The book illustrates seven different types of recurring gravitational cycles ranging from the very warm 460,000 year cycle down to a 230 year recurring global warming cycle. All of these gravitational cycles coincide nearly 100 percent with 2200 global warming events during the past half million years. This includes the earth's current warming cycle which began around the year 1900, and the first stage of global cooling beginning in 2008-09.

The gravitational cycles are called the Primary Forcing Mechanism for Climate (PFM), and act like a magnet by pulling the atmosphere's high pressure systems northward or southward by as much as 4 degrees of latitude from their normal seasonal positions, and thus causing long-term shifts in the location of atmospheric high pressure systems.

The shifts of nearly 4 degrees of latitude, or approximately 380 kilometers (240 miles) results in an overall change in the atmospheric circulation in such a manner to cause the climate to migrate northward during global warming cycles and allow some melting of high latitude snow and ice packs, and a rises in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels through a very complex natural feedback system.

This natural feedback allows carbon dioxide which was being stored and trapped in high latitude vegetation, soils, tundra and colder oceans for up to several hundred thousand years, to be released naturally back into the atmosphere during global warming events.

The natural climate shifts and associated natural rises in carbon dioxide occur approximately every 230 years as a recurring gravitational cycle reaches its peak. Stronger global warmings occur with more powerful cycles every 920 years and 5000 years, with the greatest increase in global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels occurring during what are called mega cycles every 116,000 and 460,000 years.

Every 116,000 years, all but one of the seven different types of PFM gravitational cycles peak at the same time, with these simultaneous peaks causing a major shift in the earth's climate.

These 116,000 year mega global warming cycles have occurred four times during the past 360,000 years, all of which experienced a major rise in temperatures. The temperature rises were then followed by a natural rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels of about 50 percent during the 10,000 year period leading up to the peak of each cycle. This same scenario is occurring during the current 116,000 year global warming cycle, which is now peaking and also experiencing a carbon dioxide increase near 50 percent.

Then every 460,000 years, all seven types of gravitational cycles peak at the same time. This has happened only twice during the past half million years. The first occurrence was 460,000 years ago, with this event causing major long term global warming with portions of the Antarctic becoming nearly void of ice. The next cycle is now occurring 460,000 years later and is again associated with major melting of the ice packs in the Polar Regions during the past 80 years. But there is good news. The gravitational cycle is now causing the earth to enter a natural global cooling phase which will last about 180 years. The ice packs and snow packs are already beginning to increase over northern latitudes, and this will continue until the next global warming cycle in about 180 years.

What is PFM?
The Primary Forcing Mechanism (PFM) is the Trigger Mechanism that Controls Recurring Cycles of the El Niño, Regional Hurricane Landfalls and other Weather/Climate Cycles.

El Niño events, global warming and other climate oscillations have been extensively studied for decades, but oceanographers and meteorologists have had great difficulty isolating the primary physical mechanism(s) that controls these oscillations.

By combining the four disciplines of Oceanography, Meteorology, Climatology and Astronomy, the objective of Global Weather Oscillations (GWO) 18-years of ongoing research was to isolate the Primary Forcing Trigger Mechanism(s) (PFM) that causes short-term climate cycles.

Once the PFM was isolated, it was then correlated with historical climate data to obtain accurate forecast models. One such research project correlates the PFM with sea surface temperatures in the tropical South Pacific Ocean where the El Niño Southern Oscillations (ENSO) forms. By doing so, GWO found a 100 percent correlation between the 24 PFM cycles to the occurrences of all 24 El Niños dating back to 1914.

GWO also documented a near 100 percent correlation between PFM cycles to regional droughts, regional floods, regional hurricane landfalls and regional seasonal precipitation.

GWO has found that the "Primary Forcing trigger Mechanism (Dilley-PFM)" is the primary mechanism that controls many weather/climate cycles, and that by using the PFM as a forecast model, these weather cycles can be forecast years in advance.

GWO will be releasing to the public ground breaking global warming research around the end of February 2008.

‘Nine Facts About Climate Change’ the Media Don’t Want You to Know

As NewsBusters previously reported, there is a climate change skeptics conference going on in Canberra, Australia. One of the function’s organizers is the influential Lavoisier Group whose co-founder Ray Evans has written a fascinating publication on this subject that the media and global warming alarmists would hate for Americans to read.

Simply called “Nine Facts About Climate Change,” this piece carefully outlined the major issues concerning the anthropogenic global warming debate while countering claims by the alarmists including former Vice President Al Gore.

Evans wonderfully categorized the problem at hand in his introduction (emphasis mine throughout):

In January 2006 I wrote a pamphlet entitled Nine Lies about Global Warming in which I sought to summarise for the lay reader the state of the debate about increasing atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, and the widespread predictions of catastrophic global warming which would ensue as a consequence of man’s use of fossil fuels. Despite the inherent scientific implausibility of these predictions, and the complete lack of empirical evidence to support them, a number of current political leaders and former leaders, notably UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US Vice President Al Gore and Australian Labor Leader Kim Beazley, have embraced these predictions. The Environmentalist movement throughout the West has united behind global warming as its primary campaign ambition, and the political power of the Environmentalist movement has generated very large expenditures as a consequence.

Evans’ introduction continued:

The science debate is at the heart of the global warming campaign. On one side of that debate we have those prominent scientists who preach the gospel of anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide-generated global warming. Without exception, their careers have been made in the shadowy world where science and politics intersect; a world described by the once celebrated but now forgotten novelist of the 1950s, CP Snow. Lord May and Sir David King in the UK, and James Hansen in the US, are outstanding examples of the genre. On the other side of the debate is a long and growing list of scientists whose careers have been built on successful research into the extraordinarily complex physics and chemistry of the earth’s atmosphere and oceans, and the influence which the Sun has on the earth’s climate. The most recent example of devastating critique of the anthropogenist carbon dioxide school comes from William Gray, the doyen of American hurricane scientists.

After his introduction, Evans elaborated on the following nine facts:

* (1) Climate change is a constant. The Vostok Ice Cores show five brief interglacial periods from 415,000 years ago to the present. The Greenland Ice Cores reveal a Minoan Warm Period 1450–1300 BC, a Roman Warm Period 250–0 BC, the Mediaeval Warm Period 800–1100AD, the Little Ice Age and the late 20th Century Warm Period 1900–2010 AD.
* (2) Carbon dioxide is necessary for all life on earth and increasing atmospheric concentrations are beneficial to plant growth, particularly in arid conditions. Because the radiation properties of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are already saturated, increasing atmospheric concentrations beyond current levels will have no discernible effect on global temperatures.
* (3) The twentieth century was almost as warm as the centuries of the Mediaeval Warm Period, an era of great achievement in European civilisation. The recent warm period, 1976–2000, appears to have come to an end and astro-physicistswho study sunspot behaviour predict that the next 25–50 years could be a coolperiod similar to the Dalton Minimum of the 1790s-1820s.
* (4) The evidence linking anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide emissions and current warming is limited to a correlation which holds only for the period 1976 to 2000. Attempts to construct an holistic theory in which atmospheric carbon dioxide controls the radiation balance of the earth, and thus determines average global temperatures, have failed.
* (5) The anthropogenists claim that the overwhelming majority of scientists are agreed on the anthropogenic carbon dioxide theory of climate control; that the science is settled and the debate is over; and that scientific sceptics are in the pay of the fossil fuel industries and their arguments are thus fatally compromised.
* (6) These claims are an expression of hope, not of reality. Anthropogenists such as former US Vice President Al Gore blame anthropogenic emissions of CO2 for high temperatures, droughts, melting polar ice caps, rising sea levels and retreating glaciers, and a decline in the polar bear population.
* (7) They also blame anthropogenic CO2 for blizzards, unseasonable snow, freezing weather generally and for hurricanes, cyclones and other extreme weather events. There is no evidence at all to justify these assertions. Increasing atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide will have negligible impact on the earth’s radiation balance and will promote plant growth everywhere. There is no need to sequester CO2 in the ground or to subsidise nuclear or other non-carbon based methods of energy production.
* (8) ‘Tropical’ diseases such as malaria and dengue fever are not related to temperature but to poverty, lack of sanitation and the absence of mosquito control practices.
* (9) The decarbonisation of the world’s economy would, if attempted, cause huge economic dislocation. Any democratic government which seriously sought to fulfil decarbonisation commitments would lose office. Shutting down coal-fired power stations and replacing them with renewable energy sources such as windmills or solar panels will cause unemployment and economic deprivation.

As a comical aside, an article about this conference in the Australian publication The Age deliciously reported (emphasis mine throughout, please forgive the vulgarity):

In an interview with The Age last month, Mr Evans acknowledged that last September's visit by former US vice-president Al Gore to promote his Oscar-winning global-warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth had helped generate a lot of publicity on climate change.

But he described Mr Gore's film as "bullshit from beginning to end".

"The science from the anthropology point of view has collapsed. The carbon-dioxide link is increasingly recognised as irrelevant," Mr Evans said.

I love it. Evans then touched on a side of this debate that speaks for America just as it does Australia:

"But the Government's frightened.

"Cabinet, from what I understand, is by and large still sceptical of climate change, but it is scared of the drought and worried about how Labor will make use of it."

Disturbingly similar to the political situation in the U.S. where the left is clearly using this issue to frighten the masses, wouldn’t you agree?

The nine fallacies of a debunker.

* (1) Climate change is a constant. The Vostok Ice Cores show five brief interglacial periods from 415,000 years ago to the present. No. Climate change WAS a constant, and then we began pumping massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. While we can see climate change in ice cores and such, in none of them do we see temps rise as fast as they have risen since 1950.

* (2) Carbon dioxide is necessary for all life on earth and increasing atmospheric concentrations are beneficial to plant growth, particularly in arid conditions. Because the radiation properties of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are already saturated, increasing atmospheric concentrations beyond current levels will have no discernible effect on global temperatures.

Flawed logic. Just because CO2 is necessary for life on Earth does not mean the Earth naturally evolved to an equilibrium point which we can ignore. In other words, the Earth evolved to a state where .05% of the atmosphere was CO2. It evolved to that state becuase that was precisely what was healthiest in sustaining all life forms. His arguement also ignores the oceans which are becoming saturated with carbonic acid from too much CO2. It is destroying reefs all over the globe.

* (3) The twentieth century was almost as warm as the centuries of the Mediaeval Warm Period, an era of great achievement in European civilisation. Not only false, but is speculative. We have no way of knowing if the latest warming period is over, and therefore we cannot say that the latest warming period was not as warm as the Mediaeval Warm Period. He also conveniently leaves out (they always do) the RATE of temp change, which I have already covered.

* (4) The evidence linking anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide emissions and current warming is limited to a correlation which holds only for the period 1976 to 2000. Attempts to construct an holistic theory in which atmospheric carbon dioxide controls the radiation balance of the earth, and thus determines average global temperatures, have failed.

The reason correlations are made from 1976 - 2000 is because this is THE period in the greatest RATE of temp increase AND THE period of greatest increase in the burning of fossil fuels. That is precisely the point!!!

* (5) The anthropogenists claim that the overwhelming majority of scientists are agreed on the anthropogenic carbon dioxide theory of climate control; that the science is settled and the debate is over; and that scientific sceptics are in the pay of the fossil fuel industries and their arguments are thus fatally compromised.

Who are these "anthropogenists" who claim it's all settled and man is THE cause of global warming? This is a red herring intent on deceiving. The IPCC report itself said that there was a HIGH PROBABILITY that mankind was at least PARTIALLY contributing to global warming. Nowhere in that report did it ever say that mankind was THE cause of global warming. This is the garbage that these debunking con artists keep throwing out and it simply is not true. There is also no doubt that many debunkers do in fact work for, or are funded in some way by oil and coal interests (eg, all those debunking scientists in Canada, who it turns out all work in the Canadian oil sands projects).

* (6) These claims are an expression of hope, not of reality. Anthropogenists such as former US Vice President Al Gore blame anthropogenic emissions of CO2 for high temperatures, droughts, melting polar ice caps, rising sea levels and retreating glaciers, and a decline in the polar bear population.

Last time I checked, Mr. Gore was not a scientist and was not on the IPCC panel. He is no more qualified to weigh in on these matters than most of the debunkers are.

* (7) They also blame anthropogenic CO2 for blizzards, unseasonable snow, freezing weather generally and for hurricanes, cyclones and other extreme weather events. There is no evidence at all to justify these assertions. Increasing atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide will have negligible impact on the earth’s radiation balance and will promote plant growth everywhere. There is no need to sequester CO2 in the ground or to subsidise nuclear or other non-carbon based methods of energy production.

Again, this is totally false. No one on the IPCC has ever said that CO2 caused hurricanes, etc. What they have said is that as the temp of the planet goes up, the number and severity of weather events may increase, because weather events are how the planet modulates energy in the atmosphere.

* (8) ‘Tropical’ diseases such as malaria and dengue fever are not related to temperature but to poverty, lack of sanitation and the absence of mosquito control practices.

That is true, but it is not the whole truth. Drought, famine, and lack of water caused by dying glaciers will only increase poverty, then lack of sanitation. As for mosquito control, how bout the debunkers come out and let us spray them down with the chemicals and see how they like it. If they're not dead in a week or dying of cancer they can come back and report.

* (9) The decarbonisation of the world’s economy would, if attempted, cause huge economic dislocation. Any democratic government which seriously sought to fulfil decarbonisation commitments would lose office. Shutting down coal-fired power stations and replacing them with renewable energy sources such as windmills or solar panels will cause unemployment and economic deprivation.

This is the same tired arguement we always hear when there's a change and it never turns out to be true. It's the same thing we heard when the Northwest forests of the United States were protected when we were told the sky would fall and the entire economies of Washington and Oregon would forever collapse and put millions of people out of work. It is baseless fear tactics. What actually happened was new technologies moved in and Seattle became America's #1 city to live in for several years running. These arguements are made by people who need the security blanket of the staus quo and who believe every change is being made by someone who is out to get them.

what i find strange is

this is a cycle where there is an ice-age 4 about 90,000 yrs followed by a 10-12,000 yr inter-glacial (warming)

I think climate change is caused by carbon dioxide. CO2 is just like water in the sense that too much could be deadly, ie. drowning in a lake.
And when ice melts, the sun rays from the Sun will be much stronger because there is no shield beetween.

I'm glad you said that because I've been doing a search on David Dilley and Global Weather Oscillations Inc - and there seems to be nothing about this guy apart from what he's written on his own website. Hardly a good sign.
