"The human metabolism developed in the ancient geological eras when carbon dioxide in the air and water was represented in tens of percent. It is probably due to this factor that a definite concentration of CO2 (7% approx.) must be an absolutely essential condition of each human cell in order for it to sustain all the normal pathways of the biochemical processes." This is due to oxygen being absorbed best with the optimum CO2 level, CO2 helps release it from the haemoglobin.
"The problem faced by evolving human organism has been the depletion of CO2 in our atmosphere from the tens of percent of ancient eras to the current level (1982) of 0.03%." (This is at least 300 times lower than today)
"Human evolution has dealt with this dilemma by creating an autonomous internal environment with alveolar spaces of the lungs."
This begs the question to me posting this thread, as we evolved during this period where CO2 was in the tens of percent and we are now at 0.03% and the human body operates best at 7% within our bodies (although most people are a lot lower which can be rectified through the Buteyko method) why are we being advised and forced to reduce the CO2 levels still further. Surely in the past with at least 300 times the CO2 level of today we wouldn't have had any dry land on which to evolve if CO2 is as the scientist's say the predominant factor in warming of the planet and rising sea levels?
