I just checked many posts on the Icke Forum and I see that 80% :eek: of the Reply Posts don't use a Title Name!

If you don't enter a Title Name then it will never be picked up by any search engines!

Why would not having an extra bit of bold text on a page prevent a search engine from indexing it?

I'm serious, tell me. This doesn't seem to affect the page meta data at all - the only thing adding the titles seems to do is add bold text to the page, using the HTML strong tag. The description meta data is the page title that appears in the top of your browser, so basically the title of the very first post in the thread, and the keywords are a constant list of keywords that appear on every page in the forum, plus the words in the description meta data, plus any keywords that were added to the thread - but that has nothing to do with adding titles to posts.

I made many web-pages my self & I know that the Title & all Keywords get picked up first!
I will try it with your user name after I search for it in Googles you will see!
Also I don't know why but it appears Forum Data get priority on Google search engine!

Priority (7)= the first 200 characters after body tag

Not all search engine have the same algorithms setup but basically the same Principal; engines some maybe only index the first 100 characters some engines index 450 characters. (Close enough!)

So not Title Name no individual indexing! One thread theoretically with 100 posts could end-up with 100 indexes again depend on your keyword selection in your title!

What is your point, then? That Google gives more weight to bold text? I don't doubt that, but I'm also pretty sure all the weights are normalized, and that this would therefore reduce how important Google considers the actual post.

But I don't actually care how Google does what it does, my grievance is with the statement 'If you don't enter a Title Name then it will never be picked up by any search engines!', which is false, and the whole reason this thread exists.

Google picks up whole DI threads regardless - every post on a thread on here (except for those in the Conspiratainment & Rant Room sub-forums) can be read and show in Google searches; so it's not entirely necessary to headline your posts cos' anyone who peruses the threads can see them anyway. But it does help to create a seperate search alright.
