He seeks them here
He seeks them there
He seeks those viruses everywhere
Perchance from heaven
Perchance from hell
So elusive like the Pimpernel
Mutating here, mutating there
Bird Flu virions everywhere
Will we be in heaven?
Or will we be in hell?
Poor ole Fouchier cannot tell

Are they living?
Or are they dead?
Do they mutate like Fouchier said?
Perchance from heaven
Perchance from hell
But poor ole Fouchier cannot tell

He seeks them here
He seeks them there
He seeks those viruses in the air
But mutant strains do not compare
With illusory model H5N1
His chance to publish now has come
Will we be in heaven or perchance in hell?
Poor ole Fouchier cannot tell

The Ferrets noses no longer run
Time to deliver now has come
Mutations here, mutations there
Those darned mutations everywhere
Perchance from heaven
Perchance from hell
But poor ole Fouchier cannot tell

He seeks them here
He seeks them there
He seeks mutations everywhere
Appearing in Ferrets
Disappearing in air
He seeks an aerosol in despair
Perchance in the aether
And not from hell
But poor ole Fouchier cannot tell

This is a quote from:Science versus Spin: How Ron Fouchier and Other Scientists Miscommunicated about the Bioengineered Bird Flu Controversy
by Peter M. Sandman - read the full story here http://www.psandman.com/articles/Fouchier.htm

What follows, is Fouchier in a March 26 “This Week in Virology” (TWiV) interview with Vincent Racaniello:

Racaniello:So Ron, the literature has a record of this and it was originally written that the virus that you ended up with after this passage in ferrets was transmissible and virulent. And a couple of weeks ago at an ASM biodefense meeting you reported that it was transmissible but not virulent. So I’m wondering if you can clarify.

Fouchier:Well, there’s a lot of quotes in the press that are simply wrong…. But what was also in the original manuscript and what I also presented in Malta is that if the ferrets receive virus by aerosol they only get sick, they don’t drop dead at all.

And here is Fouchier at an April 3–4 flu meeting of the Royal Society in London:

There’s no doubt in my mind that H5N1 does not have the supposed case fatality rate of 60%.

The Ferrets probably ''dropped dead'' - if they drpped dead at all from the witch's brew that Fouchier fed to them and called it a mutated H5N1 'virus'.

Vincent and Ron appear to be quite 'fiendly' - perhaps another reason why my 'Ode to Fouchier' was removed from Professor Racaniello's website.

Skywatcher,

Perhaps Fouchier's fibbing has done us all a favour in the sense that yet another possible planned bogus mutated Bird Flu outbreak that was on the cards has now been scuttled because Fouchier has really made a hash of things. He will not be a happy bunny and neither will Big Pharma.

However, it may well save some poor souls from receiving useless Bird flu jabs after all. On the downside their are plenty more flying pig viruses to worry about whose genes may have mutated or have even been transferred to the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland!

My advice is to keep watching the rabbit hole for the next 'deadly' virus con to emerge which will require yet another useless expensive vaccine to be administered down on Orwell's farm.
