I will post a few poems (with permission) of a young girl Madi, who lives in the same town as myself. She is fourteen years of age and looking at a career in writing. She is quite adamant about seeking truth and she contacted me to read her work (I am an author and family friend) and I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of work for her age.
Feel free to post comments and I will send them on and perhaps have her comment on the forum.
As I post some more I'm sure some of you will find them refreshing and inspirational.

Find Your Reason

To waste a life on misery
To hide behind your fears
To live under all the sadness
You won't replace lost years
Find the light inside you
Let your deepest point break free
Fake has been done a thousand times
Real is rare to see
To persist to drown in self pity
Is unworthy to exist at all
Make your change a way of being
You should walk instead of crawl
Get out of that state of mind
Easy is never what it seems
Rise against the challenge
Step up and chase your dreams

The Realisation Of Time

Black the colour of darkness,
The colour of my soul
No person can complete me
They can never make me whole
I live with careless freedom
Yet have no reason to run wild
My thoughts keep growing older
As I still remain a child
Everyone is leaving
My life is changing every day
I hide mourning life with laughter
My sky is turning grey
Don't conform to meet my standards
You'll be left standing shallow in the street
With nothing but your memories
And the world beneath your feet
Take every opportunity you are handed
To live is no mistake
Because you only have until today is tommorrow
Don't waste life on being fake

Judgement Leaves You Lonely

Look to those around you
And you will see whats at your nose
Those who smile upon you
May not be the people who you chose
For a love you may not find
The one you look at but do not see
May have you on their mind
So look a little closer
Before the good things pass your by
Don't judge the things that you don't know
Find what real and whats a lie

Global Warning

I live in a world of sadness
A world that shall not complete
A world with starving children
Where good shall not defeat
What will be left for those who follow?
When the rivers all run dry
Global Warning, global poverty
Our nations fighting for a lie
Our lives are filled with luxuries
At what cost are the materialistic possessions that we choose
We have already killed of half the animal population
What else do us beings have to lose?
Think of all your children and those generations left to seek
What do they have to look forward to?
A world exhausted frail and weak
Don't think yourself as powerless
You need to rise against the fear
Or keep living in this chaos
And watch our world just disappear

I have only read the first poem and I just wanted to say that that is so true and I'm copying and pasting it in to my notepad for a quick pick me up when I'm feeling low =)

Tell her that she has inspired me.

Madi has such dept to her for her age. I am inspired, delighted, & hopeful because of these special children. Thank you Madi for your honesty in your poems. Such courage. May you always be blessed in this way.

Here are a couple more...

Choose Happiness And You Have Already Chosen The End

Each day that passes by me
I seem to feel I waste
The beauty I see around me
Only leaves a bitter taste
I want to soak up all the wildfire
All the colour while it lasts
I know that death is dawning
I see the destruction society casts
When the walls come crashing down upon me
I shall not run with those who hide
I'll shall stand my ground and take what's coming
Its up to each being to decide
What's right from wrong inside of them
Who they choose to play
Be happy in the present
There's yet to be another day

Fear

Fear will tarnish judgement
It will leave you in despair
Don't live your life in hiding
Find the ones who truly care
Fear of love will leave you lonely
Fear of life will leave you dead
Fear of fear will leave you paranoid
Don't let the fear get in your head

Live Beyond Judgement

No one sees the silent tears left running down my face
No one sees a conforming girl still standing out of place
When truth can't be spotted because we're all wrapped up in ourselves
No one sees what cannot be seen through cracks upon the shelves
When everything is spinning we're the ones left standing still
We're the ones left in the darkness, easy targets, easy kill
Don't judge upon what you don't know, judge upon the fact
And when you come to form a statement choose your words with tact
Criticism is normal but every child grows with praise
Time may last forever but months are made up with days
So don't drown in a river made up of your sorrow
Just think of your reason to live for tommorrow

Individually The Same

How is it I always seem to ponder
On the one who is myself
Trying to fit into a perfect circle
Of beauty, love and wealth
I'm not the same as all the girls
Who walk our streets today
Trying to conform to all their ethics
Can only leave me in dismay
I can tick all the right boxes
But in my heart I know whats a lie
All those materialistic, trivial things
It's those who can defy
A girl should never be what she owns
Life's about what she's already got
Dare to be an individual
Don't be the girl we know you're not

A lot of potential.

I can see an innate understanding of rhythm and flow emerging, and a crisp precision in her use of language that indicates real talent.

Enjoyed reading them and hope she continues to hone her craft. :)

The works are hers and she works very hard and honestly at expressing those qualities from within. Yes, she has some very awakened qualities for her age that is what bought her to my attention.
I thought her work refreshing and thought it would be good to post them on this forum to inspire others.

I noticed a hint of skepticism, perhaps, from one, that is a shame. She is doing no differently then some of us at her age. She is just sincere and honest within herself. This makes her a good conduit for her soul, that is all.

Size of light- yeah- exactly what I was thinking her sense of rhythm is coming along nicely. I posted all comments on to her.

She speaks

She speaks each word that’s on her mind
She speaks of things uncouth
She speaks so nothings left behind
She speaks in hope of truth
The words in that she’s saying may not seem to be all clear
The words on which that she projects
Do they listen? Do they hear?
The words they keep on flowing like the rivers vast and wide
She speaks her mind she talks to all
For she has nothing left to hide

Alone and Broken

The bitter taste of loneliness
I walk this life alone
My heart so broken yet still beating
It's classed a danger zone
Bow your heads in pity
Turn from me in shame
Say you're not like one another
But I know you are all the same
I push away from the bubble
I try to stand outside the fire
Because everyone I get close to
Lives on to be a liar

She's got talent alright. I loved the first one and "She Speaks". I'll read the others when I have more time. Wow, only 14 years old. Smart, sharp, and brilliant for her age Madi is. :D

Post love

Heartbreak comes to me like the winter

It’s a matter of waiting, a matter of time

It’s something I do not anticipate or yearn for

It’s a certainty in life that I’m deemed to receive

It comes to me in silence; it cuts me with its words

It is the cloud that shadows my sunshine and the rain in which I run from

Love is the predecessor of heartbreak does that mean one should relinquish love?

Feardom of Speech

To understand the suffering, children live to face each day
To hear their screams, their pleading
Yet we turn our heads away
Fear the common factor, we contain it in our eyes
Not fear of love nor fear of life
But fear greater for their lies
To stand against dishonesty turns but the shun on thee
For the speech we are entertained to think
Is anything but free
