:(Hi. I want to save and copy to DVD the video of Davids talk in Hull. I have tried (with my limited knowledge!) but gotten nowhere. Is there a simple explanation of how I do this? Duh!
Thanks.

If you have Firefox get the add on called Download Helper and/or YouPlayer.
With the Download Helper remember that it will NOT start to download till you shut down the page.
I'm just as stupid as the next guy concerning this stuff :o, but if you have problems or questions just ask and I'll try to explain better, I'm limited for time right now.

You need a program that converts formats into DVD vob files and optionally writes the disc for you. I use Xilisoft DVD creator, it converts pretty much anything you want (avi/slv/mpg) to DVD and does it all in one. Xilisoft make a great selection of tools.

You can use RealPlayer to easily download the flv file. A program called ConvertXtoDVD can convert flv files to DVD format. Then you can burn it to a disc with Nero or whatever.

thanks mercury rapids, I think that was the info I needed. I download vids using realplayer but I can only burn those shorter than an hour onto cd. many people have dvd's that wont play cd, so if I change the file size, can I burn onto dvd using realplayer or do I use nero for this? My 12 year old son said something about changing the file size the other day but im clueless :o

No idea... lol. I use Nero. If you want the flv to play in a normal DVD player, you'll need to convert it first. I know ConvertXtoDVD converts flv files because I've tried it. :)
I only have RealPlayer installed to download and watch the flv files on my PC. I don't use it for anything else, so I'm not up on what it really can or can't do beyond that.

Yes but you can't download with Realplayer anymore if you have Firefox 3

ConvertXtoDVD converts the flv files to the files you get on a regular video DVD (.vob etc.). Then in Nero, or whatever, you select the option to burn a DVD-Video and just add the files that ConvertXtoDVD has created into the Video folder on the DVD to be burnt.

Is it not possible for a downloadable file to be made available from this site? Would make it a lot easier for people than having to figure out how to use Firefox add-ons, convert FLV files etc...
