This article also discusses some of the implication of a meat-centered diet:

* Producing meat is less efficient than growing grain – it takes 8kg of corn to produce 1kg of beef

* Growing crops to feed animals means there is less land on which to grow crops for humans

I was thinking about this today and I reckon that they are purposely trying to create famine everywhere around the world (including the UK) using things like GM Crops etc. The Genetic modification of crops is being used as a weapon in my opinion.

To the elite, escalating oil prices are a double edged sword. Not only does it allow them to add to their wealth by speculating on and capitalising on price rises, it allows them to cause mass starvation in the developing world. As much as 60% of the recent increase in the price of oil is down to speculators. It's not difficult to see how high oil price=high food price with the extent of mechanisation involved in modern farming. This connection is never made by the mainstream media. Instead they like to blame high food prices on other, less relevant factors such as biofuels and crop failures. This serves to maintain the disconnect in the public mind between high (speculation driven) oil prices and high food prices. If enough people made the connection they would be disgusted and demand that action be taken to stop it. Unfortunately the compliant lapdog media does as the rich tell it and protects them from further inquiry.

I haven't made up my mind about where GM food fits in to the bigger agenda just yet. I think its fair to say that GM food is another attempt to rob the population of vital nutrition. However, i'm not sure if the food crises will be expedited through use of GM food, or if GM food will be the 'solution' that will be introduced after the manipulated 'food shortage' problem and inevitable public reaction. This also fits in nicely with the timeline for the implementation of Codex Alimentarius (December '09, i believe) which from what i understand is very generous toward GM food, as well as growth hormones, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, etc.

As a Canadian, I am currently trying to raise awareness about our domestic version of Codex, called Bill C-51. The bill aims to reclassify health products as drugs and toxins, fastidiously regulate them, and remove from sale a huge amount of the health products currently sold.
