You can try a Solar Oven, it's not difficult to make your own.

There's lots of build-methods online, here's one:

Not perfect by any means, but certainly something very useful in the right conditions.

It depends on what you want to cook. If you're talking about soup or stew in a small sauce pan, take a large #10 can or metal coffee can that's empty and drill holes around the top and bottom for air. You can set this over a fire of a few twigs and small branches and cook up a meal rather quickly without using a whole lot of wood or making a lot of smoke that might lead folks to your camp. Try this one out in your back yard first to get familiar with it.

How about the bushbuddy. It's a bit on the expensive side, but very effectiive, as you can use twigs, pine cones, etc. It works by combusting the wood gas, giving a clean efficient burn. I've got one and love it.

I was wondering what you were wishing to do with it and where.

I was gonna suggest a kelly kettle, but that thing above is cool enough!

Yeah , I suppose it does depend on what type of camper/survival type you are really .

try them all .

use them all ,

sooner or later ---- you will find that you become good at them all .

sometimes it depends on if you wish to travel light because of long distances / travel with luxury ,

make good of all of them , get to know them , and this will then make sure you are never cought out .
