tricks and the ability to create illusions.

Chupacabras, the Jersey Devil, werewolves, vampires, mothmen, goblins, ghouls,
etc., etc. -- I think they're all part of the subterranean world. And so are
bigfoot, lake monsters, sea serpents, fairies, sirens, dragons and most all of
what are called cryptids or mystery animals.

BTW, I'm not saying the earth is hollow. I don't know if it is or not, but I do
think there are hollow places in the earth. Big ones. And, many of
them must be inhabited. And, I don't just mean the artificially created
underground bases, although that's a part of it, I'm sure.

I also think this whole subterranean bit is a big part of the "forbidden knowledge"
that we are not supposed to know about. So, the obedient "scientists" are
continually "debunking" and denying the reports of sightings of these
creatures even when specimens are placed in front of them, which happens
repeatedly. They make up silly stories to explain them away: "That's a
mutated poodle with warts and dentures. Now, go away!"

I also think it's why we don't hear about the millions of people who come up
missing every year -- mostly kids and young women. The latest statistic I
could find for the USA alone for missing persons was from several years ago
and it was nearly a million/year and rising. The "missing persons" organizations
are a joke and don't begin to tell the tale.

The documented child-abuse/sex slave/pedophilia activities of our "leaders"
ties into all of this because they're a part of the underworld too, of course.

So, anyway -- that's why I say it's a strange planet we live on.:)

If you're interested in this subject, here is a book that I recommend:
Caverns, Cauldrons, and Concealed Creatures by Wm. Michael Mott (http://www.hiddenmysteries.com/caverns/caverns.html) (with an intro by David Icke)

John Keel (author of Mothman Prophecies) has also written books about strange creatures
such as: Our Haunted Planet and The Complete Guide to Mysterious Beings and others.

Hey Graf,

You know what this reminds me a lot of? A comic book I once bought at a yard sale, called MAN-BAT (I bought a whole pile of them for a buck). The comic was about a doctor who experimented on himself using something that was supposed to give him sonar. Well the experiment went awry and he shifted between human and bat. One personality did not remember what the other did (kinda like mind-control victims). Anyway, he lived deep inside the cavernous Earth.

I wouldn't be surprised if they found ways to cross-breed species. Is it outside the realms of possibility? Not at all!

Hey graflok, you seem to know alot about cryptozoology. Do you have any websites you know off that contain pictures of specimens or info about them. Im really interested and thought I would ask someone who seems to have already spent alot of time researching this rather than trying to sift through google.

I'm sure there are a lot of genetic shenanigans going on down there and
I believe a lot of the sci-fi and horror comics and stories and movies are
based on fact.

For example, Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, is said to have been
iluminati herself and was writing about real technology that existed at that time.
In other words, they could re-animate corpses back in the 1830s.

I don't have a particular recommendation for cryptid web sites. They all
pretty much have the same information (not that there's anything wrong
with that) but the info is not usually very extensive.

If there are particular creatures you're interested in, search for info on those
first. Most people have personal favorites like bigfoot or lake monsters
or whatever.

There are lots of books too, which I usually prefer over the web. The
titles I mentioned above are good and others by those same authors but
there are lots more. You can often buy them for very little on eBay or
in used book stores.

I was reading about a school called the Dragon School in Oxford.

http://www.globalfailure.com/images/dragonschool.jpg (http://www.dragonschool.org/)

The creature in the logo is called a Wyvern, but is often simply called a Dragon. Wyverns have two legs, two wings and a tail (although the image in your first post doesn't show a tail, it sure shows two legs and two wings). They symbolize envy, war, pestilence, and viciousness. - Source. (http://dragons.monstrous.com/wyvern.htm) Not a very comforting thing to have on a school emblem, I think

The Wyvern sits upon the crest of King's College, University of Queensland. The all male college embraces it and each student is taught to embody the spirit of the Wyvern. This is often exampled with a cry of "All Hail the Great Wyvern". The word "Wyvern" is also used as a euphemism in many social situations.

Yuck!

Some cryptozoologists have theorized that wyverns are evidence of surviving pterosaurs, a large flying reptile thought to have gone extinct around 65 million years ago. There are alleged sightings of pterosaurs in remote areas such as the Kongamato in Africa.

Aswang! Those bitches, by looking at the pictures. I think most of them are female. There is also about the Aswang in the Adventures of Jonny Quest the 1996-1997 TV show that aired in Cartoon Network. Only in one episode, quite freaky. Monsters living under our backs, while we live above.

Notice the sun symbol in the "O" of the word Dragon?

Their logo is "Ardus Ad Solem" (Strive for the sun).

Crocodiles, cobras and black widow spiders occasionally kill somebody and nobody goes on a witch-hunt for them.

What IS wrong with humanity?
