Cheers, he's right.
There's some weird stuff happening with these video links.
They aren't appearing properly or buffering properly.
It's intermittent. Always tricky to fix. I mean across the forum.
I'm getting a cross scripting error in case that helps (Doubleclick?)

I always hold the American Indians in the highest regard for they tell it how it really is.
They don't talk shit and beat around the bush like us whities.

When I was in San Diego California, a friend of mine invited me to go boating with a friend of his. We went to pick the guy up at his apartment in Santee. It's way out of the city and as I found out heavily populated with native americans. At his apartment I sat down and waited for him to finish getting ready. He had a big Indian headress and pictures on the mantle of ceremonies. I would have thought that this would make me very uncomfortable, being a white man and knowing the crimes of my ancestors, but it did not. I felt an overwhelming peace sitting there. It was so powerful and unique I'll never forget it. I am thankful that he accepted me into his home and now have tremendous respect any Indian who chooses to speak wisdom to us. This was 9 years ago and I remember it vividly.

Looks interesting had a quick read and I found the story good.
What do you make of it kingmonkey?
These people spin me out in the manner they deal with life and what the old ones know about it.
We could all learn a lot from the "traditional" Indians.

I liked it alot. The main guy who's story is being told is a cross between a wise elder and a run of the mill stubborn old man. He's a likeable character with a lot to say. It's modern as well so you get a glimpse into native rez life as it is now. There's a bit where he's talking about white people's obsession with owning and possession that completely opened my eyes when I first read it to another way of thinking.

They certainly do open your eye in many different ways.
What else have you read about Indians that you found interesting?
I'll be off soon but I would like to know and would like to share with you and others on this thread what I have read.

Not a lot really, I read Black Elk Speaks and the Kent Nerburn one, then started reading about ancient european/celts etc. Most of the Native American stuff I've read has been stuff on the net. I grow my own food so I've been reading about the Hopi who are good farmers. I like their artwork as well.
