2012: Popol Vuh: No mention of cataclysmic event

There is no supporting proof that the world will end in 2012, period. Mayan prophecy is based on the Popol Vuh, which does not state anything about a cataclysmic event. If anything, it makes reference to this being a time of Ascension.

I recently went to Cozemel and took a trip to the Tulum ruins. I asked my tour guide, Beto (who is Mayan) what his impressions are of 12-21-2012. Beto said, ""When Katun 20 comes, the people of corn will no longer be humans. Something bigger will happen to change our perspective of life."

He also didn't mention anything about 2012 being cataclysmic, nor does the I Ching, yet people are freaking out over this.

Through conjecture, we may surmise that the event would be catastrophic, based on the ends of each other baktun, but the end of the current baktun is completely different than the previous.

I found this article, by Carl Johan Calleman, which helps to explain Catastrophes & Enlightenment inre to 2012 (or in Calleman's belief of the end date of 10-28-2011):

To focus on possible catastrophes and earth changes or the sometimes threatening language of the Book of Revelation may serve little good. Yet, the idea that it may serve our survival to attain an Enlightened state seems only logical as a path to adapt through conscious work to the higher levels of consciousness. Many indigenous tribes, such as the Mayans in the highlands of Guatemala, are right on the mark by living on a lunar calendar versus the Gregorian calendar.

Many indian tribes are much more in tune with the earth than most non-indigenous people.

In this train of thought, Mother Earth will show her displeasure with all of the pollution, wars, nuclear waste, etc in ways that may not be pleasureable. Each of us must try to do our part in keeping Mother Earth happy.

To laugh or ridicule this premise merely shows one's inability to be open-minded while being incapable of looking "outside the box". With that in mind, these people shouldn't be concerned about 2012 because after all, it's based on an indigenous calendar.

It is the media and the PTB who seem to be promoting the catastrophic element of the 2012 saga .Just like 1999 Y2K event .keep people afraid and it makes good press ,misery loves company .the Mayan calendar date unlike Revelations at least gives an actual date in time , as we perceive it anyhow .I always thought of it as a shift from one state of consciousness into the beginning of a new one :D Wicked that you went there in person and spoke to locals about it .

We took a 45 minute boat ride from Cozumel to Tulum. From the boat, we hopped on a bus that took us to the ruins in Tulum. Our guide, Beto, is Mayan and gave us a history of the Mayan culture while riding on the bus to Tulum.

This is his account:

The universe began when a trinity of Gods, Heart of Sky, created water, followed by land trees, and animals. At this point, Heart of Sky created humans to be in charge of the planet to keep harmony with the cosmos and nature. The animals weren't intelligent enough to complete this task, so the Creators made humans because they wanted to create a being who would walk, work and talk articulately and would worship their Creators while giving their Creators offerings. Heart of Sky first created people from clay and mud, but the people were destroyed by water because they were fragile and empty. The next line of humans were made form wood but they didn't worship Heart of Sky and they were destroyed.

The last and current line of humans were made from corn because humans, like corn, will come from the dirt and follow a similar cycle. Corn begins with a seed in the dirt, becomes a corn stalk and eventually food. At this point, the corn stalk dies and goes back into the dirt as the cycle continues once again. The cycle of planting corn is every 260 days, the same as human gestation.

According to Beto, "when Katun 20 comes, the people of corn will no longer be humans". I asked Beto what his personal interpretation of this meant to which he replied, "Something bigger will happen to change our perspective of life."

We're currently on the Mayan's fifth Sun. The First Sun was destroyed by water, the second by fire, the third by hurricanes and the fourth by natural catastrophes. On this current sun, we are called the "People of Corn".

Tulum, the City of Dawn, also means "walled place" and was used as a port for commercial activity. The city is walled on 3 sides with the final side facing the sea. The foundations that remain were houses for the nobility.

On the 3 sides of Tulum, there are towers that are angled slightly. This was done to prevent erosion from the water and sand.

I'm standing on top of the cliff facing Tulum. Tulum hosts the 2nd largest coral barrier in the world, which served to protect Tulum from possible invaders by water.

On the summer solstice at 6am, the sun is perfectly aligned with the center of the Tulum Temple opening, as it is during the winter solstice and spring and fall equinoxes. The nobility controlled the commons with this knowledge and didn't tell them. The commons were threatened by the nobility that they would bring war if the commons didn't pay taxes. They conversely promised good crops if their taxes were paid.

This is the Temple of Tulum. The steps leading to the top are very narrow and steep, forcing one to look down at their feet when climbing to the top, showing respect to the building and to Kukulkan (the plumed serpent).

There's a lot of great information in there but I seriously question Clowe's supporting Calleman's end date of 10-28-2011. I almost think Calleman created a different date for monetary reasons... He does have a lot of incredible information that's presented by Clowe but discounted by John Major Jenkins.

The BIGGEST problem right now boils down to our ego's.

The government's and global Illuminati's ego of acting like they're on our side, yet merely controlling us like puppets.

The media's ego is seemingly is tied into the government with the sensationalism of negative programming. Look at your local 6 o'clock news. Is the world really that bad? Is there any good news that's going on in your community that's getting reported? How do you feel after watching the news?

Corporate America and global Illuminati continue to suppress it's workers. We're currently facing a recession, yet the big bosses of corporate America and global Illuminati are still making the big $$$. I bet they sleep easily at night knowing they could do more for their employees by giving more from the top to the people at the bottom who are actually supporting their bosses high salaries.

On an individual basis, it all seems like a futile effort. People get to the point of saying, "What difference can I make? I'm just one preson." Our individual egos have taken over in how we view 2012. Many people are reflecting their own insecurities and suppressed negativity by viewing 2012 as a day to fear. Is anyone surprised? They're merely reflecting their government's control over them.

Hence, the puppets are us and the marionettes of the government and global Illuminati are pulling our strings.

Second, I'd like to ask a question. You've read a lot more than I have on this subject and of those books previously mentioned, which one do you believe is the most accurate? And just going from your own understanding do you there'll be singular moment of consciousness expansion on December 21, 2012?

I've heard it both ways. That that date is just a beginning and that it could occur gradually or that it could happen in a "bright and loud" moment on the given date. David Wilcock, using the Ra material, seems to have ruled out the gradual process. I hope I made my question clear enough.

I don't believe there will be some global catastrophe in 2012. My opinion of the calendar is that it is just another cycle ending, like any calendar. In ancient times people often looked at the end of cycles as points when bd things could happen before the new cycle begins, so it is not out of keeping with this general attitude.
In one of my books the Aztecs come to the end of a 52 year cycle and destroy all their possessions, building are repainted and people fast. This is because they think a bad event might happen during this end of the cycle. What then happens is it passes with no problems, they rebuild their lives and crack on. 2012 will be the same.

From my own experience, our consciousness is expanding as we speak! We're not physically ready to become 4th and 5th dimensional beings because there's too much hatred and insecurity in this world. Imagine if thoughts instantly became manifestations RIGHT NOW? Ego would take over and everybody would, initially, want to wish all sorts of wonderful things for themselves. The world doesn't revolve around us and our egos! This wouldn't be a good thing right now.

OR

Think of those in power. How would they handle thoughts equalling manifestations? They've already tried to keep us down through their power, greed, selfishness and corruption but they're realizing their time is limited before we ALL have COMPLETE truth and knowledge of the lies they've put before us. This also wouldn't be a good thing.

OR

Think about all of the gang fights, drug addictions and general hatred and corrpution through out our society. Would thoughts equaling manifestations be a good thing for these people? Nope.

Through "The Secret" we've already tapped into the 4th dimension. This is essentially testing the waters for 4th dimension and beyond compatibility. Do we use The Secret for our own benefit or for the benefit of others? Or both?

I have a gut feeling that before we, as a global community, delve into a full expansion of consciousness, something really big will happen that will help to change our overall collective consciousness to a more positive overall state of being. It seems too many people live in fear or are so brainwashed from watching TV that they're oblivious to the changes that are happening.

This planet isn't ready for the 4th and 5th dimensions. Part of the problem is that we're too locked into a false sense of "time".

I got a book on EC's prophecies for the 21st century and it sounds nothing like what Wilcock is saying, even though the source is supposed to be the same.

We all have these abilities but they're not being encouraged to be used by our society. Society teaches us to think "inside the box" and to use our left side of the brain. My Higher Self tells me otherwise, as I suspect that yours is doing likewise!

This is just a suggestion: Push the envelope of the 4th and 5th dimension. Challenge conservative ways of thinking!

Here are some suggestions that I'm currently trying:

1. Take a deck of cards and pick out one random card without seeing what that card is. Concentrate on the card and try to guess what it is. Start out with smaller goals: Visualize and try to sense whether it's a black or red card; face card or not; etc.

One day, I kept having a vision of a card: the 7 of Diamonds. I picked up a deck of cards, shuffled them and cut 'em. Guess what card I saw? Yep, the 7 of Diamonds. If that wasn't enough, I went to my ex-wife's house to pick up my daughter the very next day. My ex had a deck of cards on her dining room table with one card face up. Guess what card it was? Yep, the 7 of Diamonds! I know I'm tapping into the Universal Consciousness right now and that's why I keep pushing the envelope.

2. Have someone pick out a card and have them intently focus on it. Try reading their mind.

3. When you meditate, REALLY get to know your Higher Self. The first time I connected with my Higher Self it was amazing. My Higher Self was SO HAPPY that I FINALLY made the connection. The best way to describe this connection is that it felt like an otter was circling all over my body with happiness. In my case, my Higher Self is very playful, loving and happy. It's also extremely "layered" like waves in an ocean. It really helped to explain why I'm so attracted to water, especially the ocean. A good friend of mine's Higher Self is also very playful but hers is more inquisitive. There's no right or wrong Higher Self.

One other meditation suggestion (I got this from a good friend). When you meditate, envision yourself hugging the world, as if your arms are encircled around the globe. Then envision that you're hugging the galaxy...universe, etc. This may or may not help increase your intuitive abilities but it won't hurt to do so either!

4. If you have a pet, send telepathic thoughts to him or her. Dogs and cats work best for this. Think of words or sounds that they will immediately recognize. If you don't have any pets, go fo a walk in nature and try this on birds as you approach them. Send out a message of love and watch how much more trusting they are of you!

5. Try to physically move an object with your mind. Start out with something small and light like a playing card or a marble. I haven't tried this yet because I'm still working on 1-4 but it's on my list of "Things to Do".

Think of other ways to push the envelope. DON'T remain caught inside the box (which I don't think you are!) Keep pushing yourself in ways that resonate within YOU!!! There is no right or wrong pay to do this, just as long as you're moving forward instead of stagnating like most of society.

We're currently in a period of time that enables us to make monumental leaps and bounds in spirituality!!! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity (at least once every 26,000 years or so!)

Slightly off topic: I just watched an awesome movie yesterday called Esoteric Agenda. This move was, perhaps, the best two hours I ever spent doing anything! It tied everything together from the Illuminati to spirituality and gave me piece of mind while doing so!
