I'm still a bit new to this Freeman on the land concept. What I am wondering is this. Were the original citizens of American States (as sovereign states) considered Freemen-on-the-land? Did Lincoln take that away? Was American originally supposed to be a nation for Freemen-on-the land?
Am I misunderstanding the concept?
I've been also reading some articles about the original Civil flag that was under common law jurisdiction, and the military flag under maritime laws. It kind of got me thinking.
Forgive me, if this is a stupid question.
