Most of us have seen the term 'designer baby' used by the media. The term conjures up images of couples sitting down with a catalogue and carefully selecting each feature, characteristic and trait one by one.
The whole idea is both exciting and frightening and most certainly rife with ethical issues.

I second everything said above me. But mostly I support it. Primarily for the medical advantages. If we can effectively wipe out horrible genetic diseases (I.e. Cystic Fibrosis, etc.), it would be stupid not to.
Now, if you want to make sure your kid has blue/green/brown eyes and red/blonde/brown/black hair, that is entirely up to you.

I kind of agree with you. I think if used in a good way, like you said, for medical advantages then it is fantastic they could do such a thing.
It just reminds me of that movie, Gattaca (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/), where a genetically inferior guy tries to live in a world that favors genetically superior people.
