Why must he?... I'm sure its possible to slap a bit of make-up on and play a baddy ( a bit like the guy in the original series). Conscious, arty people and drugs seems to mix well, I don't know the ins and outs but its not too far fetched to think that he caused his own demise without subliminal intervention?

I already mentioned in another Heath thread that Ledger was a method actor and tended to freak people out by getting 'deep into character'.

In my opinion Heath had transpersonality issues and was probably 'opened up' at some point - they scooped him out and left an empty vessel which could be easily filled with whatever is necessary. There are more than a few empty vessels in Hollywood...
