Things I remember from about the age of 3 or so, before the programming (school) began at 5.
As a child I just could not get my head around the concept of people owning land. Surely God gave the earth to all the creatures. I still remember feeling the huge injustice of it.
I remember being taught the bible, but it was so hypocritical. It only spoke to men (thy should not covet thy neighbour's wife etc) and they were all begatting children with their serving maids etc. So that didn't wash with me.
I was given Janet and John books (showing my age here) and was cross with them because Janet was always stuck at home with Mummy while John went out fishing with Daddy and having other adventures.
Andy Pandy was another one I got mad at. Looby Lou would come out of her cupboard and do all the chores and get back in the cupboard before Andy and Teddy woke up and they thought it was magic. Grrrr!
I suppose the conditioning was still in its early days then and it has got a lot more subtle over the years. Also, they start younger now, making kids go to nursery from the age of 3.
Anyone else have memories like this from their childhood or was I just a strange child?!
