Is anyone here in A.'. A.'. and if so can you explain what work is done as a probationer 0=0?
Thanks.
Do you mean the one Crowley started called Argentum Astrum, or the one for anyone with a drink problem Alcoholics Anonymous?
The Crowley one is no longer in existence, or if it is, they are not looking for probationers. I am sure I have read some of the preparations for the the first degree, don't know if it was on the net or from a book, basically much the same as any other Western Mystery School i.e. read a lot of books about the subject to get a good idea what it is about, do some meditation and mental exercises, and some breathing and keep fit.
Keep a magical diary of all experiments you do.
Then decide if you want to go further.
When the pupil is ready the teacher will speak.
Bon Chance!

Why dont you apply and find out. As long as you pass the entrance exam you will be put in touch with somebody and then you will know for yourself. You will not generally find such answers in this forum

I think you are being a bit misleading here. As long as a person passes the initial exam and are approved they will be put in contact with somebody who will help their progress. This is nothing to do with chance. I passed the exam and was put in contact with somebody but I was not prepared to travel to Denmark to meet them.
I might have spelt it wrong Marpat, what I meant was good luck.
I did see the criteria in an old copy of Book 4 that I have, there is about 10 books recommended for the grade of Student, it then says after three months the student is examined in these books, and if his knowledge of them is found satisfactory, he may become a probationer, receiving Liber LXI, then he will have a master appointed whose experience can guide him in his work.
There's quite a lot more, but that's the basis of entry.
Probably not down to "good luck" so much as intent and LOA.
