I made this super slowed down version of the video because I thought something was kinda weird. I might just be being paranoid, but other than his face looking like it's totally morphing. Why does he become transparent while ducking? I understand motion blur but it shouldn't account for that many stars being able to be seen through his head does it?

I just think its kind of weird because even in the newspapers here the people moving are crystal clear while bush's face is blurred in every picture except right before and after the incident.

The face is blurred because it is an interior shot, a slower shutter speed which is OK when it comes to interviews but not for speed shots. If you look at where the shoe is headed it whizzes past about a foot to your left where Bush's head was so it wouldn't have hit him even had he not moved a muscle.

PRESIDENT Bush last night claimed his decision to invade Iraq had been vindicated after US troops uncovered an arsenal of shoes on the outskirts of Fallujah.

Prime minister Gordon Brown backed Mr Bush insisting many of Iraq's shoes were slip-ons that could activated in less than 45 minutes.

But France denied supplying Iraq with shoe components insisting its only exports to Saddam's regime had been a 1994 shipment of humanitarian espadrilles.

Meanwhile the Kremlin said most of Iraq's shoes had actually been bought from ex-US defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld when he worked for Hush Puppies in the early 1980s.
