The upcoming fuel shortage and general collapse of society will affect us in a vast amount of ways. Most prominently in terms of food shortages, anti-social threats such as increased burglary and violent offences (we are already seeing this), decreased availability of medical drugs etc etc.

I was just wondering what people are doing to prepare for this?

I personally am studying general physical conditioning (joint mobility, yoga/flexibility and strength training), fight specific training (martial arts) such as ground fighting, (kick)boxing and i hope to start weapon defence training as soon as i can afford it. I have done some basic stickfighting and would like to study the defence of knives particularly (seems wise esp. in UK)

I have begun veg gardening and have been studying nutrition for ages, and next year am starting a course in herbal medicine. I also want to start learning more about wild food and foraging

Mentally, getting out of debt is huge. Meditation seems to be good for balancing ones brain chemistry and nutrition plays a huge part in this. Sparring martial arts also prepares one mentally for the physical threat scenario.

Obviously, the PTB are alwys thinking up new ingenious ways to compromise these goals, but i'll take that as it comes.

Anyone just burying their head in the sand and hoping it wont happen to them?
