'Ministers are considering the compulsory microchipping of all dogs as part of a range of measures to crack down on dangerous breeds, The Scotsman has learned. Plans have been drawn up by the SNP MSP Alex Neil to update and reform the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act, which banned a number of breeds, including pit bull terriers.'

OMG chatt I wanted to mention this and haven't had time to post yet.....but today in the mail I received a letter saying that my dog has to get a micro chipped.

What happened was one Sunday morning my 10 year old (miss dizziness herself), thought she'd take our dog Marley for a walk. He's a beautiful pitbull of 5 years and has never bitten anyone, he has been bought up with 10,000 kids pulling his tail and poking him in the eye, and he thinks he's human and is so emotionally desperate for any form of tidbit be it love food a push out of the way, and his best friend is our cat Jnr Popperdom (they cuddle up together sunbathing around the back of the house. If Jnr is eating Marley will stand to the side looking on, forlornly hoping Jnr might invite him to breakfast, of course Jnr thinks hes the Lion King and looks at him like he is completely beneath him. Ne way sorry for rambling but you gotta know the back story, back to Miss dizzy, she takes him off down the road, past a house 5 doors away and she has no leach, she walks past the house in question which happens to have 2 guinea pigs in a flimsy cage on the front lawn, Marly all of a sudden decides he's not a human and he is a dog and launches, of course fur etc everywhere, miss dizzy crying, her cunning plan totally turning to custard and then the wrath of the mother of the guinea pigs whom were no longer breathing and lying in parts all around. I was distraught, I took flowers we did everything we could, they had a guinea pig funeral etc, we got the kids a copy of the latest Pans Lybryinth dvd, I felt awful.
OK it was a child's accident, agreed. Well in the letter we received, they told us our dog was a menace. Would you agree that if that's the case it would be my child that's the menace as well. They have demanded that we get a chip in him, and maybe they are going to suggest a chip in my daughter. Its bloody scary.

But wait it ain't finished, and the bloody things cost 500bucks. Plus we got fined 2000 dollars. wtf's that about. Revenue sluts.

What I didn't mention was mother of guinea pigs comes to my house at 12 at night, pissed rotten rolling drunk pushes her way in, demands to have a counseling forum, and tells us off, then asks for forgiveness, so I told her that my dog was a pig dog and was doing what came natural.

Anyway she was so drunk she must of lost her wallet before she got to my house, then proceeded to tell me that I'd stolen it (I'm a professional I don't need her anything), she drank my vodka and smoked my fags and then told me that because i was brown she never expected me to be so lovely and remorseful about the incident, that she thought we were going to beat her up. Far F.....g out man. it was one of the most surreal situations.

so up shot. I'm gona take the dog control to court. I believe to call a dog a menace when what he is doing is what comes natural to a dog, eating small furry things, and that it was an accident, and I'll try for slander because he is so not a bad dog he's gentle and lovely. Just cause he's a pitt, I've proved the whole theory behind the whole dangerous breed thing totally wrong, Marley is gentle, clever and loving, my 4 children can vouch for that.

whew what a story, so I aint gonna let them chip my dog.
Those balheads can take a running leap

ps I'll keep you informed

Pss(sorry for b4, I hope you 4give me)

What a story , I actually got a bit carried away here.
We must not forget that animals do what they feel is naturally and we can't overrule that, thats the nature.
I have not much experience with pets/animals, have never had any without a giant african snail (0,8 KG) and that's really a BIG bastard:).
But I really love animals, they're beutiful all of them and we gotta respect their actions (theyr'e not humans).

Don't mind our little episode, everyone can have a bad day.
I'm not the type that gets angry for a long time anyway.:)

...and hey dont get him chipped;)

Some people don't deserve to have dog/s as a pet. Some walk them of the lead/leash only to come running up to my dog and pick a fight. Some dogs need to be belted over the head with a stick.

Having said the above, in Austarlia, there is a 'Pet Expo' that tours the country and they have on their advertising billboard, free information on pet chipping.I will not chip my dog. As far as I'm concerned, it's not being essential.

I know what you mean about some people not deserving pets. My Marley, is so beautiful, he runs up to other dogs with his tail going flatak and is desperate to be friends. He never picks fights, he just wants to play. Whats your dogs name.

I'm gonna try and post a photo of him on this thread, wish me luck.

You know, it seems to me that the only people that have bad dogs are gangster types, who where their dogs like they are an extension of their egos. The pit fight them and treat them bad so they will become aggressive and unfriendly. Why? Fundamental fear. Lack of love. Macho bullshit. Ignorance. Yes and in the same mouthful we must have love for these people, they are in the same waka (boat) as we. Ok they might be at the back making the cups o tea, while others are navigating, none the less they are still apart of us that cannot be ignored.

By the way friendsinsky, I will fight not to get him micro chipped. And sorry bout all the grammar mistakes in last post, I'm in a hurry as usual. Bad eh? Gotta learn to slow down. Gotta learn not to feel guilty when I'm seemingly not doing anything.

Hey chatt,

I've had animals all my life. And it must be hard for you not too. I know living in the city is one of the blockages, so ka aroha (my thoughts and love with you). Within your life time I hope you get to spend a good span of time with the animals, I've learnt so much from them. Even your giant snail sounds beautiful, he has something to teach you, and I can bet its 'patience'. LOL.

I've had the opportunity to own many loyal dogs, I've ridden horses all my life, cats, rats, opossums x2, pigs one of which was a wild pig we called William, whom used to snout the fridge open with his nose and eat everything in it till he heard dads Norton pulling up then he'd sprint to get out the door skidding on the lino with his hooves hence where I get the term 'skidding on the lino'. I've had, budgies, magpies, weka's (native bird), a penguin, chickens, sheep, a goat, a deer, that's all I can remember for now. All of these animals either I was nursing that were returned to the bush, or were my pets, or hung out with me. My most memorable animals was a stallion, called blackie whom I broke in, and would let no one else ride him, an Alsatian called Sultan whom protected me once from getting beaten up, and my cat at the moment called jnr popperdom who saved me from being bitten by a white tail spider by point to them with his nose in the dark, so I could see them too. What a man. In Maoridom he is now what they call my 'kai tiake'. My animal guide, because he helped me.

Hope that's interesting.

Hi ngawaka,
i feel for you and this problem about the microchipping. Its wrong and just another form of control. Makes me really friggin angry when they go on about dogs.I had a pitty and she was the most beautifull loving dog around. Like yours it sounds. But, she was a dog and dogs love to chase cats and rabbits etc. Its just the way it is. You tried to make things better and thats all anyone can do. But no, the f--kn authorities have to tax you for it. Theres no difference between them and gang members. I hope your l'il girl isn't to upset over it.
I'll send some love your way.

Thanks tickles, we are going to fight it. And we may lay an example down for the rest of the NZers who have dogs and don't want to be dumped in the same kete (flax bag), as the gang members who have aggressive non loved pets. I know this, I've seen how these gang people treat they're animals, they use them as power tools. And wear them like trophy's of what they think is strength. And because I'm Maori, the authorities have thrown me into the same bag. Its discrimination to the max. I'm gonna do my best to fight it. I need to find a lawyer who loves animals, any suggestions.?

Not off hand, sorry. When my bro's dog got in trouble he sent it out of town and told the authorities that it had died. After a few months it came home as a new dog;). Worked for him but unsure of your situation.
