Last night

Hey guys,

This happened last night. Everyone in the house got high and we decided to turn out the lights and play hide and seek. It was about 9pm so it was dark too.
Anyway, there are 4 of us, and 3 go off to hide, me being one of them. I decide to hide in the attic. Now it's pitch black, you can't see your hand in front of you or anything. Its such a strange feeling to have no vision all your other senses heighten incredibly. Being high on top was a bonus. So I fumble up the attic stairs and slide in behind the Air conditioning unit, beside some chairs. I am working off my memory of where things are and touch.
I get as comfortable as I can and wait to be found. Thinking about stuff.. just with my eyes open it feels like they are shut it's so black. So peaceful.
Then I hear something, I think it's somebody coming to find me. The finder has a flashlight but I dont see a beam, and I didnt hear the door open. I sit still grinning to myself, hearing this weird labored breathing, and pushing things around. I think they're fucking with me, you know, trying to scare me. I don't get scared by anything to be honest. Well, I wait and I listen this breathing continues for I dont know how long, then I heard someone yell "ok come out I can't find you guys" and we all shout where we were at and come out.
So I say man I thought you would have found me it sounded like you were really close to me, and she says I never went in the attic I hate to go up the stairs. Nobody went up into the attic. So, maybe it was an encounter with something paranormal is the only explanation I can think of. Nobody but me was up in the attic. All the cats were downstairs and I know I heard something strange up there.
Now they want me to spend the night up there sometime with a video or something. If I do maybe I can document it here too.
Just sharing my odd experience.

Maybe it was a rat, they sometimes use Attic runs to get from place to place or it could be a pigeon, we use to have them roost in the attic. Explore it in daylight and see if you turn up any droppings.

By the description of the laboured breathing it doesn't seem like a rat.

Funny how darkness seems to increase at least the perception of the paranormal. Though many of my experiences have been during the day.

Is there any chance you could have dropped off, even for a moment?

There is always the chance I could have dropped off but I dont think so because my mind was thinking about things. In fact I felt super awake, because it was so black.
There are mice up the attic, because we have to set traps up there sometimes. No rats and no pigeons though. So its always possible it could have been that. Although it sounded like a person moving and breathing - I thought it was someone trying to find me in the dark which is why I kept quiet. Like crawling in the dark and moving things and the breathing was staggered like they had been out of breath or having trouble to breathe. I don't want to make it sound like the grudge or something but thats what everyone has been saying when I told them.

I like to keep an open mind, but I dont like to jump to conclusions. Right now all I have is a story and personal experience I cannot explain, which is worth nothing to anyone other than myself.
Theres really nothing to see up there other than junk, but when I do go I'll take video or at least sound recordings so I can prove it happened, if it ever happens again. I don't know when that will be.

couldn't it be just a figure of your imagination?
I often have the same noises on my room when its dark.
Your mind tends to make things up,so you think you hear something but it really isn't there.
Or maybe there's a real ghost in my room :confused:

I'm not saying there wasn't something there,and i'm not trying to discourage you,but maybe it was a combination of you being high,the dark and you being tense because you are about to be discovered that made your mind "think"the sounds or a person where there.

Maybe,maybe not. If they are sick they can wheeze and breathe quite loudly. Used to keep pet rats ...at night they sound like a herd of stampeding elephants.

You could try seeing if you can get some EVP or any other sounds by setting up some audio recording equipment and leaving it running overnight.
