Well, I quit taking the melatonin the last few days and last night I had some extremely cool dreams. I know the overall story of the dream was together, but I can only remember a few random fragments. Never had I dreamt about so many different gods or superheroes before. In my dream last night, at the end, I was a combination of super-heroes I made up when I was very young. I had three main superheroes, Max, Cro-Magnon (originally Crow), and Shrek. This was long before the Shrek movies came out, I got the name Shrek from Batman Returns, it was the last name of Christopher Walken's character. My hero Shrek actually had a lightning bolt/sig rune for a mask. Anyway, I think the reason these themes collided is because superheroes ARE nothing more than archetypal gods to our modern culture. I read a funny quote the other day from someone on this forum... if in 3000 years, scientists find a tombstone labelled "Peter Parker" in New York City, will some of them actually claim Spider-Man DID exist?

Just funny to think about it. They really might think that! It makes me wonder how ridiculously wrong we have gotten the past few thousand years.

Anyway, let me describe what I remember of the dream.

At one point, I was in the house I grew up in, and I was there with a couple of other people. It was slightly modified from my actual memory, as the front door was in the back of the house. I was babysitting like 30 something children with some others. Someone came to the door, and from earlier in the dream I knew it was a man with a gun. Wish I could say I remember how I knew, but I don't remember. He started firing and pounding on the door, and I called 911 panicking. Eventually he burst in through the door. No kids were killed or anything like that, although I remember in the dream that was his whole purpose. I ran outside and jumped over a large thing of clothes in my way, and I landed right on his gun arm and run on his gun with one foot, and right on his head with the other, knocking him out entirely.

Later in the dream, near the end, we get to the really fun part! At this point, I was already Cro-Chris-Shrek or whoever I was. I was wearing a gray-ish leather outfit, I definitely looked like a superhero or something, and I had a yellow sig-rune on my chest. For those who don't know what the sig rune is, it's my avatar - the thing that looks like a lightning bolt. I think my eyes just looked white without pupils, part of the costume or something, and my hair was blonde (which, my hair is not blonde in real life). I was in my old grandmother's apartment for whatever reason, I remember thinking that something had happened here. I came in with another person, I don't remember who but I want to say Matt, my brother? I can't be sure, I feel like he was my "partner" in this last section of the dream for some reason, like my crime-fighting partner. Anyway, I made it to the back of the apartment, and for some reason I thought the goddess Venus had caused whatever happened to happen, and she was in the back of the apartment. I tried to break in through the door, but I kept feeling resistance. It would partially open when I slammed into it, then slam shut again, like I was fighting someone on the other side of the door. Eventually I burst into the room and a half-naked brown-skinned monk was writing on the wall in a foreign, mystical language. He looked at me but basically paid me no attention. There were tons of bins out in front of him, all containing various colored powders. I remember thinking one was powdered sulfur but I don't really know what he was doing. He left through a door on the opposite side of the room, which BTW never existed in the real world version of this apartment. I followed him out and we were in some kind of large mansion-mall. I can't describe it. I saw the person who I think was Matt standing in front of some large doors, guarding them. I gave him some kind of signal and started running down carpeted steps after the monk. I was screaming "Wanderer! Wanderer!"

I should mention, earlier in the dream I came into contact with some being. This being was a reptilian, it had thick grey skin and extremely large orange reptilian eyes. It reminded me of Venom from Spider-Man 3, but obviously a lot more colorful with the orange burning eyes. He was also wearing a tuxedo. My powers as Cro-Shrek-Chris were basically agility powers, I wasn't afraid of anything at all, I could bounce off of shit like Spider-Man and dive through the air. I basically wasn't afraid of pain and wasn't limited by regular physics - like Spider-Man sort of! Anyway, this being had told me that I had powers and showed me how to use them. I wish I could remember everything about it. Anyway, in the dream, I ran down a hall after the monk shouting "Wanderer!" and I came across him, with this reptilian and his entourage. The reptilian looked back at me like "Don't bother." There was a familiar rapport between myself and the entity. We did not hate each other and we were not afraid of each other, but I did find the entity extremely annoying because it was always getting in my way for whatever reason. He probably felt the same about me. We both just had different agendas and because of that, we clashed regularly. He was my dream arch-enemy.

The monk was with him, but he looked different now - corrupted. He was wearing leather and sunglasses. Very un-monk-like. I asked him why he was with the reptilian. He said that the reptilian was showing him that he had powers. I said "Did he tell you that the basis for these powers is that you are an immortal spirit?" And he said yes. I told him he didn't need the reptilian to access the powers. I was just kind of following their entourage yelling this to him while they walked on. At some point I started getting through to him, and the reptilian started paying attention to me. I should say, in this mall there were tons of normal people walking around not paying any attention to us at all, like it was the most normal thing in the world to see freaks like that walking around!

I'm almost through here. As the monk started coming around, the reptilian started to get angry at me, basically telling me to mind my own business and to stay away from him, as the monk came to him of his own free will. Eventually the monk decided I was right, and I ran to attack the reptilian, leaping up to his head and dragging him up the wall, when I realized the monk was stuck to me, or had attacked at the same time or something, and it annoyed me because he didn't actually have ANY powers yet. He was probably not really a monk either, although I don't know the significance of seeing him doing the magic writing with the various mysterious powders. His attacking with me actually threw off my own-attack. Anyway, I woke up then, it was a pretty cool dream. I love dreaming about being a super-hero.

Also in the dream, I remember at one point seeing a blue-skinned person who I knew was an Andromedan (from the Andromeda galaxy) and associating him with Christ/Y'shua. I thought of this blue-skinned being as a Hare-Krishna.

And at another point - perhaps this is why I dreamed Venus later - I was on a plane, and Venus was holding a knife to my side. We were in seats, no one knew she had a knife. I remember thinking I should just attack her, because then she would have to reveal herself to everyone else when she was clearly trying to hide.

That's all I can remember, but it was one of the coolest nights of dreams I've had in weeks.

Well DON'T take melatonin! It's supposed to help with dreams, but it's only ever made me forget mine.

I heard it was supposed to help increase the vividness and memory of your dreams, but for me it's done just the complete opposite. I take 5 MG. Although I will never take another one.

Yes, it causes very deep sleeps, which is probably why I couldn't remember my dreams.

Very interesting dream, michael christopher. The monk in your dream stands out to me as the general public. Everyone is potentially good at heart, divine, etc, but also capable of corruption, like when he suddenly changed attire. The way you describe your interactions with the reptilian in your dream sounds almost to me like you were battling an extension of yourself; your darker more primal side.

Sounds like you had fun dreaming, I hope you have more similar to this.

I thought of this dream after you told me that, mrindigo. I think you are partially right, however I think that the monk represents someone who I am trying to "save" with knowledge, but I don't realize at the same time that I am trying to save the monk, or the superstitious person, from the reptilian, I am actually just replacing the reptilian as a "leader" myself. This is why the monk stuck to me and threw off my attack, because the only reason he was following the reptile in the first place was out of ignorance, which can only be corrected through making mistakes. I just replaced his other leader and he had to stick with me, he became my burden because I tried too hard to give him knowledge out of my distaste for his company. Maybe I was dressed as the rune-bearing superhero because that is in someway how I see myself, however now that I am separate from the dream and have come to this realization, I see now that I only thought I was a superhero, but I really didn't do anything all that differently from my opponent.
