I think of Iran as all desert. Many people think of Oklahoma as all flat treeless plains. We have some very beautiful hills and contryside much like pics I have seen of the UK. Weird how we get general impressions and just think they are true.

Anyone who hasn't checked out the link in the OP should check it out. The whole point of the website was to challenge people's notions about what Iran is like. Geographically and climatically, Iran is somewhat like a much larger and even more diverse version of California.

Here's another website with photos of Iran (a few of the photos are the same as the OP):

Yes beautiful pics. I've one or two Iranian friends and they're very freindly down to earth level headed people, not easily fooled politically either.

Shame that raising awareness over the web isn't gonna change a damn thing. The criminals that now control our Governments will have their war at all costs. Unless masses of people suddenly start waking up shortly, fat chance.

if you scroll down to the bottom of those pictures at http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/09/where-was-this-picture-taken.html there are some excellent articles linked from there.

Saudi Arabia is doing its best to overthrow Iran via terrorism (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/09/sleeping-with-the-devil-how-u-s-and-saudi-backing-of-al-qaeda-led-to-911.html), and is persecuting Christians and Jews much more than Iran (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/08/u-s-government-is-prosecuting-christians.html).

Maybe we should learn a little bit more (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/02/would-you-support-an-iran-war-if.html) before deciding whether or not to bomb Iran?

Especially since the U.S. has been claiming for more than 30 years that Iran was on the verge of nuclear capability (http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Middle-East/2011/1108/Imminent-Iran-nuclear-threat-A-timeline-of-warnings-since-1979/Earliest-warnings-1979-84), and top American and Israeli defense and intelligence bosses say that bombing Iran will only increase the odds that Iran will actually build a nuclear weapon (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/01/american-defense-and-intelligence-chiefs-attacking-iran-will-increase-odds-that-iran-will-build-a-nuclear-bomb.html)?

There's very few driving laws in Iran. Iranian drivers generally ignore road signs and traffic lights, which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing. Because countries like England are the complete opposite where all the laws governing our roads and the increased costs of running a car, like fuel, road tax, and insurance is taking the fun out of driving. In addition we all drive in fear of speed cameras, bus lane cameras, cameras at traffic lights etc. Where as in Iran red lights are purely advisery to act as a warning to drivers, and are not there to govern or impose draconian regulations. But they need Western style dumbocracy to save them from this tyranny you see...

"Iran Worried U.S. Might Be Building 8,500th Nuclear Weapon

TEHRAN—Amidst mounting geopolitical tensions, Iranian officials said Wednesday they were increasingly concerned about the United States of America's uranium-enrichment program, fearing the Western nation may soon be capable of producing its 8,500th nuclear weapon. "Our intelligence estimates indicate that, if it is allowed to progress with its aggressive nuclear program, the United States may soon possess its 8,500th atomic weapon capable of reaching Iran," said Iranian foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi, adding that Americans have the fuel, the facilities, and "everything they need" to manufacture even more weapons-grade fissile material. "Obviously, the prospect of this happening is very distressing to Iran and all countries like Iran. After all, the United States is a volatile nation that's proven it needs little provocation to attack anyone anywhere in the world whom it perceives to be a threat." Iranian intelligence experts also warned of the very real, and very frightening, possibility of the U.S. providing weapons and resources to a rogue third-party state such as Israel."

first I thought of Iran (that underpass rings the bell - I thought I have seen that pic before) but since it was said that images were representing an "European" country and even though Turkey is not part of -- I thought that original poster was bit confused thinking that turkey is in Europe.

now i can see why he posted this trick question -- very clever.
Those answers that identified the pictures as part of Switzerland tell the truth -- that it is so easy to manipulate human perception.

for example, average American has the image of camels and desert sand and primitive tribesman as what Iran looks like.
Reality is that many parts of America (like Detroit) look like a wasteland compared to the lands of those "primitive people" that America loves to bomb daily.

Climate of Iran if you can read french:

It's much more varied than I thought but the pink bit is 'hot dry desert', the medium blue bits are cold mountains. I'd actually like to go to the north now, haha.
