The Marree Man

The Marree Man, as it has become known in Australia, is a geoglyph (a figure or symbol cut into the earth). It was carved into a plateau near Marree, in central Australia, just outside the 200,000 square kilometre Woomera Prohibited Area (the largest land weapons range in the world, and the site of the controversial Maralinga atomic tests in the 1950's.)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/83/Marree_man.jpg

Discovered by a local pilot in 1998, the Marree Man 'geoglyph' depicts an Aboriginal man hunting with a throwing stick. It is the largest piece of artwork in the world, and remains one of the world's great unsolved mysteries. It measures four kilometres (yes, kilometres!)from head to toe, and who cut the figure and why remains a mystery. 28km in circumference and ploughed into the plateau with the aid, surveyors suggest, of a satellite-linked global positioning system.

The current theory is the image was created by American service personnel from the nearby American satellite spy base, scheduled to close down at the end of the century. The motive is still not clear, whether it is a "polite" thank you or an flying finger salute to their Australian landlords.

Experts estimate that the creation of the geoglyph must have taken between four and eight weeks, scraping off the vegetation by satellite-guided bulldozer to expose the underlying surface. Yet eight years on, no one has ever claimed responsibility for the bizarre artwork and there have still been no witnesses to such a massive operation.

During the initial investigation of the site, a shallow pit was found, containing a satellite photo of the figure, a jar containing a small flag of the United States, and a note which referred to the Branch Davidian cult who were infamous for being attacked in the Waco raid in 1993. Later, the police found vehicle tracks, and some used toilet paper.

When discovered, the outline of the figure was 20–30 cm deep into the earth, and up to 35 metres in width. Even with a 2.5 metre wide dozer, this would require up to 14 passes. It is estimated that the bulldozer would have covered 400 kilometres and used up more than 300 litres of fuel.

To select a suitable site, aerial photography or satellite imagery would have been needed. Using a computer, the figure could have been superimposed over the photograph and adjusted to fit the geography with the corresponding latitude and longtitude coordinates mapped out. Some surveying skills would have been needed to plot the outline, and then with the aid of a hand-held global positioning system stakes could have been placed every hundred metres or so.

The image is gradually eroding through natural processes, but because the climate is extremely dry and barren in the region, the image is still visible. While there is a layer of white chalk material slightly below the red soil, the figure was not defined to this depth. This has led to questions as to why the creators would not have dug a little deeper and made the image both more visible and more permanent.

South Australia's daily newspaper called for the figure to be made permanent by excavating the outline down to the white chalk layer. However the site was closed shortly after discovery when some members of the Dieri tribe, whose lands lie east of Marree complained of harm and exploitation of the Dreamtime. The Environment minister called it "environmental vandalism", and the South Australian chief of Aboriginal affairs said it was nothing more than "graffiti". While access to the site has been prohibited by the South Australian government, joy flights are still allowed over the site, which falls under Federal Government jurisdiction.

The plot thickens...

The year after the discovery of the figure, a fax received at a London hotel carried information of a plaque buried 5 metres south of the nose of the Marree Man. The fax idicated that the plaque was intended to be dug up by a "prominent US media figure" shortly before the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Sure enough, a plaque was found, bearing the American flag, an imprint of the Olympic rings, and a quote from the H.H. Finlayson book, "The Red Centre". Taken from a section of his book that talks about Aborigines hunting wallabies with a throwing stick, the quote reads:

http://www.cairnsunlimited.com/popups/images/w_marree_man_greyscale_outline.jpg

Of course, there is much conjecture as to the origins of the giant geoglyph. Some say that American servicemen based at the Australian Space Research Institute at Woomera created it, to leave a lasting memento of their time in Australia. Others believe that workers from the Olympic Dam mine at nearby Roxby Downs were responsible; they certainly would have had access to the heavy earthmoving equipment, but why? A couple travelling along the Oodnadatta Track at the time later reported having seen a unit of three Australian Defence Force vehicles, one of them carrying a bulldozer, but the ADF insists that none of their personnel were within 200 kilometres of the figure during the time it was being made.

Hi william.

The conversion from miles to kilometers goes something like this...

1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers

We converted about 30 years ago from miles to kilometers, and it takes a bit to get your head round.

The old 30 mph round town speed limit coverts to 50km per hour

:)

EDIT:
Please do post some of your strange "shit" on the thread William....lots of people are interested in this stuff.

Piri Reis Map

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff176/sohail84/pirimap2.jpg
http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff176/sohail84/pirireis.jpg

The Piri Reis map was made at constantinople in 1513 A.D. It focuses on the western coast of Africa, eastern coast of South America and northern west of Antarctica. But, Antarctica as you may know was discovered only in 1818 A.D., more than 300 years after Piri Reis drew the map. The ice free coast of Queen Maudland (Antarctica) shown in the map had been surveyed & chartered in an ice free condition with the latest date of 4000 B.C.

Prior to 4000 BC there flourished no civilization at all. Civilization first developed in the fertile crescent of the middle east. The first known civilization was the Sumerian civilization (present Iraq) and then the Egyptian civilization around 3000 BC, soon followed by the Indus Valley civilization.

The Piri Reis map demonstrated knowledge of South America - eastern coast, andes mountains, western side of the continent which were unknown at that time.

So who was Piri Reis. His real name was Muhiddin Piri. He was Karamanli Haci Ali Mehmed’s son and the nephew of one of the most famous sailors of Ottoman Empire, Kemal Reis. He died because of a slander about the people of Hurmus Island. The map was drawn with a 22.5 angles inclination. He proved that the world is neither an eternity-wide nor a geoid (circular), with his 16-wides map. The last pictures of the world that NASA had published tells the same about being 16-wides. The plant, animal figures and the ways of winds that are truly true today are all amazing ..So how could he depict with such precision and how did he know the shape South America, Africa? Piri Reis admitted that he drew the map by looking at some other sources. What could that source be? who depicted the shapes, sizes of the continents on the map?

The Nazca Lines

The Nazca Desert is a high plateau about sixty miles long and five miles wide on the coast of Peru, some 250 miles south of Lima. At some time before 1000 BCE, the Nazca Valley was inhabited by a people who developed advanced farming methods that allowed them to build an irrigation system, improve their crops, and expand the area of land they could farm. Over the next 1,500 years, they also developed outstanding skills in weaving, pottery, and architecture. The Nazca were wiped out after the Spanish conquest, so that piece of history is quite blank. Perhaps the most fascinating of their cultural achievements was the creation of a remarkable ground art -- the exact purpose of which remains a mystery.

http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/gifs/nazbird.jpg

Occasional travelers through Nazca had doubtless noticed the strange and obviously artificial lines in the desert floor, but the lines were unimpressive and meaningless at ground level. As planes began to pass over the Nazca region, air travelers saw that some of the lines formed parts of gigantic figures whose shape could only be appreciated from the air. Aerial photographs of the region proved to be highly dramatic.

Therein lies the mystery. Why would anyone bother to make figures that could only be appreciated from the air in an era when there were no airplanes? It is well established that these drawings are at least fifteen hundred years old.

Archaeologists have developed several explanations for this: one is that the figures, probably of religious significance, were not meant to be seen as a while by human eyes; a second is that the Nazca people built balloons that allowed them to view the figures when they flew over the sites. This suggestion, while not impossible, lacks supporting evidence.

http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/gifs/nazspidr.jpg

The so-called Nazca lines, of which there are thousands, consist, according to investigator William H. Isbell, of five kinds of markings: long straight lines; large geometric figures; drawings of plants and animals; rock piles; and figures decorating hillsides.

Image found at www.qtm.net/~geibdan/oldufos/peru.html
There are drawings of birds, spiders, fishes, even a monkey, and a few unidentifiable creatures. There are also rectangular shapes and a large number of straight lines that run apparently from nowhere to nowhere.

The lines may be as narrow as six inches or as wide as several hundred yards. Some run for many miles. The Nazca people created some of them by removing dark surface stones and placing them in the desired patterns. For others, according to William E. Shawcross, they removed the desert’s "thin brown surface coating" by walking or sweeping across it, "[exposing] the creamy pink soil underneath." Because of the area’s dry, stable climate, these light-colored Nazca lines have remained nearly unchanged for many centuries.

One of the first modern researchers to become interested in the Nazca figures was an American scholar, Paul Koosk. He thought that the lines represented "the largest astronomy book in the world." He believed that the lines pointed to certain astronomical alignments.

Koosk died before he could expand on his theory, but the work was taken up by Dr. Maria Reiche, a German-born astronomer and mathematician who pursued the theory with almost fanatical intensity. She worked out a huge number of astronomical calculations.

Dr. Reiche’s conclusions have not been accepted by other scientists. The basic problem is that there are a lot of lines and an almost infinite number of possible astronomical correlations.

The Nazca lines attracted public attention not long after the heyday of UFO sightings began. In the 1950s, as more and more books and magazine articles addressed UFOs, some writers looked back to ancient history and mythology for evidence of early space visitors. In an article in the October 1955 issue of Fate, James W. Moseley suggested that since the markings were largely invisible from the ground, the Nazca people must have "constructed their huge markings as signals to interplanetary visitors or to some advanced earth race... that occasionally visited them."

In the early 1960s a French best-seller by Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier, published in America as The Morning of the Magicians, included the Nazca lines in its theory of ancient astronauts. This idea, that advanced space beings visited the earth early in human history and played a part in the development of human intelligence and technology, reached its greatest popularity with Swiss writer Erich von Daniken’s book Chariot of the Gods?, first published in West Germany in 1968 and reprinted in translated editions around the world. According to von Daniken, the Nazca lines marked out an "airfield" on which spacecraft landed and took off.

Still, nothing in the nature of these lines points to such a purpose. In fact, a critic of von Daniken stated, "It hardly seems reasonable that advanced extraterrestrial spacecraft would require landing strips," adding that Nazca’s "soft, sandy soil" was hardly suitable for an airport.

Yet when the first space shuttle flight landed at Edwards AFB in California, many who viewed the landing on television were struck by the similarity of the markings that covered the field on which the shuttle landed and those in the Nazca desert.

Oronteus Finaeus Map
The Oronteus Finaeus world map pf 1531 reveals the general shape of the Antarctica. The position of the south pole nearly in the center of the continent was also clearly depicted on the map. The mountain ranges were individualized, rivers were shown flowing into the sea. These suggest that the coasts may have been ice free when the original map was drawn.

The Oronteus Finaeus map was compiled and copied from several earlier source maps, just like the Piri Reis map was. It shows non glacial conditions in coastal regions of Antarctica. It also shows estuaries, broad inlets and indication of rivers. These evidence provides strong corroboration foe the notion that Antarctica must have been mapped by some unknown highly advanced civilization during the extensively ice free period which ended around 4000 BC.

Philip Bauche Map
Philip Bauche, 18th century French geographer published a map of Antarctica long before the southern continent was even officially discovered. The map was published in 1737 and Antarctica was discovered in 1818. Bauche's map gives us precise representation of Antarctica as it must have looked where there was no ice on it at all. His map reveals the sub glacial topography of the entire continent, which even we did not have full knowledge of until 1958.

Dulcert Portulano Map

The Deadly Case of 9 Fleeing Skiers
By Svetlana Osadchuk
Staff Writer

For MT
Yury Yudin hugging Lyudmila Dubinina as he prepares to leave the group due to illness in late January 1959. The ski expedition's leader, Igor Dyatlov, is watching.

Nine experienced cross-country skiers hurriedly left their tent on a Urals slope in the middle of the night, casting aside skis, food and their warm coats.

Clad in their sleepwear, the young people dashed headlong down a snowy slope toward a thick forest, where they stood no chance of surviving bitter temperatures of around minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Baffled investigators said the group died as a result of "a compelling unknown force" -- and then abruptly closed the case and filed it as top secret.

The deaths, which occurred 49 years ago on Saturday, remain one of the deepest mysteries in the Urals. Records related to the incident were unsealed in the early 1990s, but friends of those who died are still searching for answers.

"If I had a chance to ask God just one question, it would be, 'What really happened to my friends that night?'" said Yury Yudin, the only member of the skiing expedition who survived.

Yudin and nine other students from the Ural Polytechnic Institute embarked on the skiing expedition to Otorten Mountain in the northern Urals on Jan. 28, 1959. Yudin fell ill near Vizhai, the last settlement before the mountain, and was left behind.

What happened next has been reconstructed from the diaries of the rest of the group and the photographs they took. Copies of the diaries, photos and investigators' records were reviewed for this article.

The skiers, led by Igor Dyatlov, 23, set up camp for the night of Feb. 2 on the slope of Kholat-Syakhl, a mountain next to Otorten. They pitched their tents at around 5:00 p.m., investigators said, citing photos that they developed from rolls of film found among the abandoned belongings.

Why the nine skiers picked the spot is unclear. The group could have detoured just 1.5 kilometers down the mountain to a forest, where they would have found shelter from the harsh elements.

"Dyatlov probably did not want to lose the distance they had covered, or he decided to practice camping on the mountain slope," Yudin said by telephone from Solikamsk, a town near Yekaterinburg, where the institute, now named Ural State Technical University, is located.

When the group left the institute for the expedition, Dyatlov promised to send a telegram as soon as they returned to Vizhai from Otorten Mountain, which he said would be by Feb. 12.

But Yudin said Dyatlov told him when they parted ways that the group would probably return a few days later than planned.

As such, no one was worried when the group failed to reappear on Feb. 12.

Only on Feb. 20, after relatives raised the alarm, did the institute send out a search-and-rescue team of teachers and students. The police and army dispatched their airplanes and helicopters later.

Puzzling Evidence

The volunteer rescuers found the abandoned camp on Feb. 26.

"We discovered that the tent was half torn down and covered with snow. It was empty, and all the group's belongings and shoes had been left behind," Mikhail Sharavin, the student who found the tent, said by telephone from Yekaterinburg.

Investigators said the tent had been cut open from inside and counted traces of footprints from eight or nine people in meter-deep snow. The footprints had been left by people who were wearing socks, a single shoe or were barefoot.

Investigators matched the footprints to the members of the group, saying there was no evidence of a struggle or that other people had entered the camp.

The footsteps led down the slope toward the forest but disappeared after 500 meters.

Sharavin found the first two bodies at the edge of the forest, under a towering pine tree. The two -- Georgy Krivonischenko, 24, and Yury Doroshenko, 21, were barefoot and dressed in their underclothes.

Charred remains of a fire lay nearby. The branches on the tree were broken up to five meters high, suggesting that a skier had climbed up to look for something, perhaps the camp, Sharavin said. Broken branches also were scattered on the snow.

The next three bodies -- Dyatlov, Zina Kolmogorova, 22, and Rustem Slobodin, 23 -- were found between the tree and the camp. The way the bodies were lying indicated that the three had been trying to return to the camp.

The authorities immediately opened a criminal investigation, but autopsies failed to find evidence of foul play. Doctors said the five had died of hypothermia. Slobodin's skull was fractured, but the injury was not considered fatal.

It took two months to locate the remaining skiers. Their bodies were found buried under four meters of snow in a forest ravine, 75 meters away from the pine tree. The four -- Nicolas Thibeaux-Brignollel, 24, Ludmila Dubinina, 21, Alexander Zolotaryov, 37, and Alexander Kolevatov, 25 -- appeared to have suffered traumatic deaths. Thibeaux-Brignollel's skull had been crushed, and Dubunina and Zolotarev had numerous broken ribs. Dubinina also had no tongue.

The bodies, however, showed no external wounds.

The four were better dressed than the rest, and those who had died first had apparently relinquished their clothes to the others. Zolotaryov was wearing Dubinina's faux fur coat and hat, while Dubinina's foot was wrapped in a piece of Krivonishenko's wool pants.

Deepening the mystery, a test of the clothes found they contained high levels of radiation.

The investigation, however, was closed after a few months, and investigators said they could not find anyone to accuse of wrongdoing. Case files were sent to a secret archive. Skiers and other adventurers were barred from the area for three years.

"I was 12 at that time, but I do remember the deep resonance that the accident had with the public, despite the authorities' efforts to keep relatives and investigators silent," said Yury Kuntsevich, head of the Yekaterinburg-based Dyatlov Foundation, which is trying to unravel the mystery.

Investigators first explored the theory that the local Mansi people had killed the skiers in revenge for trespassing on their land. No evidence, however, was found to back up the theory; Neither Otorten nor Kholat-Syakhl were considered sacred or taboo places by the Mansi, case documents said.

Further debunking the theory, a doctor who examined the bodies in 1959 said he believed that no man could have inflicted the injuries because the force of the blows had been too strong and no soft tissue had been damaged,

"It was equal to the effect of a car crash," said the doctor, Boris Vozrozhdenny, according to case documents.

'Bright Flying Spheres'

In 1990, the chief investigator, Lev Ivanov, said in an interview that he had been ordered by senior regional officials to close the case and classify the findings as secret. He said the officials had been worried by reports from multiple eyewitnesses, including the weather service and the military, that "bright flying spheres" had been spotted in the area in February and March 1959.

"I suspected at the time and am almost sure now that these bright flying spheres had a direct connection to the group's death," Ivanov told Leninsky Put, a small Kazakh newspaper. He retired in Kazakhstan and has since died.

The declassified files contain testimony from the leader of a group of adventurers who camped about 50 kilometers south of the skiers on the same night. He said his group saw strange orange spheres floating in the night sky in the direction of Kholat-Syakhl.

Ivanov speculated that one skier might have left the tent during the night, seen a sphere and woken up the others with his cries. Ivanov said the sphere might have exploded as they ran toward the forest, killing the four who had serious injuries and cracking Slobodin's skull.

Yudin said he also thought an explosion had killed his friends. He said the level of secrecy surrounding the incident suggests that the group might have inadvertently entered a secret military testing ground. He said the radiation on the clothes supported his theory.

Kuntsevich agreed, saying another clue to the deaths was the fact that the faces of the first five bodies had been inexplicably tan. "I attended the funerals of the first five victims and remember that their faces look liked they had a deep brown tan," he said.

Yudin also said the released documents contained no information about the condition of the skiers' internal organs. "I know for sure that there were special boxes with their organs sent for examination, " he said.

No traces of an explosion, however, have been found near Kholat-Syakhl.

No Records of Missiles

While a missile fired from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan could have reached the northern Urals, there are no records of any launches at the time, said Alexander Zeleznyakov, a historian on Soviet missiles and a senior official with the Korolyov Rocket and Space Corporation Energia. The Soviet Union's other main launch pad, Plesetsk, only opened in late 1959. Zeleznyakov also said the surface-to-air missiles that could have been launched from the pads had not yet been built.

The Defense Ministry and the Yekaterinburg regional prosecutor's office said they had no immediate information, citing the age of the case.

Kuntsevich said he had led a group to the area last year and found a "cemetery" of scrap metal that suggested the military had conducted experiments there at some time.

"We can't say what kind of military technology was tested, but the catastrophe of 1959 was man-made," he said.

Yudin said the military might have found the tent before the volunteer rescuers. He said he had been asked to identify the owner of every object found at the scene and had failed to find a match for a piece of cloth that looked like it had come from a soldier's coat, a pair of glasses, a pair of skis and a piece of a ski.

Yudin also said he had seen documents that led him to believe that the criminal investigation had been opened on Feb. 6, 14 days before the search team found the tent.

Dyatlov's friends have looked into whether the deaths might have been caused by an avalanche. Setting up the camp on the slope might have disturbed the snow above, causing it to tumble down a few hours later. This would explain the ripped tent, which the skiers would have had to cut open to exit.

Skeptics of this theory point out that the skiers left the camp by foot and traveled more than a kilometer in minus 30 C.

Thibeaux-Brignollel would have been unconscious due to his shattered skull, said Mikhail Kornev, a doctor with the S.M. Kirov Russian Medical Military Academy.

But his friends could have carried him. After all, investigators could not decide whether there were eight or nine pairs of footprints in the snow.

Also, Dubinina and Zolotarev could have walked with their broken ribs, Kornev said. "I can grant this possibility since the situation was extreme," he said.

Six former rescuers and 31 independent experts gathered Friday in Yekaterinburg to look for answers about the incident. They concluded that the military had been carrying out tests in the area and had inadvertantly caused the deaths.

But "we still lack documents and ask the Defense Ministry, the space agency and the FSB to provide us with them to obtain a full picture," the participants said in a statement.

The conference was organized by Ural State Technical University, the Dyatlov Foundation and several nongovernmental organizations.

What really happened on the night of Feb. 2, 1959, may never be known. But Dyatlov is unlikely to be forgotten anytime soon. The area where the group set up their last camp has been officially named Dyatlov's Pass.

MYSTERIOUS CHINA STONE FROM OUTER SPACE

http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/4/3/2/f_fchinarock3m_bd94413.jpg

An uncommon stone imbedded with screw-threaded metal bar from a collector in Lanzhou Mr. Zhilin Wang. He found this stone on a field research trip to the Mazong Mountain area located on the border of Gansu and Xijiang provinces. The pear-shaped stone is extremely hard and has a mysterious black color. It is about 8 x 7 cm and weighs 466 grams. The most surprising part of the stone is the imbedded 6 cm cone-shaped metal bar which bears clear screw threads. The stone is one of the most valuable in China and in the world. There are many hypotheses about the formation of this stone, but all seem to be incredible. The screw-threaded metal bar is tightly enclosed in the black lithical material. Neither the bar's entrance to the stone nor the exposed bar tip appear to be man-made. Moreover, the screw thread width remains consistent from the thick end to the thin end, instead of varying due to the growth of organisms. Is this a relic from a prehistoric civilization? Could it be a stony meteorite having any message from an extraterrestrial civilization for us?. How the stone was formed? It is suspected of being from outer space.

The mechanical features of the object suggest a highly sophisticated level of aerodynamics and construction. The objects are very old and small, approximately 2 inches long, objects, made of gold are estimated to be AT LEAST 1,000 years old. For archaeologists the artifacts were depicting animals and were classified as Sinu, a pre-Inca culture from A.D. 500 to 800... But only for them. For aeronautical engineers these objects more looked like airplanes with delta-shaped wings. So in 1997 they built a scaled up version of the objects to the exact specifications of the prototypes with the simple addition of an engine and propeller. The test was succesful. The radio controlled aircraft flew performing airborn loops, rolls and other manuevers, and then performed perfect landing.
According to Dr. Ivan Sanderson, who studied the artifacts, these look too "mechanical" like an airplane, to be a natural object. Other similar objects have been discovered in Costa Rica, Venezuela and Peru. Who used these planes in prehistoric times?

CRYSTAL SKULL UNEARTHED AT THE ANCIENT MAYAN CITY OF LUBAANTUM

http://img27.picoodle.com/img/img27/4/3/2/f_fbenizembe7m_3739045.jpg

"...a human size and shaped, clear quartz skull, 11.7 lbs, two pieces with a separate jaw, discovered in Lubaantum (now Belize) in 1924 in the ruins of a Mayan City by F. A. Mitchell-Hedges. This skull is currently near Toronto, Canada with Anna Mitchell-Hedges, his adopted daughter. The skull is an almost absolute copy of our own human skull except it is circular in the temples and has a handle like form in the cheekbones. When the skull is not activated, it is clear as glass. ANCIENT" - an opinion of Joshua Shapiro, the Crystal Skull Explorer. The most known crystal skull is called the Mitchell-Hedges Skull. It's particularly famous because it's very similar in form to a modern human skull. Scientists still do not know how the skull was constructed and who made it. The Mitchell-Hedges skull is made of clear quartz crystal and both cranium and mandible appear to originate from the same solid block. It is almost an anatomically accurate replica of a human skull. The cranial measurements of other crystal skulls are definitely not the same as present human skulls.

500,000 YEAR OLD SPARK PLUG KNOWN AS THE COSO ARTIFACT

http://img30.picoodle.com/img/img30/4/3/2/f_fcosom3a0d7m_5a39783.jpg

Was unearthed in the Coso Mountains, California, while looking for unusual rocks. One of these pieces of rock contained inside remains of some kind of device. Beneath the outer layer of hardened clay, pebbles and fossil inclusions was a hexagonal shaped layer of a substance resembling wood, softer than agate or jasper. This layer formed a casing around a three-quarter inch wide cylinder made of solid white porcelain or ceramic, and in the center of the cylinder is a two millimeter shaft of shiny metal core, about .08 inch (2 millimeters) in diameter. Also, surrounding the ceramic cylinder are rings of copper, mostly corroded. Embedded too in the rock, though separate from the cylinder, are two more man-made items - what look like a nail and a washer. The rock, in which the artifact resembling a spark plug was found, was dated to about 500,000 year old. Those who manufactured this artifact had to possess an advanced technology.

METALLIC SPHERES OF SOUTH AFRICA FOUND IN A MINERAL DEPOSIT 2.8 BILLION YEARS OLD

http://img32.picoodle.com/img/img32/4/3/2/f_fsaspherembm_a4136c0.jpg

http://img27.picoodle.com/img/img27/4/3/2/f_fspheresmedm_3e0ef64.jpg

M.Cremo wrote in his great book "The hidden history of the human race" about spheres: "Over the past several decades, South African miners have found hundreds of metallic spheres, at least one of which has three parallel grooves running around its equator."

The spheres are of two types - "one of solid bluish metal with white flecks, and another which is a hollow ball filled with a white spongy center" (Jimison 1982).

Roelf Marx, curator of the museum of Klerksdorp, South Africa, where some of the spheres are housed, said: "The spheres are a complete mystery. They look man-made, yet at the time in Earth's history when they came to rest in this rock no intelligent life existed. They´e nothing like I have ever seen before." "There is nothing scientific published about the globes, but the facts are: They are found in pyrophyllite, which is mined near the little town of Ottosdal in the Western Transvaal. This pyrophyllite (Al2Si4O10(OH)2) is a quite soft secondary mineral with a count of only 3 on the Mohs' scale and was formed by sedimentation about 2.8 billion years ago. On the other hand the globes, which have a fibrous structure on the inside with a shell around it, are very hard and cannot be scratched, even by steel."

The Mohs' scale of hardness is named after Friedrich Mohs, who chose ten minerals as references points for comparative hardness, with talc the softest and diamond the hardest (Roelf Marx, September 12, 1984).

According to the opinions of scientists the spheres are "limonite concretions" Limonite is a kind of iron ore...."A concretion is a compact, rounded rock mass formed by localized cementation around a nucleus. (M.Cremo)"

But there is a one "small" problem... with limonite concretions. They are not particular hard (only 4 to 5.5 on the Mohs`scale of hardness), but the spheres are extremely hard.... Moreover limonite concretions appear in groups and not in perfectly round and isolated objects like puzzling spheres do... Another problem is that one of the spheres has three perfect parallel grooves around it. No natural explanation has been found for that. Conclusion: the object has to be man made.

FOSSILIZED HUMAN HANDPRINT

http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/4/3/2/f_fhandprintmm_82814e9.jpg

This fossil which corresponds perfectly to a human handprint shows astounding detail. It was found in Cretaceous rock in the same layer where also dinosaur footprints were discovered. Age- about 110 million years old. The handprint is so specific that it displays impressions of the thumbnail, impressions of the tissue webbing between the thumb and index finger, and the impression left by penetration of the middle finger into the mud.

These Peru bronze wheels, described by professor Rafael Larco Hoyle in his work "Peru" must be very old. Why nobody is interested in their old history, their origin? They resemble very much modern gears.

FIGURINES OF DINOSAURS

http://img33.picoodle.com/img/img33/4/3/2/f_facamb1mcc2m_2d839e9.jpg

In 1945 Waldemar Julsrud, a German immigrant and an experienced archeologist, discovered some little clay statues, buried at the foot of El Toro Mountain, near Acambaro, Guanajuato, in Mexico. Near El Toro and at the other side of the town, in the vicinity of Mount Chivo, more than 33,000 figurines made of porcelain were discovered. Similar relics found nearby were associated to the Chupicuaro pre-classical Chupicuaro Culture (800 BC to 200 AD). The figurines are representations of various species of dinosaurs, which are believed to have disappeared 65 millions years ago. The authenticity of Julsrud's large collection was challenged. Many archeologists believe dinosaurs have been extinct for the past 65 million years and man knowledge of them has been limited to the past 200 years. If this is true, man could not possibly have seen and modeled them 2,500 years ago.

THE COSTA RICA SPHERES

The spheres are exactly round and their size varies from a few inches to over 8 feet in diameter. They can be found anywhere. They are composed of solid granodiorite; a very hard igneous rock. The mysterious artifacts were cut, trimmed and then polished...and they are man-made but by whom? Such artifact is a never-ending problem in the scientific community. Whenever an anomalous artifact is unearthed that do not fit the traditional picture, it is very often explained as a work of nature. Can "nature" produce so many such perfectly round-shaped spheres?

The Devil's Marbles

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4604/devilsmarble1fi2.jpg

According to the Aboriginals, in the creation story of the Dreaming, the Rainbow Serpent fashioned the earth and then returned to a spot east of the Kimberleys at a place where the rainbow meets the earth. The Rainbow Serpent's eggs fossilised and became what non-Aborigines now call the Devils Marbles. The Aborigines know them as Karlukarlu.

Because of this, the Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve is a spiritually significant and sacred site to the Aborigines.

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/9307/viewimagephpes7.jpg

Scattered across a wide, shallow valley, the Devils Marbles consist of thousands of granite boulders precariously balanced on top of one another. Geological evidence exists that molten lava from deep within the earth's crust was squeezed into huge domes just below the surface and the rocky overlay was worn away over an estimated 1500 million years to expose the boulders. The Devils Marbles range in size from tiny to massive to tiny, and often glow with a dramatic fiery colour at sunset. They are on average about 4m high and from 13m to 33m wide.

The Georgia Guidestones

The elite behind the globalisation have as one of their goals to reduce the world population.
This statue raised few years ago by unknown in Georgia ,USA have a message to the world in 8 languages, it states that the population of the earth must be reduced from 6 billion to 500 million.

Georgia Guidestones

The Georgia Guidestones

Lorraine Day, M.D.
4-21-06

In Elberton, Georgia, a town with a population of about 5,000, located near the border of the state of South Carolina in the U.S., stands a huge granite monument espousing the conservation of mankind and future generations. Engraved in at least eight different languages on four massive stones are 10 Guides, or commandments that explain the agenda of the New World Order. The monument is referred to as the Georgia Guidestones or the American Stonehenge.

It was erected in 1979 after the arrangements were made by a well-dressed, articulate stranger calling himself R. C. Christian, obviously a pseudonym. He said that he represented a group of men who wanted to offer direction to humanity, but more than two decades later, no one knows who R. C. Christian is/was or the group he represented.

Several things are apparent. The “Guides” or messages deal with four major issues:
1) The establishment of a world government and a single language for the world,
2) Population reduction and control of reproduction,
3) The environment and man’s relationship to the environment,
4) “Faith” and Spirituality.

The Guides, followed by explanatory precepts, are as follows. The words are exactly as they appear on the Guidestones.

1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature
2. Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth – Leave room for nature – Leave room for nature.

what is inside the "badlands guardian"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badlands_Guardian sorry no pic
there is a road into its ear wich wiki claims is a oil well.
i dont belive that but what is it=?

in addition i really am curious to what is in afghanistan.
i dont really buy that its taliban but im not certain.
us and russia had troops on the borders before 911 happened.
is it the pipeline ? or is it a mystery.
been looking on google earth and cant find much there.

Hello 3stepsahead,

If I was to take a stab at your question, I would say its merely a dam where stock drink from, as a quick look on google earth confirms there is farmland surrounding the area. It looks like a stock-track leading up to the water.

Many people think this face is that of an Indian, but I think its a profile of the Pharaoh Akhenaten.
