..It certainly was a ritual war... particularly the ritual sacrifice of Sadam Hussein who was killed to coincide with the Muslim eid-al-adha, the feast of the sacrifice, which celebrates the testing of Isac and the sparing of his son by God's grace...
By killing Sadam at this very time the US gave a clear message that Moslems are the sacrifical animal... It is deeply disrespectful to kill a moslem (obviously) but at this time it is taking the piss.. That's the word on the street in Egypt anyways...
