Ive just got into David Icke! What is it the Gareth Icke does? Talk to me people! No abuse please!

Man.. there's tonnes of talent on this forum, why can't we expose some of them?

"Disgustingly Handsome" ??
Who gives a shit?
For Icke to be a man that preaches the act of "being" instead of "doing" and claims to be deprogrammed, it is quite funny to see his son's myspace page, an homage to establishment achievement-- including superficiality.
If we were to banish the sycophantic, ass kissing programming of the population by the elite, would a world created by Mr. Icke look much different anyway? I often think not.

chill man! Myspace can be a positive thing too, it's been used to wake up quite alot of people and it's a great tool to spread information, so it's a double-edged sword it just depends on how you look at it.
Garreth has Bill Hicks in his top friends lol awesome.

Hey- I wasn't so much expressing my disagreement for Myspace as I was about Gareth's page. He lists his past achievements as model, actor, etc....and I just find the page in general to be egocentric and yeah, superficial. It is abit critical, and I am not trying to be grumpy and shrewd, I am just identifying what I consider to be a major psyche problem instilled in the general consciousness that has shown up all over Gareth Icke's website. Things like "i must be famous, i must win, i must be a model, be cool.." Imagine if all that energy was channeled into altruism instead of egoism? Just sayin...
Personally, I don't think it is very clever that Daddy Icke backs all of this up.
...Oh, that steadfast reactionary mind.

Well bearing in mind the amount of public (and private) ridicule David got for dedicating his life to exposing the elite agenda all through his family's growing-up years, I can't imagine life for the Icke children was all that wonderful at times. I'd be betting David's children got a fair amount of 'stick' from other kids (and possibly unkind adults too) simply for having David Icke as their father. This can be very hard on children.
I guess Gareth is striving to be a person in his own right now, and is pursuing a future in music and entertainment - a career very different from that of his father, a conspiracy researcher of some notoriety. I know if I were in David's shoes I'd sure want to give moral support to my children's chosen paths in life, whatever they may be, and if I had a popular website such as this one, I would most certainly use it to support my children in exactly the same way David does to support his son.
We may be responsible for bringing our children into the world, and we raise them according to our own values and ideals, but what they choose to do as adults is totally their call in life, and even when we might prefer they were doing something 'other', as parents, mostly we just want our children to be happy and doing what THEY want to do.... so we support them and allow them their freedom to be whoever they want to be.
David loves his son. ;)

Ok, fair comment. Loving and supporting one's own child is only natural.
But you're a poster who chooses sexually overt/objectifying images as his/her avatar, anyway, so I suppose my original point is still confounded. That being physical idealism is not helping the (r)evolution of us humans, nor is establishment social climbing.
Icke endorses his son's advert stating "Disgustingly Handsome," and we as freethinkers/Icke supporters are subjected to this. Do you see the hypocrisy in this?
Battling the ego is a big step in being free, and becoming an active and able freedom warrior. People will preach all this shit, but when something is in their (or their kin's) own interest, they just carry on.
This conspiracy world shows itself as a hypocrite all too often, I am afraid.

Wow yes, I am indeed a full-on sexual deviant for sure, so I wouldn't have a clue what I'm talking about obviously.
But in reality I change my avatar weekly, and I've had many different themes including animals, babies, lips, hair, fairies, goddesses, eyes and fruit.
But hey, if you find a twinkling green lollipop "sexually overt" (or any of my other avatars for that matter), then good on ya I guess.....personally I just see them all as a bit of silly 'green' fun, and the lollipop was sent to me by a thoughtful forum member, as is the case with quite a few of my avatars. :)
*Note to self.....DO NOT be tempted to use the beautiful naked green lady avatar sent to me last week*

Exactly! Just because David is Gareth's dad does not mean that he should not support Gareth.. like it has been mentioned before, its about love. And yeah.. Gareth's really good looking.. *swoons*

Call me a psycho. When you realize , in my opinion, how superficiality is instilled in us through children (think barbie, the fashion, celebrity, and women media industries, car industry, plastic surgery, anorexia...etc...), then there comes a point when you have to earnestly question the promotion of physical idealism. It keeps many people in boxes such as ego, and self loathing, to name but a few. This sort of "reactionary mind" is never going to let any of us evolve into the empathetic creatures we need to be in order to break barriers and start addressing world problems.
David Icke, or at least some part of him, must know this. He promotes human empathy not based on ego in his books and lectures when talking about spirituality.
Why then is physical idealism and the "must achieve" sentiment transparent in his sons? There's Gareth, singer, model, and beach volleyball champion ("and not bad for a cripple," he'll say), and then there's the other one who's a super soccer athlete.
Look, I am making a fair comment. Icke's probably a good dad and cares about his children but that isn't the point I am trying to discuss. I am making a point about hypocrisy.

Basically, if that's what you believe, then so be it. That's your right. But you don't have a right to tell others what they should believe in, or support, especially when it comes to their children.

He can write a tune and hold it whilst simultaneously playing a guitar. Not exactly a "super talent" (even I can do this), but to find him guilty through association with his father is the cross every son needs to bare, especially if the opinion held is that the latter is less talented than the former.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are a lot of musicians that I find so-so. I just happen to like Gareth Icke's stuff quite a lot and from my perspective he's super talented. You may not think so, but that's your opinion. :)
As for the other "cross to bare" stuff...I don't believe in that stuff, therefor it doesn't apply to my point of view. It seems to me that it's the expectations of observers that creates this "cross to bare" nonsense and then assume it is the mindset or reality of those being observed - David and Gareth, in this situation. I'm sure neither David nor Gareth see it that way.
The cross to bare is your hangup.

Gareth would have to sport breasts and be a lady before I passed comment on his supposed "beauty", he looks a like a hairy-arsed geezer to me.
He's not "super talented", but he is talented.
He's not the force of nature his dad obviously is, and as his music has yet to set the world alight, age is not on his side in attaining the corporate based success his myspace blog seems to imply he wants.
And I don't have any hang up, but you obviously do.
This is my opinion.

good luck to him and all the best.
we have too many over serious people, on this forum. when it comes to serious subjects they are conspicous by their absence. when it comes to more relaxed, uplifting subjects like this, they start to get all analytical.
we should wish gareth all the best in his endeavours, theres too much negativity sometimes.

Is it negative to express an opinion on the publicly presented work of another?
No.
If you can't take the criticism of your music as well as the back-slapping, keep it in your bedroom on a TDK tape.
Anyway, Gareth's views are absent, let him speak for himself, if need be.
